Solid radio, easy install
Richard from Sudbury, MA on 9/28/2024
Easy install. Fusion's use of "pig tails" for wiring the radio, rather than permanently attached wiring, made installation in a tight space much easier. Sound is good. However, ensure your wire supplying DC power is of sufficient size. Many boat manufacturers undersize the wire if used with higher power amplifiers. I noticed the LED display dimming slightly when playing higher volume bass notes. Upgraded the power feed and not only did the dimming go away, but the radio sounded even better! NMEA 2000 interoperability is good.

Fusion gyped us - NO support for Windows Bluetooth
Guest from St Augustine, FL on 2/4/2024
An otherwise good product is very limited by NO support of Windows Bluetooth. You cannot pair the Fusion MS-RA70NSX as an audio device to a Windows device. So you must load all your audio files into a phone (very dumb) - they won't fit.
Pros: Otherwise nice features and speaker options.
Cons: Need to add an external Bluetooth receiver to Aux In for use with a Windows device.

Pros: Easy to install, Bluetooth function works great. Sounds awesome
Cons: Having to purchase additional mounting sleeve that should be included with this unit.

Garmin and Fusion Always
Matthew from Taylor, AR on 9/27/2022
My Fusion MS-RA70 just died. Now it could have been feed back from the onboard charger through the amp to the head unit. Could not determine for sure. Ordered the Fusion MS-RA70NSX to replace it. Exact same fit and plugged right up to the old plugs. Had no reason to rewire at all. Now I have the plugs that came with the new unit as back up if ever needed. This unit is pretty easy to control from the face plate and via the FusionLink App on my Google Phone. I plan to network this with my Garmin UHD 93sv to have the ability to control the audio from the 9 inch screen (not necessary, but cool). These units are well built, and pretty user friendly. I bought an extra RCA cable to actually connect the two zones for separate speaker control. I will eventually upgrade my amp to a 5 channel to keep my current Infinity Speakers (2 pair) and add a SUB. This is on a 21 foot pontoon boat. I had this unit overnighted from Crutchfield and it came it on time. I was able to have my sound back on the boat for the last full day of fun on the lake. Highly recommend Garmin and Fusion Products! They seem to be the easiest to install and integrate in a full system that will communicate with each other.

Poor USB source capability
David from Arlington, VA on 9/21/2022
I was initially disappointed to discover that USB source music files had to be in mp3 format. So I created a new USB stick, converting all my various-format files to mp3. The manual describes this limitation and I knew what I was getting since I read the manual before purchase. Then I became REALLY disappointed to discover - after much trial and error - that the unit requires a certain file structure in the USB device that does not allow sub-folders. The files have to be e.g., Playlist/Tracks. It cannot be e.g., Artist/Album/Tracks. Nothing will play. Further, the shuffle function does not shuffle across the first level folders. To shuffle among all my tracks I have to put them all in a single folder. My previous unit - a 2009 vintage JVC - could easily accommodate multiple level folders, as well as play all the formats.....

Two units failed after a year each
Bryan from Holland, MI on 11/30/2021
I have had two units, about a year each. First one bricked - no response from controls. Warranty replacement died the next season. Can't make a bluetooth connection. I hear Iphones can cause that but I don't know. I've done all the resets and suggestions I found on line. We have maybe 3 people who connect to it. Unit is mounted inside the cabin of a sailboat where it's dry, and we use it about twice a week. Not hard usage at all. Super disappointed in Fusion. I cannot recommend this unit.
Pros: Good app. Unit looks solid.
Cons: Something is wrong with their firmware, probably related to Bluetooth. They become trashcan fodder in a year.

Great day on the boat.
Crutchfield customer from Gypsum, CO on 11/8/2021
Finally got out on the boat after installing my new radio and speakers. The system was easy to use. It sounded much better than the original 30 year old system. It has enough power to hear while under way. I didn't need it to be as loud as you see on the big wake boats. I also ordered the remote control, it works great, keeps me from having to reach onto the glove box. This should last me for a while.
Pros: Easy to install. Easy to set up.
Cons: None for me.

Alfred from Hickory, NC on 10/11/2021
Great radio, and it does fit perfect in your original single den mount. Just change the din cage and your set. Bonus!! With the power cut off to the boat,(main battery switch) the radio maintains it's channel memory settings. Also I have a toggle switch that supplies power to it. I can turn the radio off with the switch and turn it back on and the radio powers up and remembers last settings. Big bonus! your up front (away from the radio) fishing you can control the radio with your phone or laptop. Volume is great with quality speakers. No need for amp unless you want to entertain the hole lake. Reception for FM is great. XM radio is just a bonus! Very light and compact unit. Very happy with purchase.

Delivered free in 2days. Nice. Installation pretty straight forward. Hooked to existing Sirius box. Replaced clarion cmd8 in 22 foot Roballo boat. Used 2 zone 4 speakers setup. Zones allow volume control front to rear. Mounted in dash by steering wheel. Much better than clarion in sound and ease of use. 4 star because no equalizer function, may need amp, no rubber covers for unused rca cables. Have 4 Panasonic 150 watt speakers. Need to turn up volume quite high to get loud enough. Maybe not best match for speakers. Will see as I only have had boat out once since install. Don't notice any distortion even at full volume. Like volume knob. Overall huge improvement over clarion.

Great Stereo
Crutchfield customer from Glyndon, MN on 6/26/2021
Installed about a month ago replacing the factory JBL in our boat. Installation was pretty straightforward seeing i didn't need to connect all of the features this radio can do. Can definitely say it is more powerful and clearer than the old unit. I was expecting i may need to replace speakers also but sounds great by itself. We primarily use the Bluetooth for playlists and pairs and is playing right away. Happy with purchase.
Pros: Straightforward install and looks and performs great.
Cons: Haven't found any yet.

NMEA 2000 is a must
Crutchfield customer from Bentonville, AR on 4/22/2021
I bought this unit for the NMEA 2000 capability. I've installed this unit downstairs in my cabin and I use my Garmin 63 UHV chart plotter via the NMEA 2000 backbone (purchased separately) as remote tuning head. I head to get some help wiring the harness into my amplifiers though. Sound quality is amazing. Fusion in my opinion is now the gold standard for audio. They took something complicated, simplified it, made it user friendly, and made it of the highest quality. They are now the "Apple iPhone" of audio.
Pros: Simplicity of use. Excellent sound quality.
Cons: Complicated when wiring into multiple amplifiers

I have mine installed in a WarEagle Black Hawk. Its dead .. again.. Second one Ive had in about 3.5 years go south on me. Everything seems to be working except the sound. Shows phone connection, song, all of it... just no sound. Not sure what to do. I hate to think I cant get a Marine radio damp... hate to think I cant have a boat radio bump and jar a little. But, my Fusion MS-RA70 is dead again. That's about 6 - 700 dollars worth of dead..again
Pros: when it works, its nice
Cons: Head unit quits. ( its like saying.. sorry, your engine died ) no reason, no fix, its just dead. But, we can sell you another one..

Can't beat the price, replaced an old Clarion XMD1 on our 2003 Sea Ray Sundancer 260, added sirius tuner, and the bluetooth remote on the dash. Didn't see the need for a fancy color screen as it's down in the galley and i wont see it much. Bluetooth to phone with app for control is also nice. Garmin doesn't make an adapter plate for this.
Pros: Easy install, solid features
Cons: none so far

Stop shopping, you found the place to purchase. right here!
Crutchfield customer from Pelican Rapids, MN on 8/10/2020
After many years of service, the stock head unit in our boat was in need of replacement. Everything other than the head unit had already been replaced with JL Audio, amp, Speakers and Subs. So after reading the reviews on Crutchfield, watching the YouTube videos, and speaking to Drummer (Crutchfield chat support) I placed the order for this Fusion Head unit and matching remote. I come to find, that this is the same unit used in the latest years of our boat from Yamaha. So the Yamaha boating forums were buzzing with the quality of the equipment. I was pleased to find that the RA70NSX and NRX300 remote would ship to my home in 2 days! This allowed me time for install prior to the upcoming weekend of boating. Install was simple as I only need to splice in power, remote amp power and RCA line level to the JL audio Amp. The only reason I dropped this to 4 out of 5 stars, is the Single DIN size was narrower than standard single DIN, so I had to fabricate a temp filler plate until I could order a proper filler plate. Installation and navigation of this stereo is amazing. Large buttons make for easy use while at the captains chair. Using the app on the phone almost eliminated the need for the wired remote on the stern. Other than the safety of not taking the phone outside the boat. Sirius XM is even better with channel buffering, and starting songs from the beginning. As well as XM Tune Mix of my favorite stations! This is a fine piece o
Pros: Simple install, good directions. Large buttons, great display for outdoor use.
Cons: Smaller Single DIN needs a filler plate. No power of NMEA standard for wired remote.

Crutchfield customer from Chesterfield, MI on 6/17/2020
Selected this unit for its ability to add plug n play Sirius,iPhone, gps and the zone capabilities It offers. I Rated it a 4 star for 2 reasons, 1 the sub output for each zone only has 1 rca pigtail so you have to add a splitter. And 2 in order to update the unit you have to download to a usb reader then plug it into the back of unit Unless you have a location to were u can reach back there you need to pull it out
Pros: Plug n play a lot of great options
Cons: Updates can be a hassle having to reach back of unit to download

Great upgrade from factory radio!
Crutchfield customer from Manahawkin, NJ on 6/9/2020
Great replacement for my original factory radio. I put this into a 2003 Chaparral 230ssi. Installation was real easy, only thing I messed up one wire, but easily fixed. I connected the hot to the yellow wire, which powered the radio, but it was constant power. I switched to the other red/hot wire and then it became switch activated from my dashboard, which is how I wanted it powered. That way when I turn off power to the batteries, I dont have to worry about the radio still being on and running down the battery. The old yellow wire was needed to keep the radio memory, but with the new radio, you don't need the extra wire, the radio does not lose the memory. Connecting to the bluetooth was a little tricky at first. Instructions were not the clearest, but once figured out, it was easy to pair the next couple devices. I have my phone, wife's phone and wireless bluetooth remote. With the fusion app, its super easy to control the radio from my phone. I am thinking about hooking up the NMEA 2000 to my Garmin chartplotter as well.

Nice upgrade, solid construction
Crutchfield customer from Bowie, MD on 2/24/2019
This is the same unit as the MS-RA70, and RA70N, with the addition of SiriusXM radio capabilities (XM tuner sold separately). Installation was simple and straightforward. Like all the options for zones with speaker and pre-amp outs. Bluetooth streaming worked well. Configuration with the Fusion app on my iPhone was simple and works perfectly. Would have preferred heavier gauge power and ground wires (I think they are 18 at best). If you're replacing a DIN-sized unit, save yourself a lot of frustration and get the Fusion DIN cage (MS-RA70DC) because the MS-RA70 series does NOT fit a standard DIN cage (it's too narrow).
Pros: large, simple buttons easy configuration
Cons: need the Fusion DIN cage for standard DIN opening
