Leica integrated no less than twelve glass lens elements in the newest Noctivid models, giving you razor-sharp, high-contrast images with bright colors, even in low light.

Superior design and glass

The Noctivids feel solid, balanced and comfortable to hold in your hands. And their open bridge design makes it possible to hold and focus them with just one hand. Focus, diopter, and interpupillary adjustments are smooth and precise.

And even more importantly, Leica uses innovative coating processes for the high-quality lenses, and high-transmission SCHOTT HT™ glass in the prisms. When you scan the horizon, you'll see astonishing detail and depth of focus.

Rugged and reliable for a lifetime of use

Leica Noctivids feature a rugged, die-cast magnesium-alloy body with rubber armor coating that's easy to grip. Leica's AquaDura® coating protects the high-performance optics from water, dust, and dirt. Plus, these binoculars are waterproof and fogproof so you can use them worry-free under just about any conditions.

The included contoured Neoprene strap provides plenty of support to keep you comfortable over long stretches in the field while keeping your Noctivids always at the ready.

Features

Overview: The Leica Noctivid 10x42 (#40385) features improved optics to deliver bright, clear images and enhanced optical performance. These lightweight binoculars are made of durable magnesium alloy to cut down on fatigue during long viewing sessions. The dual-hinges create an Open-Bridge Configuration which makes it easier to grip, reduces the overall weight, and places the center of gravity to the natural hand position. The Noctivid 10x42 comes with a curved neoprene padded carrying strap, eyepiece caps, two objective lens caps (tethered to the tubes), and a Cordura carrying case.

Waterproof: The Noctivid 10x42 are water-tight to a depth of 5 meters (16.5 feet). In addition, the optical tubes are filled with nitrogen to prevent fogging and condensation from forming on the internal elements.

Premium Leica Optics: The Noctivid binoculars feature premium Leica optics for sharp, high-contrast images with superior color fidelity. Specially formulated Schott High Transmission glass and 12 lens elements improve the color fidelity and light transmission which makes them brighter in low-light situations. Leica's High Durable Coating (HDC) protects the outer lenses from scratches, and the AquaDura Coating makes water and oil bead up for easier cleaning. Internally, the roof prisms are treated with P40 phase correction coating, and with the proprietary High Lux System (HLS) to improve color and contrast.

Focus Wheel/Diopter Ring: The Noctivid 10x42 has a smooth, central focus wheel for focusing on subjects at different distances. The adjustment wheel can be locked to prevent unintended adjustments. The binoculars feature a ±4 dpt diopter adjustment for the right eyepiece that assures both eyepieces are in focus. The adjustment has a diopter index indicating the "0" position, as well as + and - positions.

Eyecups: The 4 click-stop rubber eyecups make it easy to position your eyes at the correct eye-point for the greatest comfort during extended use. The eyecups can retract to accommodate eyeglass wearers. The eye relief is 16mm.
