Nice compact speakers
JAMES from VESTAVIA HLS, AL on 12/17/2024
I was looking for compact bookshelf speakers for my PC. I called Crutchfield, spoke with Rucker, and explained my problem of wanting something with great sound, compact, detailed, and good staging. He recommended the SVS Prime Satellites. I took advantage of the sale for $249.99. Well, I can say that this was a great recommendation so far. These speakers have a great punch for the size. While they don't get deep, they can still reasonably play bass sounds, though I would recommend a sub if needed and want the real deep, resonant bass. Plus, subs tend also to add a bit of fullness to the sound. I will warn you that these are good enough. They will expose the quality of the audio source and what you use to drive them. Overall, they have great sound staging, detail, and clarity and don't distort much from what I can when played at higher volumes. Then again, I have them for near-field listening. They sound great, playing back various music, games, and movies. I can also see them as a great solution like rears or a small surround sound solution for small spaces. Excellent recommendation, Rucker. Thanks!
Pros: Great sound. Excellent staging and detail. Good solutions are the rear or a small surround system in small spaces or nearfield listening
Cons: If you want great bass, you will want a sub that is good enough to expose the quality of the audio source and playback device.

SVS Prime Satellite
Dustin from VERONA, WI on 12/13/2024
I've enjoyed the SVS Prime Satellites for over a year and a half at the time of this review. I'd recommend them to anyone who wants good sound but does not have the space for larger speakers. The compact size of these speakers makes them flexible in regard to placement. I rotate them around just for the fun of it and have used them as left and right surrounds in a home theater setup, in a 2.0 setup for background music in a bedroom, and in a 2.1 nearfield/desktop music setup. They perform well in each scenario. One weekend out of curiosity I used them as the main left and right speakers for home theater and I think they do quite well in that role as well. I'd say these "punch above their weight class" - it was easy to get lost in movies. The build quality of Prime Satellites seems good for the price. Pick them up and it is quickly evident that they are very dense. I like the black ash finish that I have. The only difference from the photos on Crutchfield is that in person the grills are plain black (the Crutchfield photos show the grill being a gray-ish black). Bass is what I'd expect for a 4.5" woofer. In some rooms in my house the acoustics work out such that the bass is pleasing enough for music without a subwoofer. But ultimately, if you want deep bass extension, a subwoofer is a must. I think the treble is generally assertive, and whether that is a pro or a con comes down to your own preference.
Pros: Quality sound and build, compact size allows for many placement options (wall mount, desktop, etc). Assertive treble is good for genres with subdued percussion, or people with hearing loss.
Cons: While I listed the assertive treble as a pro above, it can also be a con if you do not have hearing loss and listen to genres with louder percussion/cymbals/etc.

SVS a step above!
Kevin from Bakersfield, CA on 12/9/2024
This speaker looks and sounds great in my little set up. I'm running them with a Paradigm sub which rounds them out nicely. Build quality and overall sound quality are excellent and can be recommended for anyone looking for a great little speaker in a small space. Thanks again Crutchfield!
Pros: Big sound for a little speaker. Excellent build quality and finish.
Cons: None.

Great sound and quality high ended speakers for the price.
Donald from Aibonito, PR on 4/22/2024
As to the speakers they sound way better than what I expected. I wanted to buy the DALI Spektor 1 but it was not available at Crutchfield so I went for the SVS Prime Satellites in black ash since that matches the rest of my other speakers and the subwoolfer but it was out of stock so I got the open box available in the Outlet with a discount. They look like knew had to scratches or damages and although they did not include the rubber or gel feet mentioned as included but it is not a big deal since I used my existing wall mount brackets to the place of a pair of old Jamo E600 which on their one sounded very good for their size (basically the same as the Prime Satellites but have an inch shorter. The E600s sounded good with a very solid build and weight but the twitter damaged on one of them so it was time to replace. I can say they sound better with great midrange and treble accuracy without being as bright as the Jamos. They also sound very detailed and with better midrange, bass and audiophile refined sound. Overall, superb sound and quality for the price and integrated very well with my other seven speakers and subwoofer. Highly recommended for Dolby Atmos front high speakers which is as I am using them but will work great as surround or as room stereo speakers.
Pros: Great refined sound with powerful midrange and highs without lacking bass in such small speakers.
Cons: None for the price and intended use.

Brought my theater's audio to a new level
Kenneth from Marlborough, MA on 5/6/2023
Added these as rear speakers. It's part of my journey of converting my home theater from 5.1.2 to 7.2.4. All of my speakers are from SVS. As soon as I added these speakers, they brought my theater's audio to a new level. I was VERY pleasantly surprised in the change. Once my budget allows me, I'll be adding 2 SVS Elevation speakers as front heights.

SVS Prime Satellite
Crutchfield customer from Knoxville, TN on 12/23/2022
Our living room has horrible acoustics: vaulted ceilings very open with lots of echoes. Configuration made speaker installation difficult. We tried wireless speakers, but delay made sound worse. I finally took the time to cut holes in walls and pulled speaker wire. Installed these SVS speakers and amazed at the clarity and range of sound. Both movies and news sound great. Big thanks to Cooper at Crutchfield for recommending these speakers.
Pros: Compact size, great sound range
Cons: None at this time

Small in size, big in sound!
Paul from Yorktown Hts, NY on 9/13/2022
For two speakers smaller than a shoebox, these are pretty powerful. They could easily be used as main speakers in a small to medium sized room and they are ideal for rear surround sound which is why I purchased them.
Pros: Clear and brilliant sound.
Cons: None

Substantial
Crutchfield customer from Cohasset, MA on 12/28/2021
The audio put forth by these gems is better than speakers twice their size. They could almost work alone in a modest stereo setup. Almost...but they could probably use a small sub to establish depth. The build quality is much more substantial than other so-called satellite speakers ... and the sound is accordingly better than most.

Solid and attractive, couldn't compete with larger bookshelf speakers
Crutchfield customer from Long Beach, CA on 9/11/2021
Build quality seems excellent. I got them in Piano White finish and these things feel like little pianos - really solid. They're a bit heavy but still OK on my satellite stands, which look like microphone stands. I use as satellites and for that purpose they're perfect. I compared to my A/D/S L410 bookshelf speakers (purchased 1988) in a stereo setup and they cannot compete - ADS was superior in clarity and bass. That said, for something this small, it packs a pretty good punch. If using as prime speakers I would recommend a subwoofer.
Pros: Build quality, compact, attractive, great for satellites as the name implies.
Cons: Better off with full size bookshelf speakers as prime speakers

Excellent desktop speakers
Crutchfield customer from Highland, MI on 4/25/2021
I can't believe these don't have a better reputation as desktop speakers! Pair them with one of these little digital 300watt amps for under $100 and they are superb sound! Add a subwoofer and you've got a setup that can be considered high end. They do the midrange and treble better than most speakers this size... better than my NHT Super Zeros ever were, and they are about the same size. I also like these a TON better then my Audioengine A2's. The tweeter SVS uses is fantastic! I really feel like I found a gem with these little guys. It's a shame most people are buying them as rear channel or satellites for home theater. I saw that someone set these up in a plastic molded foam interior case as travel speakers. I think I am going to copy that rig too!
Pros: Clarity and detail Imaging and soundstage Power handling Great sound! Portability
Cons: Low end bass, but come on.. of course a speaker this small would need a sub!

Great satellite speakers
Crutchfield customer from Seattle, WA on 4/11/2021
Bought these SVS satellite speakers to complete my 5.1 home theatre setup. I bought them from the outlet to save some cash and in white to better blend into the background of our living room. They look and sound great. The size and performance are tough to beat and they complement the rest of my SVS speakers perfectly. Have them paired with SVS' Prime bookshelf and center speakers. Highly recommend.
Pros: Size, performance, price
Cons: None for home theatre. I'm sure some audio snob will run some obscure test to point out some sonic flaw that 99% of listeners and consumers will never hear.

The speakers seem very well constructed with quality components. Great attention to detail in that everything lines up and fits properly. They produce a lot of sound for their size. A little more power hungry (less efficient) than a comparable sized speaker I own, but not really an issue. I found their sound and presentation to be realistic and not over-hyped. However, they do seem a little lean in bass.
Pros: Pleasant natural sound in a small package. Visually unobtrusive.
Cons: Slightly lean on bass, best used with a sub-woofer.

Tiny Powerhouses
Michael from NORFOLK, VA on 9/13/2020
These speakers are small. I have a set of Polk TL 250s and these are not that much bigger. Much like SVS subs they really do deliver. Imaging is excellent. Dynamic, clear and punchy. If you need truly small speakers that don't sacrifice sound quality, I highly recommend these. Both the Polks and these can handle a lot of power and play really loud, but for a small increase in size these produce much more bass.
Pros: Sound quality Great mounting options - keyhole and threaded insert Small size
Cons: None

Very Imprressed
Crutchfield customer from Fort Wayne, IN on 4/9/2020
I'm very impressed and after 50 years of buying stereo equipment I am a hard critic. I got these speakers not for surround sound but for "near field listening". I have them on my desk with only 3' of seperation and 3' from my ears. They are clear--not too bright but so warm that they seem muddy. I can listen to them for hours with no audio fatigue. I have them paced only a few inches from a wall but the base still is coherent; not boomy or distorted. (I have them paired to a Marantz PM6006)
Pros: Clear, well ballanced, small footprint
Cons: None for near field listening

Good bang for the buck
Derek from Steamboat Springs, CO on 3/4/2019
I bought these to better match some Prime Elevations speakers that I am using as Front Heights. These are replacing some Polk TL2s. I have a challenging room where I need something light enough that I can ceiling mount from a heating duct running parallel to my listening area and low profile enough that I won't hit my head on it if I walk under it. These fit the bill perfectly. The picture in the description doesn't show the threaded insert, but they do come with that. The Polks did the job okay, but these pack a lot more punch! If I had the option, I would put some Elevations in the rear as well, but these allowed me to use a mount that I could swivel towards the listening area. Very happy with my purchase.
Pros: Great sound for the size, light enough to ceiling or wall mount, solid construction.
Cons: None that I can think of.
