Features

Xtreme: Dynamat Xtreme provides 4 times the damping efficiency of Original Dynamat, the conforming ability of Premium Dynamat, and the radiant energy reflection of Super Dynamat. Dynamat Xtreme has an aluminum layer for high temperature areas.

Mounting: Mount the speaker as you normally would, Dynamat Xtreme will create a seal and damp the door panel to maximize the speaker's performance.

Excess: Use any excess Dynamat Xtreme to attach to the speaker basket, thus cutting down on resonance.

Adhesive: There is a high tack permanent adhesive with a peel off plastic liner on the back of the Dynamat Xtreme.

Sizing: The material cuts easily with scissors or a razor knife. Dynamat Xtreme will increase the speaker's mounting height and reduce mounting depth by approximately 0.085". It is typically used to install two speakers for maximum performance.

Installation
  • Clean mounting surface (bare metal)
  • Using a razor knife or scissors cut Dynamat Xtreme to the desired size
  • Apply Dynamat Xtreme, centering the sheet over the speaker opening
  • Apply pressure, working Dynamat Xtreme into the contours of the door panel
  • Using speaker hole as a guide, cut away center portion of sheet

Customer Q&A

Q
Do you need dynamat for both your front and back doors?

A
Depends on the size of your system you're installing. If you're just replacing factory speakers, I would probably not worry with a sound deadener. However, if you're doing a pretty big upgrade with more power it will definitely help reduce resonance. A trick I do is remove the factory plastic moisture barrier and place the deadener straight on the door. Except for the hole for the speaker, do not open any other holes. Take the piece you cut out for the speaker and place it against the outside skin of the door (inside of the door obviously) right behind the speaker. And yes, sound deaden all doors.

I put it in. But I don't think you need it at all if you are not using an amp.

It's a sound deadening material it sticks on around speaker holes in doors or trunk lids u ca. Actually put it on the floor or in your trunk you cut it into sectional pieces and it keeps riad noise out also seals the car better and also helps with rattles so really can be used for multiple things just depends on what your need is hope this helps if u need to know anymore specifics feel free to ask and I can try to help if I can

I put it on the metal inside my driver & passenger doors to reduce vibration noise.

It creates a barrier between the speaker and the metal of the door to prevent rattling. It pretty much kills the extra sound that's not from the speaker.

It was used to stop vibration on my back deck. I took up the plastic and put it directly on the metal around my rear speaker holes. I have a subwoofer so it bangs pretty hard sometimes : ).

Jose: the Dynamat is a product that is designed to dampen outside noise. It's like insulation in your home to hold heat in the winter and heat out in the summer. The kit is used around the speakers (you can also purchase larger sheets to insulate the entire door or floor of your car). It definitely improves the quality of sound inside the vehicle cabin. It's a bit pricey but it does make a difference in sound quality.

When u place it strategically in your door panels around where your speakers are it keeps stuff from rattling. I personally dunno where exactly to place it but when u bring it to a professional shop they know exactly where to put and you'll get good sound quality. Talk to a crutchfield costumer service representative and they will know how much you should purchase.
