Features

General Description: The StreetWires firewall bushing is a three piece design; the threaded shaft loads through the firewall, a rounded cap screws on from one side and a nut from the other. A watertight seal is created as the ends are tightened. Your wire will be protected from metal jagged edges and moisture.

Available Sizes and Dimensions: The StreetWires firewall bushings are available in three sizes.

8-Gauge Firewall Bushing:

  • Cut-Out Diameter: 0.58"
  • Shaft Length: 1.159"
  • Inner Hole Diameter For Wire: 0.25"

4-Gauge Firewall Bushing:

  • Cut-Out Diameter: 0.88"
  • Shaft Length: 1.275"
  • Inner Hole Diameter For Wire: 0.5"

1/0 Gauge Firewall Bushing:

  • Cut Out Diameter: 1.105"
  • Shaft Length: 1.588"

StreetWires Firewall Bushing

These items are known as glands in the electrical trade in the military. I am an electrician for the U.S Army in Iraq and have used thousands of these in various sizes. They provide an outstanding cable connection, Very secure. My issue is the price. To comply with Crutch field's guidelines I will simply say the price is absurd.

Well the product itself leaves me with nothing to complain about. It's great for a water tight seal. The only reason why I marked it down one star is because I needed two bushings so I ordered two. I received my stuff and there are two bushings per package. Now I have two extra bushings.

Useful Tool but Way Overpriced

These are handy; we use these in my line of work to keep water spray from high pressure hoses, out of our electronics which are housed in stainless steel cabinets. They do work.

This SteetWires Firewall Bushing was a total waste of money. Do not get caught up in
the hype. My 8-guage power wire does not fit with a water tight seal. You will have to
wrap in electrical tape to achieve the seal you would expect from this product. The
bushing is way too big. The wire I would have expected to fit snug. You might was well
stuff your firewall with a towel or any random thing from the house. A complete false
sense of security this bushing purchase was. I would not recommend this to anyone. I
would find somewhere else to run the wire where there is a pre-existing hole and wires
running through the firewall already and pull it through with a coat hanger. Don't Drill If
You Don't Have To!
