what i have found out about the road scout is, if you dont know how to set it up correctly, then it's another overpriced radar/dash cam. it took me quite awhile to figure this thing out. I'm still a novice operator, this unit has so many different settings, i've had many detectors in my 50 yrs of driving a rig, this one you don't just plug in and drive. If you get it from a truckstop on your points as I have, its yours, can't trade it back in unless its defective then you have 30 days to get the same detector, unless you pay for 2 or 3 yrs extra time to trade it back for same unit. Just a warning drivers and I use this in my car only, it does not have stealth mode, officers with RDD will find you..

Quiet until it sounds an alert

Hooked up to my Jeep Nicely. False alerts silenced. Jeep Adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot monitoring not affected. Nice unit. Manufactured by Cedar Electronics, the same people who make Escort Radar Detectors.

Waste of money.

The dash cam portion started failing intermittently, but now is already totally gone. The radar detector is constantly false alerting, and there is no way to mark speed signs so they mute. There are speed camera and speed trap settings, but no way to mark a stupid radar sign that is not a threat.

Good combo unit

Well executed combination of radar detector and dash cam. Eliminated false alerts from vehicle collision avoidance systems that plagued my older Escort detector. Good quality camera images.
