Love these Speakers!

I needed a near-field listening experience for my desktop computer workspace, and KEF's speakers consistently appeared on my "to buy" list. I tried active speakers from multiple brands in the past, but the hiss from the Class D amplifier was too annoying. Enter the KEF Q1 Metas. These passive speakers fit the bill for my workspace, forcing my B&W CM1s into our living room. I'm looking forward to upgrading my amp and then adding a sub to this setup to keep growing into these already impressive speakers. If you're considering buying them for a home office or small room environment that requires exceptional near-field performance, don't hesitate to get these KEFs!

Excellent sound

This speaker sound excellent. I have been listening to "gaming" stereo for years and it was time for an upgrade. This is a huge upgrade and they sounds clean, clear and crisp. I bought N22 gen 2 Dac/amp to power these monsters.

Out of the box very good!

I was very impressed with the double-plain boxing of the speakers. I was planning to use a 1974 Marantz receiver with them, it hadn't been used in 15 years. It played ten minutes and the left channel went dead in stereo mode, they only played in mono. So my 4 Star review is only temporary until I get my new Yamaha amplifier and get at least 10-15 hours on them. But they initially were very good, as good as I expected! Another review to follow.

KEF Q1 Meta

The q1 metas are incredible. Kef really nailed these. Thank you kef and thank you Crutchfield. I'm a big fan of the q150's as well. But the q1 metas are better in every way. Best sounding speakers I've listened to for under $1,000. Crazy good deal at the $400 sale price. I've listened to some newer klipsch and jbl speakers which sounded good but nothing compares to these kef q1 metas

Not Great

I have a pair of these that are sitting in my closet. I'm no speaker snob but these things aren't very good. I would go with a pair of Elac speakers in the same price range.

Well mannered, tight and detailed.

I love the size and the build quality of these speakers. The sound they create is tightly controlled and highly detailed, just what I wanted. They will actually project what is on the recording and expose a poor quality recording instantly. Some might prefer more bass but I am happy with it the way it is. They convey reality in a manner that I wanted in my office.

Buy quality and you'll get longevity

Fantastic sound! Thanks to Dwayne, who worked with me to find the perfect bookshelf complement to my ancient KEF/NAD setup - which still delivers after 42 years! Buy quality! Thanks again, Dwayne. And thank you crutchfield for over 50 years of great car audio. Too bad that my new 4-Runner system can't be replaced with a better system .. And a CD player
