Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box
Neil from Atlanta, GA on 6/18/2023
Works great! My only "complication" was that I didn't have a long HDMI cable nor a good place for the box so I had to adhere it to the back of the TV. They included all the sticky stuff for the other pieces, I wish they included some for this too.

Wow result but annoying journey
Chi from San Jose, CA on 5/21/2023
3 ways to annoyance. I have a 2020 8K 75" TV which I bought the sync box for... it's not working because the sync apps only works with 2022 model or newer. IF it works, it will cost you another $130 to buy the one time fee to sync. So I hook it up with Nintendo Switch, the only device that is a go between using hdmi cable... when the tv or switch are turned off, you have to start the sync over again. But when it works it's a wow experience
Pros: Wow
Cons: 3 annoyances

Recommend the HDMI Sync Box
Crutchfield customer from O Fallon, IL on 1/3/2022
In tandem w/Hue gradient light strip, this sync box is a game changer! If you already have a Philips Hue light system (i.e. via Hue bridge), the sync box is a must add. It makes watching 4K tv/movies or playing video games much more immersive & enjoyable. Initially, I was worried about any light-response lag (as tv video colors changed rapidly, would the sync box reproduce timely gradient light strip color to match). I watched an Apple commercial w/numerous color changing backgrounds and noticed a very slight lag. While watching a movie, I didn't notice the lag. If you own a 4K tv utilizing good 4K video sources, I recommend making sure you have quality 4K-compatible HDMI cables in your setup. I've only used it for a week, so I can't speak to reliability now. I'm hopeful it will be like other Philips Hue products I own...well made/durable/reliable for years.
Pros: Best tv color light reproduction; simple to install
Cons: Total cost investment -- will require additional equipment (4K-compatible HDMI cables, expensive Philips Hue tv gradient light strip & Philips Hue bridge)

If it only worked
Crutchfield customer from New Britain, CT on 6/19/2021
Purchase with caution. It's hit or miss with this product. You would think for the price point it would work properly and consistently. I'm having the same issue that hundreds of people are reporting on line for years. The sync box losses connectivity, and the lights stop working. The app just sits there saying trying to connect and make sure you are on the same network as the bridge. I have confirmed with my network provider that it is connected, but still did multiple troubleshooting. Unfortunately the sync box still did not work properly. Philips support is not much help. Your basically on your own. I will be returning this product at an additional charge from Crutchfield. Nothing like paying extra for faulty equipment. Overall very disappointed in this product. I highly recommend you do research before purchasing an expensive paper weight.
Pros: When it works it's a great product
Cons: Does not sync, losses connectivity
