Bring big sound to your golf cart
This custom dash kit is designed to give your E-Z-GO TXT golf cart all the style and sound you want. The kit features a single-DIN (2" tall) cutout for the receiver of your choice, plus two cutouts on either side for new speakers. Made from rugged ABS plastic, this kit is easy to install, looks great, and stands up to life in the great outdoors.
Custom-made in Virginia for your E-Z-GO
VIP Golf Cars makes some of the best golf cart accessories around, and they're also just up the road from us in Elkton, Virginia. So it only makes sense that we'd eventually get together and create dash kits that can please any audiophile. We worked with VIP's engineering team to create kits that let you install the stereo gear you want in your golf cart.
The E-Z-GO TXT kit is styled to match your cart and designed to replace the stock dash with minimal fuss. You can install it in an hour or so using basic handtools, in fact. With three cupholders for your beverages, a storage tray, a side pocket, and a locking underdash glove box for valuables, you'll enjoy improved functionality along with outstanding sound. You'll also get great looks, whether you choose the Carbon Fiber, Greywood, or Black Paintable finish.
Clever cut-outs
The steering shaft and ignition key openings are pre-cut, but if you need to add switches for additional gear (extra lighting, battery meters, etc.), there's space for additional cut-outs. There's also an available space if you want to relocate the ignition key closer to the driver's side.
The speaker openings will accommodate a variety of 6-1/2" speakers, but speaker cut-out diameter varies by model. Be sure to compare the cut-out diameter of the speaker and the speaker openings before ordering.
Installation note: On 2014-up carts, the ignition switch has moved from the right to the left side of the dash. The kit's ignition wire is long enough to work with this design change.
Note: You can stash your phone or other device in the storage tray, of course, but if you're on uneven terrain, a more secure solution might be a good idea. Check out our collection of phone mounts to find the one that's best for your cart.

Product Research
Features
E-Z-GO TXT Dash: This custom dash from V.I.P. is designed to specifically fit 1997-2013 E-Z-GO TXT golf carts without modification (2014-up models require modification). It features pre-cut openings for a DIN-size marine digital media receiver and two 6.5" marine speakers, as well as your golf cart's steering column and ignition switch. It also offers four cup-holders, a tray holder, a side pocket, and a locking storage compartment.
Note: DIN-size marine digital media receiver & 6.5" marine speakers are not included and all sold separately.
Modification Note for 2014-up Models: On 2014-up models, the factory ignition switch is on the left side of the dash (instead of the right side on previous years). There is enough slack in the ignition wire to move it to the right side. If you wanted, you could also drill a new hole on the left side to keep it in the factory location, but that would require extra modification and cutting, plus there would be an empty hole on the right side.
DIN-size Receiver Opening: The V.I.P. E-Z-GO TXT Dash features a rectangular opening to mount a DIN-size marine digital media receiver. The DIN-size opening measures 7.1875" wide x 2.0625" tall and will accommodate a receiver with up to 4.75" of depth. The receiver's outer trim-ring should not measure more than 8.25" wide x 4.5" tall. It will fit most DIN-size marine digital media receivers.
Two 6.5" Speaker Openings: The V.I.P. E-Z-GO TXT Dash features two round openings that will fit many 6.5" marine speakers. The two round speaker cut-outs measure 4.9375" in diameter and will accommodate a speaker depth up to 4". The speakers frame & grille diameter should not exceed 8".
- Speakers must have a cutout diameter of 4.93" or less to fit inside the speaker openings. If you have any questions, please consult our sales team for the best speaker fit.
- Our full selection of 6.5" marine speakers can be found here.
Other Cut-outs: There is also a cut-out for the steering wheel shaft & ignition key. In addition, there is space to make your own custom cut-outs for an optional USB/Aux panel port (sold separately - see accessory list), light switches, meters, gauges, etc.
More Features: The V.I.P. E-Z-GO TXT Dash is equipped with four cup holders for your drinks, a tray for your smartphone, a side pocket for your sunglasses, and a locking storage compartment for your valuables. The floorboard of the golf cart creates the bottom of the storage compartment.
- Four Cup Holders: Each cup holder measures 2.5" in diameter and 2" tall.
- Tray: The tray measures 5.5" wide x 0.5" high x 2.5" deep
- Side Pocket: The side pocket measures 5.75" wide x 2.75" high x 1.75" deep
- Storage Compartment: The storage pocket measures 5.75" wide x 8.25" high x 6" deep

While it does require fitting and trimming it is worth it. If you measure and cut very carefully you can actually fit a double din stereo in. Everyone that has seen it so far is in awe.
