Product Research

Features

Two-Way Driver Design: The Elac Debut 2.0 series DC52 center-channel loudspeaker features a two-way driver design with a 1" tweeter, two 5.25" woofers, and a 2,200Hz crossover. Both the tweeter and woofer have been custom designed by Andrew Jones to deliver an exceptional audio experience that can't be delivered with typical off-the-shelf parts

  • Cloth Dome Tweeter w/ Wave Guide: The 1" silk soft-dome tweeter features a wide-roll surround that improves power handling and a waveguide that improves directivity control by eliminating cabinet diffraction inherent in traditional box enclosures. The 1" silk soft-dome tweeter candle handle high frequencies up to 35,000 Hz.
  • Dual Woven-Aramid Fiber Woofers: The center-channel speaker features two 5.25" woven aramid-fiber cone woofers with rubber surround, oversized magnet, and vented pole piece. The revised shape of the aramid cone offers even greater stiffness and damping; far superior to polypropylene or paper. The added strength allows more flexibility in design to achieve a smoother, extended low-frequency response.
  • Custom Crossover: A custom seven-element crossover (2,200Hz) with audio-grade components is implemented to ensure smooth transition between the tweeter and woofer.

Bass Reflex MDF Cabinet: The Elac Debut 2.0 series DC52 center-channel loudspeaker uses a bass reflex cabinet with two front-firing flared ports for greater efficiency and bigger bass response. Moving the bass ports to the front of the cabinet means placement against walls or in bookshelves won't compromise performance. The cabinet is made of MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) to strengthen and stiffen the cabinet, helping minimize unwanted vibrations that can discolor music or movie content. The MDF outer walls of the cabinet are covered with a black ash wood-grain vinyl finish. A detachable cloth grille is included.

5-Way Binding Posts: The Elac Debut 2.0 series DC52 center-channel loudspeaker is fitted with a set of 5-way binding-post terminals which will accept bare-wire (up to 10AWG), pin-connectors, spade-lugs, and banana plugs (single or dual).

Placement & Mounting Options: The center-channel speaker should be placed directly above or below the center of your TV screen. It can rest on a flat surface like a table top, shelf, or stand. Try to keep the center-channel as close to the same level as your front speakers for a more even soundstage. If this is not possible, you might try tilting the center speaker up (if too low) or down (if too high) to aim it wards the listening area. The speaker should be positioned approximately 1' to 2' away from boundaries, such as walls or corners.

Note: The center speaker does not include a bracket, key-hole slot, or threaded insert for wall-mounting.

Elac Debut 2.0 Series: The Elac Debut 2.0 series family of loudspeakers consists of two floorstanding loudspeakers (DF52/DF62), two bookshelf loudspeakers (DB52/DB62), two center-channel loudspeakers (DC52/DC62), a Dolby Atmos enabled loudspeaker (DA42), and two powered subs (S10EQ/S12EQ).

Customer Q&A

4 questions already asked

Q
Can this center channel be placed below a new smart tv about a foot or so away?
harry  Jun 17, 2025

A
There isn't any issues that come from having about a foot or so between the TV and a center channel speaker. The potential issue would come from the speaker being significantly lower than ear level and the seating being too close to hear it clearly. I recommend contacting a product advisor by calling 1-800-324-9695 to discuss your setup and get a personal recommendation on a center channel that will work the best in your system

Q
I have the older Debut B6 speakers. Will the Debut 2.0 C5.2 Center speaker work well with those?

Leland, I don't see why not. ELAC makes good speakers and I think you should be fine. I'm happy with my Debut 2.0 and I have it set up with the Uni-fi 5 floor standing speakers. If I'm not mistaken about 80% of the sound you heard will come out of the center and your left and right are just complimentary. Hope this helps.

A
Yes. It will be a little louder so you will have to notch the volume down a bit on your center speaker. Could not be happier with all of my ELAC speakers
william  Jan 15, 2021
A
If you're using a sub woofer and don't listen at very high volume levels (ear popping levels) it will be fine.

Q
I bought this speaker Elac Debut 2.0 C5.2, I had this question weather both the woofers get different signals, as right woofer functions more than the left woofer. Is it normal with all center channel speakers. its jus an observation; Speaker sounds Great !!! ?

A
I have not experienced this situation. This speaker is wired to the center channel output of my Denon AV receiver. It is only receiving the voice range frequencies from the receiver and is limited with regard to lower frequencies. The front left and right speakers are receiving bass frequencies as well as the surround left and right--and, of course, the subwoofers. Both of the woofers should have equal volume...if not, there may be an issue with the crossover or the speaker itself.

Q
will this pair with ELAC Debut IC-DT61-W ceiling speakers? planning on 6 in the ceiling and this on mantel below the tv

A
I have the ELAC Debut 2.0 C5.2 and it pairs well with my other ELAC Debut speakers. I don't love the idea of mixing a center speaker with only in ceiling speakers. I did the same thing in my house and I never felt that it created the right sound stage. Pairing with L/R bookshelf or floor standing speakers sounds much better. That being said, if you are limited to in ceiling only then I believe that this ELAC center channel speaker will pair well with your selected in ceiling speakers.

I don't see why not. I have this center channel and it does a good job. I have it paired with two ELAC uni-fi UF5 tower speakers.
