I have a couple Hue White and Color Ambiance bulbs in my living room, and they are so fun to change up depending on my mood. Now it's easy to express yourself with light in your landscape, too! Meet the Hue Lightstrip Outdoor. It's a flexible, weatherproof LED light strip that gives you diffused lighting anywhere you want. Expand your Hue system
To set up the Lightstrip, you'll need a Philips Hue Bridge (sold separately). Then, you can use the Hue mobile app to select color and brightness, right from the palm of your hand. Use it from anywhere at home, or even when you're not at home.
Control it with your voice
You can control your lighting system hands-free if you've got a voice assistant. The Lightstrip works with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. That means you can turn your lights on or off, dim them, and recall your favorite presets just by asking.
Other control options
Operating your lights with an app or your voice is fun, but you might find that some members of the household prefer a good old fashioned wall switch. If so, you can pick up a Hue dimmer or Tap. Or, if you've got a lot of smart gadgets you want to easily operate from one place, try replacing a wall outlet with a Brilliant Smart Home Control. You can also program Logitech's hub-based remotes to control Hue lighting.

What mounting options are available for this? Is it 360° lighting or directional? If directional, can it be mounted to a ceiling or soffit pointing downward?

They produce closer to 180 degree lighting and would work well mounted under something like to the ceiling or a soffit

Overview: The Philips Hue Lightstrip Outdoor 197 provides a flexible way for you to add color to your outdoor decor. This 16.4' weatherproof Lightstrip provides a diffused light effect wherever you want it. As part of the White and Color Ambiance series the Lightstrip Outdoor can produce white light from warm white to cool daylight (2000 to 6500 Kelvin) and 16-million colors. Control of the brightness and color requires wireless connection to the Hue Bridge (sold separately, or included in a Hue Starter Kit). A shorter Lightstrip Outdoor 80 (6.5 feet) is also available.
Lightstrip Outdoor: The Lightstrip Outdoor 197 consists of a flexible silicone strip that provides a uniform diffused light. Attached to one end of the 16.4' lightstrip is a 2' cable and transformer, which plugs into an 11.5' power supply and AC power cord. The lightstrip is roughly 3/4" x 7/16", and has an IP67 weatherproof rating. It comes with 24 plastic clips for mounting the strip where you desire. The Lightstrip Outdoor 197 has a 37.5-watt rating when lit, and 0.5-watt maximum standby power. It has an estimated life of up to 25,000 hours. It produces the following amount of light output (lumens):
- 1500 lumens at 2200K (Kelvin)
- 1550 lumens at 2700K
- 1650 lumens at 4000K
- 1810 lumens at 6500K
Hue Compatible Products: This Lightstrip Outdoor not only works within the Philips Hue universe, but is compatible with many third party products, including many of the top voice assistants. Hue products work with Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Cortana by Microsoft. Using simple voice commands, you can turn the lights on and off, dim or brighten the lights, and set a light scene. In addition, other "Friends of Hue" include IFTTT (If This, Then That), Logitech, Nest, Xfinity, and SmartThings.
