    Features

3LCD System: 3LCD is a sophisticated, innovative technology that utilizes 3 chips to deliver vibrant, true-to-life and consistent images for the most demanding audiences. 3LCD technology powers the majority of all education, business, and home theater projectors. 3LCD has become the popular choice for projectors because of its high brightness (5500 lumens), exceptional color (wide color gamut), and dynamic contrast (20,000:1) for a natural looking detailed image on screen.

330W Lamp: The NEC NP-P554U projector employs a long-lasting 330W lamp that offers brightness levels up to 5500 lumens. The lamp can last up to 8,000 hours in eco mode.

    • Quick Startup & Power-Off: With a quick startup, you can begin presenting within 3 to 4 seconds. The quick power-off allows immediate shutdown with no cooling required to ensure efficient energy usage.
    • Direct Power Off: The Direct Power Off feature protects the lamp when the projector is accidentally unplugged or the power strip is switched off, and enables the fan to continue running until the lamp is properly cooled down. Internal sensors monitor lamp temperature and prevent the lamp from powering on.

Projection Lens: The NEC NP-P554's projection lens can project between a 30" to 300" image. In addition to manual zoom & focus, further installation flexibility is provided by Lens Shift, Keystone Correction, and Pincushion function.

    • Manual Focus & Zoom: The projection lens offers manual zoom (1 to 1.6x) and manual focus correct image size and fine-tune displayed image.
    • Lens Shift: Horizontal (+/-15 degrees) & Vertical lens shift enables flexible projector placement
    • Keystone Correction: Keystone correction allows for horizontal (+/-20 degrees) and vertical (+/-30 degrees) image correction even when the projector is set up at an angle to the screen.
    • Pincushion: The Pincushion feature removes the barreling effect at the edge of the image sometimes produced by the screen.

Video Inputs: The NEC NP-P554U offers HDMI, Composite, and VGA connectivity for your computer, player, and other source devices.

    • HDMI: Two HDMI inputs can be utilized to connect your laptop or desktop computer, as well as a media player or stick. Supported video resolutions include 480i, 480p, 576i, 576p, 720p, 1080i, 1080p.
    • Composite Video: A composite RCA video input is provided for older legacy source devices that have a composite RCA video output. The composite RCA video connection supports only 480i video signals.
    • VGA (D-Sub): The projector's VGA (D-Sub) input connects to the RGB output terminal on your laptop or desktop computer for video transmission. Supported PC video signal capability includes VGA, SVGA, XGA, SXGA, SXGA+, UXGA, and WUXGA.

Note: 4K video content is not supported.

HDBaseT Transmitter: The HDBaseT transmitter can be used when connecting the projector to a computer, video device, or network equipment. The HDBaseT transmitter connection consists of a RJ45 jack will connect via a CAT5e or higher Ethernet cable. The HDBaseT connection combines image (up to Full-HD), audio and control signals over single CAT5e or higher Ethernet cable (up to 328').

Note: If HDBaseT cable length exceeds 328' it may cause broken images or a malfunction in LAN communication. Do not use the HDBaseT transmitter beyond the maximum transmittable distance.

USB-A Port: The USB-A port can be used to connect a USB MSC (mass storage class) device for playback of video, audio, and photo files. Compatible USB MSC device included USB thumbdrives and HDD (hard disk drives).

Picture Settings: The NP-P554U projector offers 7 Picture Preset Modes to choose from that include High-Bright, Presentation, Video, Movie, Graphic, sRGB, and DICOM SIM. You can also manually adjust Contrast, Brightness, Sharpness, Color, Hue, Gamma, and Color Temp.

Audio Section: The NEC NP-P554U features a built-in speaker, plus offers an analog audio input and output.

    • Built-In Speaker: The projector is equipped with a built-in 20 watt monaural speaker for audio playback.
    • Analog Input: There is an analog audio stereo RCA output associated with the projector's composite video input, plus a stereo minijack (3.5mm) analog audio input associated with the projector's VGA (D-Sub) input.
    • Analog Output: The stereo minijack (3.5mm) analog audio output can be used to output an audio signal from a connected projector source to an external speaker system.

Note: HDMI ARC and eARC are not supported.

Remote Control: The NEC NP-P554U can be controlled from the included IR remote, via a web browser, or using RS-232 protocol.

    • IR Remote: The included IR (infrared) remote control provides wireless operation of the NEC NP-P554U projector.
    • IP Control: The Ethernet LAN jack (RJ45) allows you to monitor and control the projector over a wired network connection from a web browser on your desktop or laptop computer, or even a tablet device.
    • RS-232C Port: The RS-232C port allows for 3rd-party control from custom integrators (such as Crestron Roomview, AMX Beacon and PJ Link)

Note: HDMI CEC is not supported.

NaViSet Administrator 2: NaViSet Administrator 2 is a free software solution that greatly eases administration and management of larger display device installations. NaViSet Administrator 2 provides network monitoring and control for supported Sharp and NEC large-format LCD displays, projectors, desktop monitors, and associated Windows PCs.
