Overview: The Leica M-Adapter L allows you to mount more than 20 additional lenses from the Leica M-System to any camera using an L-mount bayonet, including the Leica SL, CL, and TL. It adapts the camera's L-mount to the M-mount with data interfaces on both sides. For Leica M lenses with 6-bit coding, the data which permits aperture priority and accurate exposure metering from the lens is transmitted to the camera. Dimensions: Diameter 2.402", Height 0.524"; Weight 2.5 ounces.

Functions: Using the M-Adapter L on an L-mount camera limits some functionality in the following areas:

• Focusing: When using the adapter, only manual focusing is possible with Leica M lenses. In addition, the distances set on the lens are slightly shorter when using the adapter, than when they are used directly on Leica M cameras.
• Exposure Metering: All three metering methods -- multiple field, center-weighted, and spot -- are available when using the adapter.
• Exposure Modes: You can only choose Aperture Priority (A) and Manual Control (M) exposure modes when using the adapter. Automatic Program (P), Shutter Speed Priority (T), and the subject programs are not available. If you switch to an unavailable mode, the camera will automatically switch to Aperture Priority, the display will show "A. F0.0" as the aperture value.
