Decent, but flawed.

I was looking for a soundbar mount for my new LG S90 to pair with my new LG 65" G3. I like that it was adjustable once installed.both up and down as well as forward and backward. Installation was reasonably straight forward. It was somewhat difficult to move the TV with the soundbar attached back onto the TV mount. I suppose you could do it with two people but I was lucky to have two helpers who lifted the TV while I provide support for the soundbar. I would not describe this as a "heavy duty" mount. I believe it advertises it can work with sound bars up to 20 pounds. The S90 is about 13 pounds and I can't imagine a heavier unit being supported adequately. The ability to "slide" the mount up and down after installation depends on the two vertical "rods" which "stay in place" with a tension lever (not a set screw). I want to have the sound bar as snug as possible to the bottom of the TV and I noticed that after setting it up that way, the entire unit "slipped" down overnight, perhaps 1/2 inch. I adjusted it back up, but it slides back down. I can live with this gap, but it is not my preference. All in all, I am living with it, but I wish there were a more "heavy duty" version with the same adjustment capabilities.

Excellent solution for soundbar mounting. Built for a heavier soundbar like the newer ones entering the market (e.g. Samsung HW990D). This is a superior product built with quality and creative thought.

Dont Buy This Product.. If you have an 85" TV

This product states is up to 90" TVs on product details. Unfortunately that is NOT the case. I spoke with SANUS customer service and this was confirmed. Furthermore, I'm also disappointed with Crutchfield for not known this fact.

We've confirmed with Sanus that this mount will work on a wide range of compatible 32" to 90" TVs, but they can't guarantee compatibility with all TVs within that size range because the positioning of a TV's mounting holes can vary. Don't buy if your soundbar is close to 20 pounds

An earlier one star review from David (Boulder, CO) got it right and I wished I had listened to him. My soundbar weighs less than his (18 pounds) and I had the same problem with the device not able to hold my soundbar in place via friction (why they don't have a locking mechanism is beyond me, a simple pin or something to make sure it doesn't slide). The soundbar would slowly start sinking once you had it flush to the TV. I am rating this 3 stars because it was a nice design if you have a light soundbar, with that said it won't work at all if you have something that weighs close to 20 pounds. I wouldn't buy this for any soundbar weighing over 10 to 12 pounds in my opinion. I called Sanus and they said they have never had this complaint before. I think they should do a review of their product (would not be hard to use weights on the bar) to determine what the product can actually support and update their specs. Kudos to Crutchfield for their wonderful customer support, they gave me a full refund for the product.

doesn't fit soundbar

A review of specs shows it would not fit the intended soundbar. LG SN11RG soundbar (backordered) has mount holes that are about 44 inches apart. SASB1 mount instructions indicate 35.5" max. Not sure why Crutchfield advised me to purchase this mount. I was waiting for the the soundbar to also be delivered and check whether the mount could somehow work. But the soundbar was delayed another 3 weeks (near the mount's 60 day return limit) so I cancelled the backorder. Now have to pay a fee to return the mount.

Not for bottom mount soundbars

This was one of the most difficult installations I have ever attempted due the fact that the brackets for use with my bottom mount soundbar were not only limited in adjustments but was very flimsy. I would not recommend this for someone with a A7000 Sony s/b

Very flimsy. Can't support the quoted weight.

I'm truly surprised this is rated so well. It says it supports a sound bar up to 20lbs, but I'd estimate that it would have trouble with one half that weight. The metal that attaches to the sound bar is flimsy, and bent with the weight of my 20lb sound bar. The vertical bars of this bracket use friction to support the weight, and and it isn't nearly strong enough either, so the sound bar slides down. I'll be returning this for a refund.

Works well paired with Sanus tv mount (VLF528). VERY happy with this purchase. Insure that the soundbar mount keeps the soundbar itself from contacting the lower portion of the tv. This will eliminate any rattling that may occur with speaker vibrations.

Clever design, but difficult installation with Sony HT-Z9F

This is a pretty clever design in that it adjusts not only up and down, but also depth-wise. Installation was a bit tricky with my Sony HT-Z9F as the power cord and a little plastic tabs on the sound bar end up right in the way of the bracket so it's difficult getting everything tight. I ended up using a hacksaw to remove the plastic tabs that would be used with the Sony included wall mount brackets. This pained me to do with new/expensive stuff, but I didn't see any way around it. Also not sure why they make the bar that goes across the back of the TV so thick all the way across. It would be better if it was thin and just thicker at the end where the vertical poles go through so you might not need huge spacers, larger screws, washers, etc. I bought this particular mount because it looked to offer more flexibility and a higher probability of success than other cheaper, more static mounts, but in the end, it was still kind of a pain to get the job done. I'm not sure there's a way to know beforehand whether your combination of sound bar and mount will work without issue, but I can tell you that the combination of Sony HT-Z9F and this mount was kind of difficult due to placement of the wall mount tabs and the power cord on the back of the sound bar.

Not a typical mounting

I used the Sanus Sasb1 to mount yamaha sound bar Above tv vs standard below mounting due to unusual situation with clearance between fire place mantel, bulkhead & ceiling. It worked great!

Quality build, but bars with extruding pieces under screws do not work

This is a four star review because the build quality and versatility of this soundbar mount appears high, however, in my specific situation I was unable to use it due to my soundbar's design. As such, I am unable to say how well it looks once mounted and how easy it is to set up. The Sony HT-Z9F uses a rear mounting setup, which should work in theory, but part of the design has a plastic piece sticking out below the screw hole for mounting, resulting in this mount's bracket not being able to sit flush on the soundbar. If your soundbar has a similar setup, I would recommend looking for a different mount. As of this writing, I have not researched a suitable replacement so I cannot recommend one yet.

Looks great. It fits snug to the bottom of the television and moves when I rotate the TV. I had a Handyman install and he had no problem putting this together. I was very pleased with the service I received on the phone. Initially, we thought this mount would not work with my Bose sound bar because we couldn't find screw holes on the bar itself. I was prepared to return the mount and called Crutchfield for instructions for returning. The gentleman I spoke with asked me to send a picture of the bottom of the sound bar, he did some quick research and within minutes was able to tell me where the holes were. They are hidden under what appears to be a rubber foot pad. No where on the Bose site was this made clear. Also, he explained that we needed to use the L bracket so that the sound projected out instead of down. That sounds simple, but without his help my Handyman would have mounted it upside down. Thank you for the great price, quick ship and service after purchase.

Very cool mount

Sound bar mount does what it's supposed to do. Comes with all the hardware you could possibly need. Instructions are a little hard to follow. Holds my 12.5lb Harman Kardon enchant 1300 sound bar with no problems.

Amazing

This worked perfect for our Denon DHT-S716H. The instructions, intend for the mount to be placed beneath the TV mount. I was not able to get our TV mount fully removed, so I attached it externally and it worked perfectly. The ability to raise and lower the sound bar with this mount - and to move the sound bar in or out from the TV (when initially mounting it) was exactly what we needed. I do wish that it came with something to hide the cords from the sound bar to the TV, as our sound bar has 4 HDMI cords, plus the power cord, that can be seen.

This is a great idea and seems well-made. It comes well-packaged and with good instructions. However, I think perhaps they are trying to accommodate too great a range of sizes of speakers in a single mount, and it might be better if they offered a couple of different sizes. This did not work for my Polk TL2, which was not wide enough to hide the mount. The mount stuck out about 2" each side of the speaker. Your speaker should be at least 20" wide to conceal the mount at its narrowest configuration. I returned this (thanks to Crutchfield's awesome policy) and bought something that worked.
