Features
VM 95 Series Cartridge with Headshell: The Audio-Technica AT-VM95E/H combo kit includes the AT-VM95E dual moving magnet cartridge premounted on the AT-HS6BK headshell that is suitable for S-shaped or J-shaped tonearms.
- Dual Moving Magnet Stereo Catridge: This VM95 Series cartridge with 0.3 x 0.7 mil elliptical stylus fits half-inch mount turntables. The cartridge's special coil design delivers a powerful output level of 4.0 mV. It also offers excellent channel separation and low distortion for outstanding tonal quality. And since all VM95 Series share the same body, the stylus can be replaced with any of the six interchangeable AT-VMN95 replacement styli.
- Universal Headshell: The AT-HS6 is a universal 1/2" mount headshell for 4-pin turntable cartridges and S-shaped or J-shaped tonearms. It features an ultra-lightweight (9 g) aluminum die-cast body to keep vibration to a minimum and a finger lift to enable precise stylus placement. The headshell comes with color-coded lead wires and pre-mounted screws.

I have an old Technics SL-DD2 turntable. I know that in some cases "universal" may not apply. It seems to be compatible with other Technics SL-D models - does that mean this Headshell would fit and work well on the DD2?

Greetings Ethan. Thats a great question, I cannot give you a definite answer on without having the TT here. Perhaps Technics or Audio Technica can shed a bit more light. The DD2 Headshell looks to be a bit staggered, and this would be straight, not sure how the tracking would be effected. Finding a perfect matching headshell for the DD2 might be tough.

I got this as my first upgrade to a very old cartridge. This is an excellent cartridge at this price and you can get replacement styles for cheap. Are there things that could be better? Sure, but the average listener will be very pleased.
