Features
Overview: The Match UP 10DSP is a universal amplifier/DSP sound processor. It offers 8 speaker-level inputs and an optical digital input that can be freely routed to any of the 10 amplified outputs. The amplified outputs include 8 channels x 65W RMS (4Ω) and 2 channels at 90W (4Ω) or 160W (2Ω) for powering subwoofers. The Match UP 10DSP's powerful DSP uses a 295 MHz/64-bit processor for powerful control of your sound and flexible configuration with up to 11 channels of DSP processing. BurrBrown A/D and D/A converters, with a 48 kHz sampling rate, provide a signal-to-noise ratio of 103 dB on the analog input and 105 dB on the digital input.
ACO: The Match UP 10DSP features Match's proprietary 32 Bit ACO technology for ultra-fast processing of audio functions, sound effects such as Augmented Bass Processing and Real Center processing, as well as channel-separated input EQ including Input Signal Analyzer (ISA) for easy signal analysis and EQ adjustment.
DSP: Configuration of the DSP is made using Audiotec-Fischer's DSP PC-Tool V5 software (Windows 10 & 11, 32/64 bit; MAC not supported). Adjustments include:
- Main: allows independent modification to the audio signal for each of the eight amplified outputs and one preamp output; adjustment options include:
- 30-Band Equalizer: graphic or parametric; -15 dB to +6 dB range in ¼ dB steps; fine center frequency adjustment, including graphic EQ; adjustable Q, 0.5-15 in 0.1 steps
- Crossover: high-pass and low-pass; crossover point range 20 Hz to 20.48 kHz; 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, or 42 dB/octave slope; filter type Butterworth, Bessel, Tschebychev, Linkwitz, and Self-Defined
- Additional Adjustments: the main screen has quick adjustments for phase, polarity, and time alignment, as well as the ability to mute any of the outputs
- DCM: Device Configuration Menu:
- Remote Control: activate and assign functions to the URC.3 or Director wired remote controls (both sold separately); buttons on the remote can be assigned different functions; master volume, sub volume, digital volume, etc. The optional remote can also be used to select any of the 10 internal memory locations for sound setups.
- Power Save Mode: have the amp turn off after a period with no input signal; set to 10-600 seconds
- Signal Management: set the detection sensitivity and priority for each of the inputs
- PC-Tool Configuration: change the gain resolution for the channel output level and EQ; change EQ view mode; enable an allpass filter
- FX Menu:
- RealCenter Processing: RealCenter emphasizes the mono information from the left and right channels;
- ClarityXpander: ClarityXpander emphasizes the high frequency response for crisper/brighter output
- Augmented Bass Processing: Audiotec Fischer's proprietary Augmented Bass Processing consists of two sound features; Dynamic Bass Enhancement, boosts bass response in relation to volume (center frequency and gain adjustable); SubXpander, adds subharmonic tones to existing fundamental bass notes
- StageXpander: StageXpander can create a broader stereo field without negatively affecting the localization of voices and instruments.
- I/O: input/output configuration; assign any of the input channels (analog, digital, and MEC) to any of the output channels (drag-and-drop the icons)
- Time: adjust the time alignment (distance), phase, and polarity of each output channel
- RTA: the built-in RTA (Real-Time Analyzer) gives you a visual representation of the frequency response inside the vehicle (microphone not included)
Virtual Channel Processing: Audiotec Fischer's Virtual Channel Processing (VCP) adds an additional layer of channel processing between the Input and Output stages of the DSP, providing eight additional virtual channels and nine processed output channels. VCP lets you configure complex sound systems with cross-channel group equalizers that affect several output channels simultaneously, and multi-way speaker configuration of DSP sound effects.
Class GD Technology: The Match UP 10DSP uses Audiotec Fischer's proprietary Class GD amplifier topology, providing higher efficiency than conventional Class D amplifiers. Class GD technology can vary the internal supply voltage in several areas depending on the amp's input signals, significantly reducing idle losses and boosting overall efficiency. This also produces minimal heat, allowing the use of smaller heat sinks and decreasing the overall chassis size.
Advanced Diagnostics Error Protection, 3rd Generation (ADEP.3): The amplifier utilizes a new ADEP circuit to allow the processor to be integrated with new factory car stereos. Newer stereos detect the presence of connected speakers, and when typical amplifiers are connected (instead of speakers), the radio will often mute its outputs or lose fader function. The ADEP.3 circuit avoids these problems without loading the speaker outputs of the factory stereo at high volume.
Automatic Digital Signal Detection: Switching from analog to the digital input is done automatically as soon as a digital signal is detected on the Optical input. This feature can be deactivated in the DSP PC-Tool V5 software and can be switched manually with an optional remote control.
Start-Stop Capability: The switched power supply provides a constant internal supply voltage even if the battery's voltage drops to 6 volts during engine cranking. If the supply voltage drops below 10.5 volts for more than five seconds, the amplifier goes into protect mode (Status LED will light red) to avoid any further battery drain.
Power Save Mode: Power Save Mode will automatically turn off the internal amplifier stages and the remote outputs when the input signal has dropped off for more than 60 seconds. When a signal is re-applied, the amplifier and remote outputs reactivate within a second. This feature was developed because many newer vehicles use a bus system that "invisibly" keeps the factory radio on for up to 45 minutes after the vehicle has been turned off, thus, keeping the sound system active. The turn-off time can be changed or deactivated completely using the DSP PC-Tool software.
Match Extension Card Slot (MEC): The Match UP 10DSP features an extension card slot for installing an optional input card (sold separately). Options include Analog, which adds two more speaker level channels and a 3.5mm stereo preamp input; Bluetooth, for wireless audio streaming from a Bluetooth-enabled device; and USB, for USB music playback. To install an extension card, the bottom plate must be removed, providing access to the inside of the unit.
Note: The UP 10DSP can only accommodate one extension card.
Speaker Input & Output Wiring: The 8 speaker-level inputs and 10 speaker outputs are provided on pre-configured harnesses, along with a Remote In terminal. The speaker level inputs can activate the amp automatically, so remote turn-on wiring may not be necessary.
Power & Ground: A 2-pin connector provides the Power and Ground connections; an 8-gauge amplifier wiring kit is recommended and is sold separately.
Additional Connections & Controls:
- USB Input: USB Mini-B (2.0) port; connect to your PC with the provided cable; compatible with Windows 10 & 11 operating systems; MAC not supported
- Control: button used for switching between DSP profiles (one and two) and reset the amplifier
- Status LED: indicates operating mode and current DSP profile
- SCP Input: multi-pin Smart Control Port; for optional wired remote (Director or URC.3, both sold separately); a NanoFit adapter is included if required by the wired remote control.
- Optical Input: Toslink digital input; PCM stereo (SPDIF)
- Auto Remote: an On/Off switch allows the UP 10DSP to be activated through the high-level inputs or via the Remote Input terminal.
- Line Out: a single RCA jack can provide a mono preamp signal for running to an additional amplifier.
