These durable subs combine proven technology and materials with rugged design to create subwoofers that will handle high power and keep on kicking.

"Old-school" bass

The BRX1240 12" subwoofer sports a reinforced high-density paper cone that lays down warm, "old school" bass that'll have your vehicle rocking. A double-stitched surround helps this sub handle up to 400 watts RMS, so you can feed it plenty of power. The dual 4-ohm voice coils allow you to draw maximum power from your mono amp. Just add an amp and an enclosure, and you've got the makings of a real bass party.

Product Research

Features

Woofer Terminals: The woofer has spring post wire terminals. They will accommodate bare speaker wire up to 10 gauge.

Dual Voice Coils: For increased system flexibility, the woofer has two 4Ω voice coils. When the voice coils are wired in parallel, the woofer presents a 2Ω load; when wired in series, the woofer presents an 8Ω load.

Sealed Enclosures: Sealed enclosures provide the most control over a woofer and provide accurate sonic reproduction, making them suitable to all types of music. Memphis Audio recommends a sealed enclosure of 1.25 ft³.

Vented Enclosures: Vented (or ported) enclosures typically provide better overall efficiency than sealed so they are suitable for use with smaller amplifiers, giving you more bass output from less power. Memphis Audio recommends a ported enclosure of 2.75 ft³ with a 12.5" x 2" x 20-3/4" slot port, yielding a tuning frequency of 35 Hz.

Customer Q&A

1 question already asked

Q
Would these subs be able to mount in a down firing enclosure for under rear seat of a 2010 Chevy Silverado? What amp would you recommend to power them?

A
Thanks for your question. For information on selecting the best amp for your subs I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to help determine the differences between the amp models and help you make the best choice for your system.
