Overview: The Midland 75-822 is a lightweight CB (Citizen Band) radio that can be used as a portable CB or quickly converted for mobile CB use with optional accessories (sold separately). The 75-822 provides 4 watts of output power, delivering maximum communication range.

Channels: The Midland 75-822 CB radio features 40 CB channels (26.965MHz - 27.405MHz), along with 10 Weather Channels (161.775MHz - 163.275MHz) for monitoring local weather and hazardous-conditions information. A dedicated front-panel button lets you quickly switch to Emergency Channel 9 and Information Channel 19. Channels can be scanned and selected, with up to 5 channels able to be saved in memory for quick and easy recall using the five "M" buttons on the radio. A Dual Watch function lets you quickly assign and switch between two channels that are far apart on the frequency band. The Last Channel function lets you recall the last channel used.

Portable & Mobile Modes: The Midland 75-822 CB radio can be configured for two operating modes:

• Portable Mode: The 75-822 includes two attachable battery compartments, one for rechargeable batteries and one for non-rechargeable batteries, that let you carry the CB radio with you for portable operation. A 7.25" detachable antenna with BNC connector is included for portable use.
• Mobile Mode:  A mobile power adapter is included that lets you use the 75-822 CB radio in a vehicle, ATV, or UTV. The mobile power adapter attaches to the base of the CB radio in place of the battery pack and features a lighter socket power adapter and a female UHF (SO-239) CB antenna connector on the end of a 45" coiled-cable. The antenna connector can be used with an optional Midland or aftermarket CB antenna (sold separately) that features a male UHF (PL-249) connector.

  Note: The included 7.25" rubber antenna will not work when using the Mobile Power Adapter; a full-size rooftop antenna must be used and is sold separately.

Battery Compartments: The Midland 75-822 includes two attachable battery compartments - one for rechargeable batteries and one for non-rechargeable batteries (batteries not included).

• Rechargeable Compartment: Holds 8 'AA' re-chargeable batteries (not included). Features a DC input for recharging batteries with the included AC to DC charger. The AC charger features an attached 6' cord and provides a 15VDC/100mA output.
• Non-rechargeable Compartment: Holds 6 'AA' non-rechargeable batteries (not included).

Controls: The Midland 75-822 CB radio features clearly labeled controls for easy use.

• Push-to-Talk: Pressing the PTT (Push-to-Talk) button lets you communicate with other CB users on the same channel.
• Squelch Control: A rotary dial lets you adjust the amount of squelch control until background noise disappears.
• On/Off/Volume: A rotary dial lets you power the CB radio On/Off as well as adjust the volume.
• Channel Up/Down: Steps through channels one at a time.
• Light: Turns the LCD backlight On/Off.
• LCR: Last Channel Recall lets you quickly switch to the last channel that was used.
• "M" (Memory): Each of the 5 Memory buttons can be used to store and quickly recall your 5 preset channels, as well as provide a second function:
  • M1: Switches to Emergency Channel 9 and Information Channel 19.
  • M2: Dual-Watch; lets you quickly switch between two channels without having to scan or press the Channel Up/Down multiple times.
  • M3: Starts and stops scanning through channels.
  • M4: Switches the radio between CB mode and Weather radio mode.
  • M5: Pressing and holding will Lock or Unlock the radio's controls.
• "F" (Function): This button is used to store stations to the M1-M5 Memory buttons.

LCD: A large backlit LCD provides information at a glance, including: displaying the Channel; lighting icons for each function, such as Weather Radio, Lock function, Scan function, etc.; and displaying both the Battery Power and Signal Strength via a 10-segment meter.

Built-in Mic/Speaker + External Jacks: The Midland 75-822 is equipped with a built-in microphone & speaker. The CB radio also features a top-panel 2.5mm microphone jack and 3.5mm speaker jack to connect an optional external speaker/microphone or headset (sold separately), freeing your hands for other tasks. An attached rubber cap keeps water and debris out of the jacks when not in use.

Belt-Clip: The Midland 75-822 includes a spring-loaded belt-clip so you can easily attach/detach the two-way radio to your hip. It also features an attached nylon lanyard to help prevent dropping the CB radio.
