For $500 I would rather buy a different stand. The top plate that the speaker sits on feels like a cheap piece of pressed wood, a lot less than what I would expect at this price. I've owned other $500 speaker stands and it's very clear where the money is with them, not with these. I really want to like these because they are very cool looking, but they just don't demand the price. The ball bearings look cool and or a good idea, but the design of how the platform sits on them makes them completely a relevant and unnecessary. If you're going to spend $500 on stands, instead of these go with the Bowers and Wilkins 700 series. If you had both in hand you would definitely see the difference
