Woofer upgrade worth the cost!

Amazing the difference these woofers made in my car sound system. Very satisfied with my purchase and highly recommend this upgrade for the Mini Cooper that does not have the Harmon Kardon sound system .

2018 f30 install... sounds great!

Great fit, great sound. To clarify, I like to hear the bass in a song; I'm not about thumping bass. These work great with the hi-fi,(non HK) amp for that. Bass is much better defined than stock. Had trouble with the first because I didn't realize where the speaker stopped and the enclosure from the car begins. Ended up ripping the front of the existing speaker off. Note: 2018 f30, you*only have to take the speaker out; you can leave the enclosure attached to the car. You will have to work to pry / lift the speaker out - it will be stuck in pretty good. Once I realized with the first, the second went very quickly.

2021 Mini Cooper JCW GP3

I installed these in my 2021 Mini JCW GP 3 and it was not too hard to do. I am 80 so it took more time but the rewords are great. The bass took on a very natural presentation that was true to the music. I was looking for quality and got it in spades. It made a huge difference and I couldn't have asked for more. If you have a Mini and want better bass the this is for you.

Sound better, but Not a Huge Upgrade

I wanted to upgrade the bass in my e90 335i by replacing the under-seat subs. I gave these 4 stars only because they are not truly plug and play - I would have preferred if the speakers had a bracket like the originals that I could plug into, but instead you have to pull off the pre-stripped sleeve on an (included) wiring harness and screw the ends down to the speakers, then clip that harness into the OEM fitting. This wasn't hard, but it feels cheap, and mainly it also means you have about 4"+ extra wiring to fit within the sub area. You must figure out how to wedge this extra wiring somewhere because it can fall on and rattle against the speaker if not done properly. It also gives you little spacers that it says you should fit to the underside of the original grill so it provides more room for the speaker, but there is no fitting on the bottom of the grill for these. In terms of sound, they are an upgrade, but not a huge one. They are punchier and feel more powerful. I also feel like I can push them a bit and there is no distortion. I was disappointed because I was expecting more bass, but I think you are limited by the fact that they are an 8" woofer and there is only so much air you can move. So, you won't get major seat-vibrating bass from these (you get some), but they sound better than stock and provide excellent midbass as well. Overall not super expensive and easy to install, so I am satisfied with my purchase.

Amazing improvement over OEM

I was on a tight budget for upgrading the original BMW Hi-fi system in my E92 335. I went with a tweeter and midrange speaker package from a BMW-specific aftermarket manufacturer, but their underseat subs were so expensive that I went looking for another option. I ordered the Match by Audiotec Fischer W8BMW-S subs based on positive reviews on Crutchfield and elsewhere but otherwise sight unseen (or sound unheard?); price was about 25 percent less than the other subs I was considering. When they arrived I have to admit I was somewhat skeptical because the speakers were so compact, so light, and had such small magnets. And they weren't the most aesthetically pleasing design ever (not that that mattered much in my car's hidden underseat application). I installed them anyway, knowing I was covered by Crutchfield's amazing customer service and refund policy, and I'm so glad that I did! Installation was a breeze - the whole job was done in about an hour, including moving the seats out of the way - and the included wiring harnesses and mounting screws fit my car perfectly. The robust sound produced by these little subs belies their small size and light weight: output was tight, punchy, detailed. Not boomy at all. No, these subs don't rattle windows like a big trunk-mounted vented unit might, but that's not what I was looking for. I wanted clarity and precision, and that's what Audiotec Fischer has delivered with the W8BMW-S at a very reasonable price.

MATCH UP W8BMW-S

Installed these in my e91 with the HiFi sound system; I run the stock amp, so I went with the 2 ohm versions. Installation was very straightforward; they install under the front seats in the stock positions, so you have to remove the seats to access the factory sub enclosures. Crutchfield did not have the usual instruction sheets, but there are plenty of videos on YouTube that show the process. The speakers include in the box a wiring adapter that makes connection to the factory wiring plug-and-play; just make sure all of the pins are fully seated after clicking the harnesses together. Once installed, they provide solid mid and sub bass, and are a definite upgrade over the OEM speakers. They won't rattle your fillings, but they're not designed to do that. Overall, though, I am very happy with the sound, and would recommend.

Sounds great w/mod...

Nice component subs, they definitely sound better than stock, I would have given 5 stars but the wiring harness that is supposed to fit doesn't. I do have a 2019 model so maybe MINI changed the harness. You will have to break out the dremel and cut a slot so the harness will fit.
