Great image, bad software
David from Bordentown, NJ on 6/17/2023
The picture is so stunning that I'm considering getting another one. On the other hand, I almost boxed it up for return 10 minutes after unboxing it because their software is so bad that I couldn't set it up. I filed a ticket with Netgear and several days later I still haven't heard back from them. Fortunately, I was able to find a solution to my problem from a 2020 post. Otherwise it would have gone back the next day. So it seems that Netgear's support is terrible and they haven't updated the software in 3 years. My primary use is to display family photos that are stored on the computer. I wanted to put these an an SD card. IMPORTANT NOTE: the smaller frame doesn't have an SD slot. Anyway, searching online, I found instructions for using an SD card. There are MANY restrictions. Files must be in specific folders, thumbnails must be a specific size and have a specific name. Fortunately, I have the tools and know-how to do all this, but I suspect many people don't.
Pros: Stunning image in beautiful frame
Cons: Setup is difficult. Using an SD card is difficult but worth it.

It's so cool, if you get the app, you can have access to over 30,000+ pieces of art. My wife loves it great gift!
Pros: Image quality, presentation
Cons: Have to purchase swivel mount separately

Best in a Class with Few Options
Crutchfield customer from Duluth, MN on 10/21/2021
The matting is too large. The overall size options are too small for the scale necessary for a larger room. It's good for what it is. Because there are not many good choices in the digital frame market since Depict went belly-up. The biggest advantages of Meural are that the software is excellent and it rotates to portrait. The Samsung frame is an overall better product but can't do portrait and the software is clunky.
Pros: Portrait Mode Software
Cons: Unusually large matting Not enough (larger) frame size options.

Meural Canvas II (27") Powered by NETGEAR
Matthew from New York, NY on 7/14/2021
I love it! I have yet to explore all the features, but just the picture clarity alone warrants a 5 star review. I have done some minor things (upload a few pictures, etc.) and the interface seems pretty reasonable. Absolutely get the rotating mount, you won't regret it!

A piece of art in itself.
Manny from PHILADELPHIA, PA on 4/18/2021
Absolutely love this frame. I'm the type of person who takes a great appreciation of art and our technological advances. It's pretty cool to be able to change up the art in my space, on demand. The detail of the art display is better than anticipated. It also dims automatically, a feature that can be turned off based on preference. The app is super friendly and Crutchfield offered the Meural one year membership at a discounted price. Netgear did a great job with this product! Also, Crutchfield inspected the box prior to shipping and repackaged with an outer box to hide the contents. I'm always amazed at the service they provide and wouldn't shop anywhere else for my electronics.
Pros: Picture clarity, centerpiece, application, ease of use, ease of install (15 minutes tops). It also has the border and frame.
Cons: I want another one!

Love it BUT...
Coleen Tabilas from Dededo, GU on 10/24/2020
I use my Meural Canvases to display family and travel photos. It's a great product but you're limited to 4gb of cloud storage even if you have multiple canvases. I have two 27" Meural Canvas II's. I liked it that much and dedicated one for landscape and the other for portrait photos but I'm still limited to 4gb of storage. And there is no option to download my pictures so that I can resize them to a smaller file size. The Meural app could also be better.

Love the Meural II Canvas for Displaying Vacation Photos
Crutchfield customer from San Diego, CA on 2/9/2020
Love the Meural Canvas II. I'm using this to display vacation photos (could care less about art) and it works great for that! I've been watching the Meural for several years now and I like what NetGear's done with it. The fact that this is pretty much the only product in this class makes choosing it pretty much a choice of Meural, or nothing ;), but I'm really happy with how it looks and works! The software to control it, upload photos, and gestures all work well. The only issue is that you have to convert any photos that aren't in 16:9 or 9:16 format into that format. Their software will do that for you (IOS and Android only, no PC or Mac software, which is fine) and automatically upload it to the canvas, but it's a slow process like 20-30 seconds per picture (cloud upload is what takes the time), so it's much easier to use a third party program like Paint 3d or Gimp to do the cropping on your PC or Mac and save it to an SD card (4 playlists available on SD card, unlimited numbers of photos per playlist), and just plug the SD Card in, especially if you have thousands of photos. I made a mounting plate from hobby board (so all screws are in a stud) since there is no way I'd trust the drywall mount screws that come with it, especially with the swivel mount. The swivel mount is kind of meh. It's nice to have, but it doesn't level well (you have to move it back and forth several times) and it causes the frame to stick out from the wall a bit.
Pros: Looks great, software lets you control it remotely and set all sorts of preferences like schedules to be on or off, preferences for orientation of photos, electronic matting for mis-sized photos, and works great for uploading photos if you only have a few to upload. Power consumption seems to be low and the frame and power plug are not getting warm. Easy to use, and it picks up new playlists on SD Cards really well. People complained about gesture control, but it seems fine to me.
Cons: The price is a little high, but I understand it's a small market right now, got the large one with the wooden frame, so it was expensive which really makes you think about it before you buy it. Also as I said, the swivel mount is kind of bad.

Exceeded our expectations !
Joanne from Fort Bragg, CA on 12/13/2019
Short Review: Buy it ! Long Review: This is not a larger version of the last digital frame you bought. It is so much more. We were looking for a picture for our home and could not decide on one we both liked and wanted to look at for years. Enter the Meural Frame. Cost less than what we were looking to spend on a framed print. You can download photos from your computer or directly from your cell phone using an easy Meural app. How many photos have you taken that are on your computer or cell phone and rarely, if ever, seen? Here is a way to showcase them. With a Meural membership you have access to an enormous library of photos, artwork, sculpture, and museum statues for about $6.00 a month, or the price of a Starbucks coffee. A bargain! Ours has been set up for 48 hours and we already have 12 playlists; Nature, Landscape photos, Animal photos, Abstract Art, Japanese Gardens, Waterfalls, Art in Motion, etc. There is incredible digital motion art available. Imagine a photo where the fall colored leaves are blowing, the waves are crashing on to the shore, or a waterfall is cascading. Intrigued? A lot of the artwork is included in the membership, however if you want a specific collection or a National Geographic photo, or artwork by certain artists, you may have to pay for it. Typically $1.95 - $3.95 for a single work of art, or $15. - $20. for a group of 10 plus. We have read reveiws that said the App was a problem, but our Android phone and our computers have not had issues.
Pros: Exceeded our expectaions. Finally a large digital frame. Great mat finished screen that has no glare from any angle. Crutchfield had great customer service before and after our purchase.
Cons: Netgear needs to add a shopping cart to their website. It is laborious to buy the pictures one at a time. And having five individual charges of $1.95 each is crazy on your credit card billing. I wish Adobe Photoshop Elements had a crop tool for the 16:9 ratio used by this frame and computer monitors.
