Overview: The Philips Hue Econic Outdoor Wall Lantern can add color to the outside your home, or illuminate an entryway with soft white light. As part of the White and Color Ambiance series the Outdoor Wall Lantern can produce white light from warm white to cool daylight (2000 to 6500 Kelvin) and 16-million colors. Control of the brightness and color requires wireless connection to the Hue Bridge (sold separately, or included in a Hue Starter Kit). The Wall Lantern requires hardwiring to your home's electrical wiring.

Outdoor Wall Lantern: The Econic Outdoor Wall Lantern fixture is 7-11/16" x 11-7/8" x 9-1/2" (W x H x D) and tapers from top to bottom. It has a 4-3/4" diameter base, and is made of durable black textured aluminum and tempered glass. The fixture has a rating of IP44, which means the fixture is protected from water splashing from all directions. The fixture features a tapered white translusive lens inside the glass fixture with a Wi-Fi controlled LED light inside (not user replaceable). The light has a 1150-lumen output, yet it only consumes 20 watts of power. The built-in light bulb has an estimated lifetime of up to 25,000 hours and 50,000 switching cycles. The Outdoor Wall Lantern weighs approximately 4.4 pounds.

Installing: Installing the light fixture should be performed by an experienced consumer or a certified electrician. The wall lantern should be installed onto a round or hexagonal junction box using the included bracket. The three wire pigtails on the fixture (Black-Hot; White-Neutral; Bare-Ground) will need to be connected to the home's wiring with wire nuts (not included). After reassembling the fixture, a bead of sealant should be applied around the edges of the base to prevent water or insects from entering the fixture.

Hue Compatible Products: This Econic Outdoor Wall Lantern not only works within the Philips Hue universe, but is compatible with many third party products, including many of the top voice assistants. Hue products work with Apple HomeKit (Siri), Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Cortana by Microsoft. Using simple voice commands, you can turn the lights on and off, dim or brighten the lights, and set a light scene. In addition, other "Friends of Hue" include IFTTT (If This, Then That), Logitech, Nest, Xfinity, and SmartThings.
