    Features

Infinimount Shaft/Bracket System: The Infinimount Shaft/Bracket System allows you to mount the RetroRadio (M1B) radio in a variety of classic cars. This is because the shaft-knobs are not mounted to the unit, but instead connect to the unit via a harness so you can space the radio's shaft knobs at various distances (0.3125"-2.1875") from the chassis of the radio, using the supplied side-mount brackets. You can move these brackets forward or backward and move them in any direction. You can even cut, trim, or bend the brackets if needed. This shaft-style radio is a true problem solver for tough to fit applications due to its unique bracket system combined with small mounting size.

Faceplates & Knobs (sold separately): There are multiple vehicle specific faceplates & knobs available for the RetroRadio (M1B). In addition there are universal faceplates which allow you to use the integrated break away tabs to modify all aspects of height & width of the plate, and even drill in your own shaft holes to fit virtually any car.

Note: The RetroSound RetroRadio (M1B) does not come with a faceplate or knobs. A universal mounting plate or vehicle specific faceplate and knob set will be needed for installation.

LCD Display: The RetroSound RetroRadio (M1B) features an LCD with a digital read-out.The unit's LCD offers an ultra-wide, off-axis viewing angle and is daylight compatible. The LCD will display clock and tuner information. The color illumination of the LCD is white (fixed).

RDS AM/FM Tuner: The RetroSound head unit features a built-in RDS AM/FM tuner. The unit's tuner features 3 FM bands and 2 AM bands. A total of 30 AM/FM presets can be stored manually or automatically. Select between Local and Distant settings can aid in listening to weak FM radio stations or compensate for stations that have too strong of a signal. This unit's tuner can be set to USA or European tuning.

Built-In Bluetooth 5.0: The RetroSound radio is equipped with built-in Bluetooth 5.0 allowing you to make and receive phone calls wirelessly through the receiver; as well as stream music wirelessly from your Bluetooth-enabled smartphone to the head unit. The unit is compatible with most Bluetooth enabled mobile phones, including the Apple iPhone & Android smartphones. Before using your Bluetooth enabled device, it must be paired to the RetroSound receiver. You can only pair one device at a time with this unit. Once paired, when your Bluetooth device is in close proximity to the RetroSound receiver, the auto connection function automatically connects the two units.

    • Hands-Free Communication (HFP): The RetroSound receiver allows for wireless communication between the head unit and your Bluetooth enabled cell-phone. You can answer an incoming call from the head unit's front-panel control knobs. Incoming phone call information will be displayed on the unit's front-panel LCD and your music will be pause or muted. You will still use your phone to dial a phone number and then the call will transfer to the RetroSound radio. Use the included external microphone to speak into during your phone conversation, while the other party will be heard through your vehicle's speakers.
    • Wireless Audio Streaming (AD2P/AVRCP): The RetroSound head unit also allows you to play back stored music and  music apps from your Bluetooth-enabled phone or personal music player using a paired Bluetooth connection. Playback controls included Play/Pause, Stop, & Next/Previous Track. This unit does not display song/artist information from Bluetooth audio devices.
Note: Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the RetroSound receiver.

Aux Input: The universal shaft-style receiver features a 3.5mm auxiliary input connected to the rear chassis by 7" pigtails. The Aux input provides a connection for portable external audio sources such as a MP3 player or  CD player.

18W x 4Ch Amplifier: The RetroRadio (M1B) is equipped with a 18 watts x 4-channel RMS/40 watts x 4-channel Peak amplifier. An improved circuit board with built-in noise suppression delivers great sound. .

Preset EQ + Bass & Treble: The RetroRadio (M1B) features the following preset EQ curves (Classic, Pop, Rock, or Off) to customize your music listening. The Off mode activates manual Bass & Treble adjustment.

Balance & Fader Control: The Balance adjustment function allows you to adjust or pan the stereo sound from the left or right; this is helpful to compensate for the position of the driver in relation to the speaker locations. Adjustment range is 0 to 12. The Fader Control allows you to fade the sound from the front pair of speaker to your rear pair of speakers. Adjustment range is 0 to 12.

Turn-On Volume: You can set the RetroRadio (M1B) to power-on to the same volume level (0-46) every time, or let it default to the last volume when turned off.

Key Beep: When this function is enabled, every knob turn or button press will output a beep tone.

    Q
ITS SAYS BUILT IN BLUE TOOTH BUT ALSO SAYS THAT IT HAS AN AUX FOR PHONE HOOK UP. DOES THIS UNIT HAVE HANDS FREE WIRELESS BLUETOOTH?

    A
Greetings Shawn. Thank you for your question. Bluetooth built in would be for both hands free calling, and wireless music streaming. It also has an auxiliary input if you wish to connect a cord from your phone or MP3 player.

    Q
I see the dimensions for the front face of 1.5" tall and 3.5" wide. Are generic/universal dash bezels available? What is the width of the volume and tuner controls? If adjustable, what is adjustment range?
    todd  Mar 14, 2025
    1 answer
    A
Hey Todd, there are universal kit for these radios to house then in a standard DIN opening but this particular model does not appear to have such a kit. Since this radio was designed for classic cars and restoration projects, there are also vehicle specific bezels out there as well so if you are interested in going over options, we have advisors who can be reached by calling 1-800-324-9695 that can help go over your install and see what options we have.

    Q
Is there a way to adapt the 3.5mm aux jack to be able to play music from a USB flash drive?
    bskarter4  Jul 09, 2024
    1 answer
    A
There is not, B. You can use a digital media player like the Sony Walkman NW-A306 in the link below in place of a USB drive if you plan to use the AUX in. You can also consider upgrading to the RetroSound M2B in the second link below that features a USB input for media drives. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_158NWA306B/Sony-NW-A306-Walkman.html https://www.crutchfield.com/p_068RRM2BC/RetroSound-RetroRadio-M2B-Chrome-face-and-buttons.html

Hey Brandon, yes, knobs are included with your purchase along with possibly a dash trim piece if needed but this will depend largely on your vehicle. For details on installation please contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and give you the details on what you will need for an installation.

    Q
Does it have inputs for amplifiers?
    michael  Jan 27, 2025
    1 answer
    A
Hey Michael, the M1B does not have pre-amp outputs to let you add your own amps. You would need to explore the M2B series and higher for those. Also depending on the vehicle this is going in, and other additional features you may need, please contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and give you the details on what you will need for an installation. https://www.crutchfield.com/I-rET1c402/p_068RRM2BB/RetroSound-RetroRadio-M2B-Black-face-and-buttons.html?tp=49934
