Features
Mono Power Amplifier: The Naim CI-NAP 101 is a high-performance mono power amplifier that is compatible with low (4 to 8-ohm) and high impedance (70/100V) loudspeaker setups. The amplifier is perfect for powering demanding hi-fi speakers that require a lot of power, while delivering exceptional audio quality.
- Low Impedance Power Ratings: 4-ohm to 8-ohm compatible
- 4-Ohm: 800 watts x 1 channel
- 8-Ohm: 500 watts x 1 channel
- High Impedance Power Ratings: 100V or 70V
- 100V: 240 watts x 1 channel
- 70V: 150 watts x 1 channel
Note: The CI-NAP 101, part of the CI Series range, has been designed and manufactured by Naim engineers to complement Focal integrated loudspeakers. It can also be used with other brands and models of low and high impedance loudspeakers.
Stereo RCA Inputs & Outputs: The CI-NAP 101 is equipped with one set of stereo RCA input jack and one set of stereo RCA output jacks. Use the stereo input to connect a preamplifier (sold separately). Use the stereo output to daisy-chain another power amplifier in your system. There is a level control for the stereo input that can be adjusted to match the output level of your preamplifier.
Euroblock Speaker Output Terminals: The Naim CI-NAP 101 uses six detachable 2-pin euroblock (phoenix-style) connectors for its speaker terminal outputs. It features dual euroblock terminals for its 4/8-ohm (Low-Z), 70V, or 100V loudspeaker connection. The euroblock (phoenix-style) connectors can accommodate 16 or 14 AWG bare speaker wire (not compatible with banana plugs).
- 4/8-Ohm: The dual 2-pin euroblock (phoenix-style) connectors labeled "Low-Z" support connection of two 4 or 8-ohm loudspeakers. These dual euroblock connectors are wired in parallel and the amplifier will support down to 2-ohms.
- 70V: These dual 2-pin (phoenix-style) connectors labeled "70V" will support connection of multiple high impedance 70V loudspeakers.
- 100V: The dual 2-pin (phoenix-style) connectors labeled "100V" will support connection of multiple high impedance 100V loudspeakers.
Note: Only one of these types of speaker output terminals should be utilized at a time.
High Impedance Output Switch: When utilizing the high impedance speaker outputs (70V or 100V), you will need to enable the High Pass Filter on back of the amplifier and set it to 50Hz or 120Hz. If you using 4/8-ohm low impedance speakers, you must set this switch to "Bypass".
Protection Circuitry with LED Indicator: The CI-NAP mono power amplifier offers Signal Clipping, High Temperature, and Short Circuit protection. An LED on the front-panel indicates whether the amplifier is operating normally or is in protection.
- Normal Operation = Green & White
- Signal Clipping = Solid Orange
- High Temperature = Solid Purple
- Short/Fault = Flashing Red
Mounting Options: The Naim CI-NAP 101 can be mounted within an equipment rack and takes up 1U rack space using pre-installed brackets (screws not included). The CI-NAP 101 can also be placed on a shelf of an AV stand or inside a cabinet. The included self-adhesive rubber feet can be placed under the amplifier to help isolate it from the mounting surface. The pre-installed rack-mounte brackets can also be removed to reduce the width of the amplifier.
- Tabletop Dimensions (with feet and no brackets): 17.375" (w) x 1.9375" (h) x 13.9375" (d)
- Rack-Mount Dimensions (with brackets and no feet) : 19.0" (w) x 1.75" (h) x 13.9375" (d)
Note: The CI-NAP 101 is not wall mountable.
Power Requirements: The included 6' AC power cord (IEC 3-prong) plugs into the back of the amplifier and into an AC power wall outlet or surge protector/line-conditioner (sold separately).
- Auto On/Off: The amplifier will automatically turn on when an input signal is detected and turn off when there is no signal or operation for 20 minutes (this feature can be turned on or off).
- Trigger In/Out: There is a 12V trigger input and output on the rear-panel of the CI-NAP 101 that allow power on/off synchronization with a connected source component and other amplifier.
Service Port: There is a mini-B USB port on the back of the CI-NAP 101 for service purposes only.
