Overview: The Memphis Audio Power Reference PRX800.5V2 is a compact and powerful 5-channel amplifier. This Class D amp features a compact anodized brushed aluminum chassis with all of the connections on one side for a clean installation. Each Power Reference series amplifier includes a Certificate of Performance with a total RMS power measurement.

Output Power: The PRX800.5V2 can provide the following output power:

• 75 watts RMS x 4 + 250 watts RMS x 1 (all channels at 4-ohms)
• 100 watts RMS x 4 + 400 watts RMS x 1 (all channels at 2-ohms)
• 200 watts RMS x 2 (bridged) + 400 watts RMS x 1 (all channels at 2-ohms)

High-Level/Low-Level Inputs: The Memphis Audio PRX800.5V2 5-channel amplifier features 3 pairs of RCA inputs that can accept signal levels ranging from 200mV up to 6V. Three sets of RCA-to-speaker wire adapers are included for running speaker-level input signals.

Sub-Sonic Filter: A Sub-Sonic Filter for the subwoofer output (Channel 5) provides a cutoff point for lower frequencies that cannot be cleanly reproduced by the subwoofer. These lower frequencies may cause damage to your speakers as well as waste amplifier power. The Sub-Sonic Filter for Channel 5 is variable from 10Hz to 50Hz, with a slope of 24dB per octave.

Accent Lighting: The mono amplifier features an acrylic top panel with an LED-backlit MEMPHIS logo that glows blue. Additional undermount LEDs provides blue accent lighting around the amplifier.

Remote Level Control: The PRX800.5V2 includes a wired remote level control that lets you adjust the subwoofer volume from the front of your vehicle. The level control is designed to mount underneath a dash or console and includes a 16' connection cable.

Protection Circuitry: The amplifier features built-in circuitry to protect the amplifier against short circuit, overheating, and over/under battery voltage. The amp LEDs will glow red when the amplifier shuts down due to any of the above causes.

Controls: The amplifier features a removeable acrylic top plate where Channels 1-5 Gain, Filters, Subsonic Filter, and Bass Boost controls are located. The top panel can be removed using the included 2mm Allen key. Additional controls are located on the Input side-panel. Top panel controls include:

• Gain: rotary control for Channels 1/2, 3/4, and 5; sets the input sensitivity for that pair of channels; labeled Min to Max
• Crossover Switch: determines the crossover type for Channel pairs 1/2 and 3/4; selectable between High-Pass and Full Range.
• High-Pass Crossover (2): rotary controls for Channels 1/2 and 3/4; range 50-250 Hz; 12 dB/octave slope
• Low-Pass Crossover (1): rotary control for Channel 5; range 50-250 Hz;18 dB/octave slope
• Bass Boost: rotary control; provides up to +12dB of signal boost for the subwoofer channel (Ch. 5); centered at 45Hz
• Sub-Sonic Filter: removes unwanted frequencies below the cutoff frequency for the subwoofer channel; rotary control; range 10-50 Hz; 24 dB/octave slope
• Input Panel Controls:
  • Input Channels: 2-position switch determines the number of input channels used; options include 2CH and 5CH

  • Auto Turn On: 3-position switch:
  • 12V: using a +12 volt remote turn-on wire

Connections:

• Power/Ground/Turn-on: set-screw terminals; power and ground terminals accept bare wire up to 4-gauge (a 4-gauge amplifier wiring kit with an in-line 80-amp fuse on the power wire within 18" of the battery is recommended); REM set screw terminal accepts up to 12-gauge wire (an 18-gauge remote lead is sufficient)
• Signal Input: six RCA jacks; preamp or speaker level input; 200mV-6V
• Speaker Outputs: five pairs of set screw terminals provide the Channel 1-5 speaker outputs; accepts up to 12-gauge wire; bridging terminals are indicated on the amplifier for the 4 main channels
• Remote Level Control: an RJ-25 socket lets you connect the provided remote bass level control
