Sam began the process by custom installing the Kenwood KRC-605 cassette receiver below the dash, powering the Pioneer TS-A4105 4"x10" speakers up front (one in the dash, the other below the cassette receiver). Kenwood's KDC-C661 CD changer provides six-disc entertainment from its spot in the rear hatchback area.
After completing some cosmetic work on the Hornet, Sam put "bass" and "more power" at the top of his wish list. He picked the Profile A3600XL 3-channel amp to provide power, sending two channels of 75 watts RMS to the Infinity Reference 610cs 6-1/2" components mounted in the rear side panels and a pair of custom-mounted Pioneer TS-A6986 6"x9" speakers. Sam designed and constructed an enclosure to house a Polk EX12 12" sub woofer (powered by the Profile's remaining 150-watt mono channel), with shelves extending out to house the Pioneer 6"x9"s.
Sam used MTX 8-gauge cable and a Phoenix Gold fuseholder to get power to the Profile amplifier, and wired Bass Blockers on the Pioneer 4"x10"s to keep distortion at a minimum. Sam installed the entire system himself on a limited budget, and plans on continuing to upgrade the system in the future. Check out the photos of this sweet little system in a beautiful ride. Nice job, Sam!

The Kenwood KRC-605 cassette receiver with a single Pioneer TS-A4105 4"x10" are custom-mounted on the Hornet's console.

The Hornet's rear side panels are home to Infinity's Reference 610cs 6-1/2" component system, powered by the Profile A3600XL 3-channel amplifier.

The Kenwood KDC-C661 CD changer and Profile A3600XL amp sit under the custom-made enclosure housing the Polk EX12 12" sub and the Pioneer TS-A6986 6"x9" speakers. (Check out the Kenwood cassette deck under the dash.)
