Features

Overview: The StreetWires FHXS4 fuse holder is designed to work with AFS type fuses and accepts 4-gauge power wire. It serves two main purposes for your car audio system.

Protection: It is the first point of protection for your system and your car in the event of an overload, short or accident.
Performance: It also maximizes the performance of your high-powered mobile audio gear in your car.

Construction: The fuse holder offers the following reliable construction.

Waterproof: The 2-Stage Watertight System protects all connections.
Housing: The fuse holder uses a polycarbonate casing that is impact-resistant and resists high temperatures.
Clear Housing: The fuse holder not only protects your fuse it allows easy fuse inspection due to its clear housing.
Connections: The connections are made from forged brass for maximum current transfer and resistance to harsh environments. They are also direct connection which means low resistance and superior clamping.

Compatibility: The FHXS fuse holder can accepts 4-gauge power wire on both ends of the fuse holder. It is designed to house AFS type fuses from 40 to 150 amps.

This fuse holder is very nice and IMO very user friendly. It's water proof and I like the AFS fuse style a lot better than the glass fuses. No problems mounting or hooking it up. And of course, what better place to purchase your car audio needs than Crutchfield.........there is no better place. Lifetime support for all your products and very knowledgeable, friendly customer service. Great Job!!!

great once assembly is figured out

I couldn't believe it. I must have spend 40 minutes trying to figure out how to
assemble these. The two ends have screw terminals for the fuse between them,
but I couldn't get either end to slip through the center section! They have a
metal lip and it seemed like an impossible design flaw or manufacturing error.

Turned out the the rubber o-ring is of such a tight fit that it feels like a
metal ring stopping insertion. Slide the o-ring out of the way, and the metal
piece can go into the center section to allow the fuse to come out the other
side and be screwed down onto the other end piece. Then slide it back and the
o-ring can be refitted.

I couldn't believe I was outsmarted by a fuse holder. It was the only part
of a stereo install that didn't go smoothly.

Hopefully the next idiot who is outsmarted by this fuseholder will see my rant
and see how to assemble it.
