Very warm rich sound, quality output of highs , lows and midrange even at low volume. No real distortion at higher volumes just great quality sound. They are not broken in yet but very impressive so far. Just make sure you have an amp that will match up /them. These are not for the lower end amps. Thanks for the help Zack, love em so far.

Great looking in all black; fantastic sounding with very nice sound stage width and definition; good size- not too big, not too little. Great choice for my small listening room (9' x 10'). Pairs well with my Audiolab 7000A.

Great new Kefs!

I love these speakers! It is nice that Crutchfield allows a review period, since speakers are quite subjective. When researching the Q Concertos, I found one YouTube reviewer who didn't like their sound...but many others praised them. In any case, I think they sound fabulous: great texture and soundstage, and ability to get at the timbral qualities of every instrument. I have them only 14" or so from the front wall, with no roominess in my listening room. Bass is detailed with good extension: you can always add a subwoofer if you like, but I would advise trying the Concertos first: it will depend on your room. They have some serious punch. I actually heard percussion things in Miles Davis' "All Blues" that I never picked up on before, and I've only been listening to Kind of Blue for about 40 years ; ). The same thing happened with George Harrison's All Things Must Pass (50TH anniversary remaster) as well as about 20 other albums. Lots of inner detail without sounding bright at all! Basically, I couldn't stop listening. I don't think these speakers will have trouble with any type of music.

Pros: Nice size! I can fit these on 24" stands very nicely in a space that probably wouldn't work for Wharfedale Lintons.

Cons: I haven't found anything yet.

Excellent value "bookshelf" speakers

Working with Crutchfield was a seamless process aided by the extensive reviews that are added to each of the models they sell. After a bit of deliberation and cross reviewing with other competitive products, I decided on the Q Concerto Metas and ordered them. They arrived promptly to my home about 48 hours later and I hooked them up to my office/listening room system. Roon Core Mac Mini (M4)>Wiim Ultra>Geshelli JNOG DAC>Arcam A25 and Buchardt Sub These speakers are extremely powerful, with beautiful treble that isn't shrill, highly engaging mids and sufficient base that they can be implemented without necessarily needing a sub. Adding a sub definitely brings out more sub-base and more nuance than the Q's are able to drive on their own. I highly recommend the Q Concerto Meta, they bring a level of clarity, nuance and detail that I didn't know was possible to all of my listening, whether spoken movie, podcast or music.

Great KEF Value!

Scott from Albert Lea, MN on 12/4/2024

They look awesome and sound very dynamic and balanced when matched with the right amplification and enough wall distance behind them. Unfortunately, they didn't work with my living room space and sounded boomy at times with only 18" of available space behind them. KEF included foam port plugs for positioning close to the wall but I decided to go a different direction. Crutchfield customer service was great handling the return.

Pros: Wide soundstage, very clear, good instrument separation, and plenty of bass for small to med sized rooms.

Cons: Male vocals sounded a bit dry with Jazz and Country music. Ample wall space behind them is important.

Worth every penny

The Q Concerto meta is impressive! It's a definitely a full range speaker and sounds much bigger than it is. The handoff of sound between the Uni-q driver and the woofer is perfect. The KEF source point sounds is still very precise with the concerto. They sound amazing currently hooked up to a vintage Yamaha cr-620 although could use a bit more power. I'm very impressed by how natural they sound.

Pros: Great full range sound, very detailed, good amount of bass.

Cons: Size, make sure you have the room for them.

Upgrade from original LS50!

These replace a pair of original LS50's. The Concerto Metas image and project a wide soundstage much like the LS50's, but the treble is sweeter and more refined and they scale much bigger. This is an excellent speaker!

Pros: Great imaging Wide soundstage Great low end punch Great for rock, jazz and symphonic music Detailed, yet non-fatiguing

Cons: None

Kef has a real winner!

I bought these based on a couple of YouTube video reviews, one by John Darko, and the other by Erin's Audio Corner. I typically don't put too much stock in reviews but both of these made the case that these new KEKs really hit it out of the park, both on sound quality and value, and now that I have had them for a while I must emphatically agree. They have a full and natural sound quality and create a great soundstage, actually quite exceptional. I would say they are the epitome of a great all rounder, and are worthy of being paired with really good high end gear. I'm driving mine with a Hegel H95 integrated amp and it's a perfect match. I can't recommend these speakers highly enough!

Pros: Sound quality and great value. Worth the money even if they cost more.

Cons: Matching stands a bit pricey but not a big deal.

KEF Q Concerto Meta

Vincent from New York, NY on 11/18/2024

Verified employee review (What's this?)

I'm new to proper home entertainment setups and I bought these to increase the scale of a 3.1 system I had with Q150 speakers as my primary fronts. The 150s are great, but they didn't have the fullness of sound in the middle that I was looking for. Adding the Meta's solved the problem for me and I've moved the Q150s to the rear of the room, so really got quite a nice sound stage and solid mids. The Meta's really put out some nice sound in my room and they make me wonder how much I actually need the subwoofer in my particular space. Would recommend!

Pros: They sound great.

Cons: They're a bit large, but it's hard to get mad at physics.
