Product Research
Features
Overview: The Rangemaster CRF Pro (#40 547) is Leica's most powerful rangefinder that can provide accurate distance measurements up to 2800 yards. The lightweight and compact CRF Pro features excellent optics and precision linear and EHR (Equivalent Horizontal Range) distance measurements, all in an easy-to-grip housing. It provides distance results in just under 0.3 seconds with an easy-to-read LED display. The Rangemaster CRF Pro features integrated Applied Ballistics Ultralight™ software to rapidly calclulate the Equivalent Horizontal Range (EHR) for challenging shooting situations. The CRF Pro comes with a 3V Lithium battery (CR2), neck lanyard, lens cleaning cloth, and a soft, Cordura carrying case.
Range Measurements: Taking a distance measurement is an easy, one-handed action of aiming and measuring in a single movement. You should aim directly at the object and center the target mark on the object. To take a measurement, press the main button on the top of the rangefinder. In a fraction of a second, the laser measurement is taken and the distance displayed. The maximum range is 2800 yards on highly reflective surfaces, 1640 yards for trees, and 547 yards for game. You can also take continuous measurements in the Scan Mode by pressing and holding the button for over 2.5 seconds. A new measured value is displayed in 1/2 second. The rangefinder should be held very steadily during use, or placed on a solid surface.
Distance Displays: The CRF Pro has a distance range of 10 to 2800 yards (10-2600 meters). You can set the unit of measure to imperial (yards) or metric (meters) in the menu.
Equivalent Horizontal Range (EHR): Taking a shot at a higher or lower elevation target changes the ballistic conditions, and requires knowledge of the equivalent horizontal range. When EHR is activated, the Equivalent Horizontal Range is displayed, along with the linear measurement.
Applied Ballistics Elite Software: The Rangemaster CRF Pro rangefinder comes with a built-in ballistics calculator and is pre-installed with Applied Ballistics Ultralight™ software. The monocular has internal atmospheric sensors for temperature and barometric pressure, as well as the inclination of the device. You can also import external ballistics data, taking the crosswind into account, can be imported from a Kestrel® device or Garmin smartwatch via Bluetooth or entered manually in the Leica Ballistics app (iOS 15.0+, Android 9.0+). The sensors and software combine to give you precise ballistics solutions based on the measured range, equivalent horizontal range (EHR), atmospheric data, and other ambient data for up to 875 yards (800 meters). The software uses a database of up to 740 preset ammunition profiles and the coefficients of traditional and modern long-range bullets (G1/G7 coefficients).
Leica ProTrack™: With a wireless connection to the Leica Ballistics App on your smartphone, you have access to Leica ProTrack™, a GPS tracking system. LPT determines the GPS coordinates based on the last measured distance and marks the point on a digital map, such as Basemap. This is particularly helpful at checking your target when shooting at long ranges.
Laser: The Leica Rangemaster uses an invisible, eye-safe laser beam with an IEC/EN Class 1 classification.
Waterproof: The Rangemaster CRF Pro has a waterproof housing that protects the device during submersion in 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes.
Leica Optics/Coatings: The rangefinder features premium Leica "best-in-class" optics for sharp, high-contrast images. The optics provide 7x magnification and a 24mm objective (front) lens. The lenses have Leica's High Durable Coating (HDC™) and hydrophobic Aqua-Dura® coating on the external lenses. The prisms also have Phase Correction coating P40.
Diopter Adjustment: You can rotate the eyecup in either direction to adjust the focus to your vision. The rangefinder has an adjustment of +/- 3.5 diopters.
Eyecup: The rubber eyecup can accommodate users who wear eyeglasses and those who don't. While wearing glasses, you should fold down the rubber eyecup to ensure the correct distance between the rangefinder and your eye. Users not wearing glasses can leave the eyecup folded out.
Battery Power: The CRF Pro is powered by a CR2 3-volt Lithium battery (included). Replacement batteries can be easily obtained and user replaced. Typical battery life is approximately 1700 uses (at 68°F). When the battery nears depletion, the reticle and measured value will flash. This indicates you still have enough power for another 50 measurements, but at a gradually reducing range. Power consumption is much higher in Scan Mode, compared to single measurements.
Leica Warranty: The Leica Rangemaster CRF Pro is covered by a three (3) year warranty on its optics, mechanics, and electronics.
