Best sub $1k Speaker!
Michael from Huntsville, AL on 12/16/2024
Well, UPS botched the delivery for one of the speakers which I'm nervously still trying to resolve. Nevertheless, Crutchfield was kind enough to send a replacement extremely quickly. Now for the set up, I'm running them with a SVS Micro 3000 and a Marantz model M1. These seem to be an excellent fit for my medium-large, awkwardly spaced room. (Almost too big for the sub though but definitely not the speakers or amp.) Listening: I don't have too much experience with other modern systems, so I did a tremendous amount of research before buying these with a budget of $1200/speaker. I'd never thought I'd say this, but they completely blow my JBL 100s with a Fisher 500 out of the water. These speakers have a huge soundstage throughout the spectrum. They just sound good. If you're going to use a sub anyway (which I'd recommend), no question, buy these over the Q11's and don't look back. Use the savings on something else. Overall, 5 stars, I couldn't be happier with these speakers.
Pros: - Superb value for the money - Hear the unheard - Feet are way better than what's pictured. It's just a solid rubber foot that is pretty well isolated from the case. Not a needle point that sets on a washer.
Cons: - Looks are a little plain Jane, but it's about what's under the hood here.

KEF Q7 Meta
Mark from Anaheim, CA on 11/1/2024
I've had the Q7 Metas for a week now and I'm very satisfied. My living room is 15 X 18 and the speakers appear to be not fussy however, I've found three feet from the back walls and two feet from the sides is giving the best sound stage and imaging. I have these toed in about 15 degrees off axis and they are perfect. Center sound stage is very deep and accurate and I'm noticing verticle sound stage is very clear on some recordings. I can honestly say that spending some time with placement will make these disappear. They are super clear and well defined. I have to wonder that these could be very close to the R7 Metas. I do think it's important to list my equipment as I'm very happy with the match. Brand new Marantz PM8006 all analog amplifier, Marantz CD6007 and Bluesound Node. All in all, awesome speakers. Vey Happy.
Pros: Incredible imaging and spaciousness, super clear. Low end is very tight, no extra sub needed here. I'd think it would be crazy to mess with what they already do.
Cons: I tried to come up with some...just really cannot. KEF knows what they did with this new line.
