Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

My order consisted of power rings 4 gauge crimp connectors, a jvc head unit and the dash kit. I got the order quickly as always. Nice equipment for an already nice stereo

Pros: Good instructions, not that its rocket science

Cons: $10 for 4 crimp connectors is kind of ridiculous but whatever, everyone is ridiculous

Great Quality

I've used many different crimp-on connectors and IMO these are the best. They're heavy
duty and they just don't feel cheap. When you crimp your wire in these you know you have
a very good connection plus there's no other place I would buy my audio needs than
Crutchfield!!

Connectors are wide

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these for the connections to my Kenwood Amps. I had to use a bench grinder to make them about 1/16" more narrow in order to fit them to the amp. It would be nice if they made a version that was just a bit more narrow for these types of connections. Other than that, they work great. I did not use a crimp tool for them, instead I soldered them. Due to the size of the connector, and the wire, it was necessary to use a butane torch for the heat source. Make sure to use plenty of flux!

Excellent connector

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These connectors are excellent. They crimp firmly and hold the wire well. They also come with some red & black heat shrink tubing that is not pictured. The only thing to note is that 4ga wire is large. It takes a bigger than the average electronics crimp tool to install these properly.

Features

Overview: Designed to provide a secure, crimp-on termination for 4 gauge power and ground cables. Each terminal includes a section of heat-shrink insulation. We recommend using a crimp tool to make the best connection.

Connection: When installing these crimp-on power rings, follow the instructions listed below:

  • Strip approximately 1/2" of insulation from the cable
  • Slide one length of the heat-shrink insulation over the cable, beyond the stripped portion
  • Push the wire (stripped end) into the connector's cavity (internal diameter: 0.308")
  • Using a crimp tool, make a tight crimp, securing the wire inside the terminal
  • Slide the heat-shrink insulation over the power ring's crimped collar. Apply heat to cause the insulation to shrink and tightly adhere to the terminal and cable.
