This is one of the latest upgrades to the home entertainment system. It drives the Klipsch RP5000f speakers in front along with the RP 400c center speaker. Along the ceiling are a pair of Klipsch R41SA Atmos speakers that pour the sound from the receiver all over the top of you. We still get by with our old Klipsch rear surrounds, (they're next on the list) and the bass is completed with the patriarch KSW-150 subwoofer that keeps on thumping it out. It's a humble system that we enjoy streaming 4k movies, or even listening to music through HEOS. This receiver does it all. The volume control takes a little getting used to, but once you get past that, the sound quality is awesome.

The time had come to upgrade my old Devon AVR-2308CI receiver. The Denon AVR-S760H was a great complement to my new 4K TV. providing all the new audio formats and connectivity options available today. I was unsure if 25 watts per channel less power than my old receiver would be a negative, but I can't find a good reason not to love this receiver.
Pros: Great value for the average home theater system.

Denon Refurbished Receiver
Richard from Mansfield, PA on 12/20/2022
I just connected my Denon AVR-S760H on 12-19-22. The entire process from Purchase to delivery, to set -up assistance (needed not a real techie) and the Set up Assistant display was flawless. It started w/a small problem, had one wire in the wrong place. A quick call to Crutchfield (Jake) & in less than 5 min. the unit functioned as it should. I was then able to follow the set up which is really effortless. I was impressed w/the units speaker test in that its a step by step with each speaker location, the AVR plays a test until you proceed to the next speaker, allowing (for unplugging and switching your speakers to right position-my wires weren't exactly correct w/speaker positions) Awesome, as my replaced AVR just ran a test on all five without staying on one location, rapidly going thru all 5 speakers. I played w/music and movies and as of 1 day/night use, I'm very satisfied with Denon & Crutchfield. I have 5 speakers placed and options for 2 more, that I made add as I decide how I want the unit to function. So Far a great product and responsive service. Knowledgeable for a novice like me.
Pros: Ease of set up and operation
Cons: None as of installation

This unit replaced a Denon integrated amp I purchased thru Crutchfield about 9 years ago. After one week the unit is operating great. I appreciate the upgrade in technology built into the unit allowing me to stream radio and music applications. The HEOS technology is terrific. The Audyssey mic marry's the acoustics of the room to the sound system. It sounds amazing. The tech support at Crutchfield and the fair pricing is why I buy all my equipment from them now. The techs are extraordinarily helpful. I'll never go anywhere else.

Denon AVR-S760H (factory reconditioned)
Having only used it for a week but its been a nice upgrade to the old unit. I like the dual zone ability and options to balance the levels automatically (boost voices, level out different inputs). Would be nice if there was a master power button to shut both zones (and thus the unit) off, but it appears you have turn each off separately. Would be helpful if there were 2 power lights so you can tell from a distance which zones are on or off. Setup was an issue... NO documentation comes with it. There is supposed to be a quick start guide online but I never found it I did find one for a similar model but its way too hard to find manual and quick start online. First try setting up and the setup assistant wouldn't move past the first few screens. Also couldn't access some setup menus (network settings, etc.) I had to find in the online manual how to do a factory reset. Once done, it worked fortunately.
Pros: Dual zone, Auto level compensation, app control, blocking unused inputs
Cons: No master power (to turn off both zones)

Replacement for 27 year old AVR
Oscar from Long Island, NY on 9/7/2022
Good value for the money, it was the most affordable AV receiver I found with a built in MM phono preamp and a second zone. For best results download the manual before setting up. The setup routine is straight forward. I am using this with vintage speakers, JBL 4312As and Advent Baby IIs. Second zone is set up with outdoor speakers. This receiver does a great job decoding different surround modes for playback through 4 speakers. Turntable also sounds great. Unit is in new condition physically. The only clue this is a refurbished unit was the need to do a factory reset to wipe out previous settings before running setup. Plays nice with my tv and all other equipment. Remote is simple and well laid out. Did not bother with the heos or remote app, did not bother to set up bluetooth either. This receiver can be set up to be as "smart' or "dumb" as you want, it works great either way.

Antenna reception is ok, ethernet streaming is great through Helios HDMI interface and phone app, using two other audio input jacks for computers, Airplay works fine too. Helios/Denon app is the best way to set up various settings.

Good price, good quality, fully featured entry level HT.
Jacob from Flagstaff, AZ on 7/18/2022
Like others mentioned, this refurbished unit came without a scratch and fully functional. It was time I replaced a 16yr old Harman Kardon receiver (which also happened to be an open-box from the long gone Circuit City). HK doesn't really make receivers anymore, but I recognized Denon as the modern analogue for build quality. I don't have thousands of $$ to spend on HT equipment, but still needed something with modern HDMI capability, Dolby Atmos, and sound quality for a modest HT system. Setting up the S760H was a breeze. What normally took me a couple hours to set up sound levels and EQ took only a few minutes effortlessly with Audyssey, and did a job about as good as any. After that you can choose from multiple surround modes, but have found letting the system pick automatically has given the best results. For those that insist on tweaking sound even further you can, and while I usually enjoy the process, I was impressed that the system did as good a job I could do myself. It might not get as loud as my HK receiver did, but that type of volume was never necessary for my typical home theater space. The only knock I would give the S760H is that it only provides 2 extra surround channels. You can configure which two those are, or instead use it as stereo for another room. That's fine with me as I only have a 5.1 setup. If you want to go big you'll need to spend more.

Quality, easy setup, and value for the money.
Spencer from Vienna, VA on 7/16/2022
I bought this Denon receiver to replace my last Denon receiver (which lasted a while but was sadly destroyed in an electrical storm). I have been using Denon products most of my music listening life and I find them reliable and of high quality. I looked into other brands, but the reviews and the price of this Denon plus my personal experience with this brand (my first Denon stereo survived HEAVY use for over 30 years, I have another Denon stereo, a Denon turntable... but I also have other brands and they are fine but my Denon pieces always last and become my favorite) convinced me to stick with Denon. This receiver was easy to setup, and sounds good. I haven't had a chance to really explore the new features or to listen to a myriad of musical genres yet, but so far I'm enjoying the easy setup and surround (I'm only using 5.1 at this time, but I have 2 new additional speakers and I will be attempting my first 7.1 soon!) The quality is evident, and even though this one is a reconditioned item, you wouldn't know it - everything is in perfect order and there are no visible scratches or anything like that. I always recommend Denon as a starting point to people who are new to audio equipment, but I would recommend this specific receiver to anyone.
Pros: Quality Easy setup Price is reasonable looks nice
Cons: Looks nice ("nice" not "wow" - some people want flashy and ultra modern looking equipment and while I understand that, there's nothing wrong with the way the Denon looks. It looks like the vast majority of receivers out there. I do enjoy some things that are more sleek or "cool" looking, and there are a couple receivers out there that do have some really nice visual appeal. The Denon is more unobtrusive and less centerpiece-flash-wow-that-everyone-gravitates-to-when-they-walk-into-a-room).

Doesn't work well with Amazon music
Martin from N Myrtle Bch, SC on 7/13/2022
The receiver works fine. The Denon app does not play well with Amazon music. You are not able to play from your favorites list. When you buy a reconditioned receiver you do not have the warranty from the manufacturer for two years. It would be worth spending the extra $50 and getting a new unit with a new warranty.
Pros: Receiver works fine.
Cons: Because this was a reconditioned unit it did not come with any manuals or paperwork. It was supposed to come with labels for the cables and it did not.

I bought this to upgrade from a old Onkyo unit. I did a lot of research and decided to take a chance on this unit with the added features and the customer reviews of it. It was delivered on time and for a reconditioned unit it didn't have a scratch or even a fingerprint on it. It does not come with a manual but a quick call to Crutchfields support help got me in the right direction. Bad experience
Gary from Omaha, NE on 6/22/2022
The Denon AVR-S760H (factory reconditioned) receiver errored out about 2 hours after we turned it on. The speaker wiring protection shut the unit off. We checked the speaker connections and it happened again. Then, it happened again within the span of three hours. I called Crutchfield technical support and explained what happened. The technical support representative told me to remove all speaker wires from the back of the unit to see if the problem happens again. I told the representative that removing the speaker wires to see if the problem happens again is a waste of my time because the unit is designed to have speakers attached to it. Then, the representative told me that because I didn't want to cooperate with his troubleshooting technique, he would swap the unit out one time only. Why would I want to potentially get stuck with another bad unit? I sent the unit back for a refund.

I ran the room correction software and the system sounded terrible. The subwoofer level was way too high, It sounded very boomy and could barely make out the dialog. I moved the subwoofer level from -4.5 to -7.0. Now it sounds much better. I streamed some music I'm familiar with to tweak the level. The first receiver had some background noise issue for about a minute when turned on. Crutchfield gladly sent me a replacement and it seems to be fine. This replaced a flagship Yamaha from around 12 yrs ago. I only replaced it to get earc and 4k pass thru. This receiver is a bit of a step down in build quality.
Pros: eARC , 4k 8k video. Rich sound
Cons: Room correction wasn't good for my room and system

Kevin from Conroe, TX on 6/13/2022
Nice product, couldn't tell it was used or reconditioned in any way. It can do so much that it can be confusing to figure out, the manual is 284 pages. However I just wanted to be able to run the 5 built in ceiling speakers in my new house with my TV, and listen to music on the 2 outside, and that was set up pretty easily. I can play my Serius XM stations outside and control from my phone outside using HELIOS, which is convenient. Still need to figure out how to play my Apple box with more volume without having to turn it way up. I had to set up the Apple TV box on the blue ray HDMI port.

This has turned out to be a terrific receiver at a very good price...even if you pay full retail. The display is extremely basic, but tells you what you need to know. Set-up was a breeze, with the unit guiding you through every step. I was very happy with my previous Yamaha, but this sounds every bit as good.
Pros: Easy set-up, great sound and value for the price.
Cons: A bit heavy, and recommends a huge amount of space for ventilation.

I am giving it four stars because I just got it. So far, I really like it. Its just what my barroom needed. I have zone 2 hooked up to my outdoor speakers which rocks! Great receiver so far.
Pros: WiFi, Blu-tooth, HDMI ports, optical and zone 2.
Cons: No manual, Not enough RCA jacks for sacd player and it could be a little more powerful but its okay for what I am using it for.

Impressed
Christopher from Wake Forest, NC on 5/21/2022
Very impressive AVR...the sound and separation is so much better than my older Sony unit. Once I used the sound balancing microphone it really made the difference. For a refurbished unit..it looks like factory fresh..not a scratch or finger print on it.
Pros: As new..great sound.
Cons: None

Great
Darryl from Memphis, TN on 5/20/2022
Receiver works great, no complaints as of yet; new Jamos speakers sound great. I give 4 instead of 5 stars because of no optic out put; this may be due to the amplification configuration
Pros: Wide range of options
Cons: No optical output

Great Receiver
William from Round Rock, TX on 5/12/2022
Fast delivery and no problems. This receiver is the best I've ever had. I've used Yamaha and top of the line Sony and this blows them all away. I'm a senior vet and couldn't afford a new one so I tried a factory reconditioned and it's awesome. Will shop again at Crutchfield .. very happy.

Denon AVR-S760H (factory reconditioned)
Crutchfield customer from Davenport, FL on 5/5/2022
The Denon AVR-S760H is excellent value, with many features such as eARC, phono input, video upscaling, etc., found on more expensive receivers. The Audyssey speaker calibration setup was easy, and produced a superior home theater sound than my more expensive Onkyo, using their AccuEQ system, or by manual speaker calibration.
Pros: Very affordable, with features galore such eARC, to match your eARC smart TV.
Cons: Select LFE + Main, rather than just LFE, during subwoofer mode setup to ensure all signals are output from subwoofer, as LFE is dependent on sound modes or input signals.

Despite being a factory refurb, this showed up in perfect condition. Works as described, with relatively easy setup. I've only had it for a couple weeks, but am very happy with it so far. Will update if I run into any bugs. No scratches or dents.
Pros: Easy setup Clean menus More detailed Audessy setup than some other starter AVRs.

Avoid this... Spend am extra 1-200 and upgrade your experience 10x.
Anthony from Phoenix, AZ on 4/19/2022
Sounds is clean but lacks power. New samsung tv, 4k firestick, = a confused reciever that can't properly control items. If I turn off the TV the stereo turns off then turns back on. I've researched the issue and turns out many turns out many experience similar issues. My wife tossed the box day 1. Would like to upgrade. :(
Pros: Black, digital radio.
Cons: Lacks Power Confused algorithms lead to issues Teens not to trigger powered sub
