I purchased this DAC to connect a Bluesound Node streamer to a McIntosh C220 tube preamp via an AudioQuest Carbon coax cable. The sound is stunning. That said, there is a lot of competition in this price range for high-end DACs and I auditioned several before settling on the MDA200. Honestly the differences between them (at this level) were minute and only came out when doing critical listening for passage nuances that I was attuned to. I recommend this product to any McIntosh owner that has a non-digital pre-amp/integrated amp because it sounds and looks great.
