Good enough stereo, easy to install, easy to use, good interface, good enough sound. However I bought this in september and recently the apple carplay has stopped working, when i connect my phone to apple carplay it will only work for a little bit and then randomly cut out. my phone will still be connected because it charges, I tried using a different cable just in case it was a malfunctioning cable. When apple carplay disconnects the icon to go back to carplay doesn't even work. pretty frustrating as this was the whole point I got this stereo.

No Android Auto

The unit itself works fairly well. Tuner, interface, steering wheel controls, etc. However there have been a few issues that really eerk me after having this unit installed for a few years now. 1. DOES NOT WORK WITH ANDROID AUTO!! I have a personal droid phone and a work iphone. When my droid is plugged in the unit will often crash and shut android auto down. This usually happens about a mile before you need to make a turn on your navigation so you frantically have to unplug your phone and load Waze/google maps. This never happens when Apple Play is being used, only android auto. I've read on forums that BOSS does not have a license to run Android Auto so perhaps this is a software issue? 1A) after hours of trying to get this to work, the voice from the navigation does not work when Waze/google maps is being used on either android auto or apple play. The music just gets quiet when you need to make a turn or another notification is being displayed. This kinda stinks because you need to look at the screen to see the notification rather than hearing "police reported ahead" or "in one mile, turn right". 2. I've always had issues with the microphone. I ran the wire so that its right behind my steering wheel and whenever i make a call, no one can hear me speak. I can hear them, they can't hear me. I tried to replace the microphone twice and neither time fixed the issue. I've never connected the backup camera so i don't have any feedback on

I'm not sure. It seems easy to use and all. But according to the tech that helped me, after exhausting all other 12 volt sources, he says this Boss in particular,?? "Doesn't supply enough amperage to run 2 amplifiers". I'm paraphrasing there, but I have the transcripts lol..It would have been nice to know that it can NOT run a factory amplifier and an amp for the sub i bought, before I bought it. But, I feel like either the radio or possibly the pac interface has an issue. Or, the techs that helped me, didn't quite understand what was going on at the pac interface maybe? I love buying stuff here but this entire experience is why this radio gets 3 stars. If thats true, that it can't run 2 amps, that should definitely be listed.
Pros: Slim and saves space, which is good for those of us who have to run a big gawdy interface module behind it in the dash.
Cons: Can't run 2 amps? Would love some clarification on that one.

Bad costly experience

Bought this with the metra interface pre-wired. Installed it myself and then 2 months later the ecm on my 06 colorado got fried. Take it to the shop, they replace the ecm and instantly the new ecm gets fried as well. Repair shop mechanic tells me it's the after market radio. Had to remove it and send it back. Wouldn't recommend.

Was skeptical to go outside of my comfort zone (JVC, Kenwood faithful customer) bought this head because of the 80x4 power. Bought new speakers as well. Absolutely love it! Easy to use display. Did I mention the 80x4? I paired this head with 2 pairs of Infinity 6.5's. Yup, sounds great! I highly recommend!
Pros: Ease of use 80x4 watts Full of features iPhone/Android compatible EQ Balance/Fader has reset to instantly go back to default. Front/Rear cam compatibility was another factor for buying.

Honestly I will say I'm very pleased with the performance of this radio aside from its cheaper price. I purchased the radio only a months old and have had it since. This radio has been through the ringer with going through a couple vehicles. Had in my 02 Escalade with 4-12s radio was a monster and delivered all the right settings to tweak those things as needed. I then bought my recently truck in the past year and put it in there (2011 Ram 1500 big horn). I know people have mentioned the radios flaws as when your working with the negative cable off it will reset the radio. It's not a big deal it's super easy to go back to what you recently had set. I have ran into issues with usb CarPlay which I love! But it's got its flaws. The radio seems to kill phone cords connected to it after awhile. Not a big deal as I get phone cords for like $5. Shes still kicking in the year 2024. Overall its good features have outweighed the flaws for me.

The install went so fast. Maybe took me 45 mins. I didn't run the camera wire yet because it's freezing outside. But I am so happy with this. It took my car to the next level. For the CarPlay wire, I removed my 12 v cigarette lighter and bought a usb that fits right in the spot. It looks factory and works perfect.

I am at a loss for words with this radio. It worked for maybe 4 months and then completely gave up. Now it will only play audio from my subs and not my speakers. It will fix itself occasionally but just not work again. I am very disappointed with this radio and wish I had never bought it.

Overall, it does what it was meant to do. Just three days into it being installed I've had the screen go black once had to turn the ignition off and turn it back on the sound quality isn't the best at all no bass at all the stock radio had better bass overall it's decent, but I would not buy it again.

Purchased this in Spring of 2021. Worked well for about 18-20 months. Then, slowly started to crap out - the screen would freeze which would require a hard reset. (Which, of course deleted all saved settings/radio presets). Now, a reset is needed every time I get into the car, and there are times where the unit won't even respond to the hard reset.

Easy to use, very responsive, and caused a noticable increase in audio quality of my stock speakers in a 2006 Honda CR-V. I would recommend (at least on this specific car) to not even bother with an aftermarket mounting kit - you can use the OEM factory one with this radio very easily. Two bolts on either side.

Only issue I have is. I'll have the radio up to 24 (on volume) and it sounds great. I'll get a call or I call out and once I'm off the phone the volume is still at 24 but you can barley hear it. So I'll have to turn it up to max to even hear it. Just stinks because I have a Jeep and when the doors are off I can not hear my radio

Overall happy with the product, installation and Crutchfield tech support (Thanks to Ian & Nick). Ordered with a live agent as this was my first attempt for this type of install and I had a few questions. On receipt of the unit, harness and mounting kit, I ended up having to place a 2nd order the next day and charged shipping for Posi Connectors, as the live agent neglected to mention this as an option for attaching wires between the unit and harness (highly recommend these connectors for ease of use and tightly secured connections). Also, even though I specifically asked about the Steering wheel controls connectivity, I was not advised this unit is not compatible with the phone pick up/hang up buttons nor that the built in car microphone is not compatible, found all this out on installation. The unit did come with a plug in/dash mount which I had to use. During the install I had to call tech support related to some of the cable connections specific to the backup camera and USB car play, the harness instructions were not very clear on the RCA and USB connections, both worked as expected once clarified. The Metra frame kit for the dash is not the greatest, the Boss unit can only be installed behind the frame, which leaves a gap. Ideally the mounting bracket screw should have more connection/screw options to the Boss unit and be more accessible for tightening once in place as positioning is difficult as is.

I'll admit that I was skeptical of Boss Audio receivers before purchasing and installing the BV800ACP in my 2015 Mazda MX-5. However, I wanted CarPlay so I took the plunge and this receiver delivers outstanding features for the price. The install was easy: I've installed many car receivers and the wiring diagrams were clear and easy to follow. The screen is clear and bright, and there are many features (and therefore menus and sub-menus) available. The touch screen can be a little finicky at times, but generally does what it is supposed to. The sound is also very good with great stereo separation - it has given new life to my 3-year-old speakers that I thought needed to be replaced. Factor in the Boss/Crutchfield warranty on this unit, and this is really a pretty amazing receiver for the price.
Pros: - Detailed wiring instructions - Multi-color key illumination - Many menu options - Pretty intuitive to use/figure out - Great sound - Works perfectly with CarPlay - Works with my existing AWSC-1 steering wheel controller
Cons: - Usage instructions are just OK - Many (too many?) choices in the settings - All settings lost if battery gets disconnected - Takes a long time to "index" a 64GB USB drive full of music (but works great once it finally finishes)

Ok if you wanted to know just how easy this was to install and use well I hope I can let you know that this rocks! I have done a few radio's in my day and my son wanted this for Apple play well, yes we installed it, yes we called Crutchfield customer tech support and after a minor bump we are now enjoying this Boss BV800ACP. I installed this in a Jeep Patriot 2016 very clean and was very good installing myself. This radio head unit does it all for what we need and my son is very happy he knows what it takes to do the next radio in his next cars. Overall great install and great head unit for something simple and with a big screen. This really has everything you can imagine and more I get to know it I learned something this Boss can do.

I love this radio, it took me a little while to install, I'm no professional by any means, but once I got past the nervousness of cutting on my truck dash it went pretty well. It makes a great addition to my 2002 Ford F-150 Crew cab. It sounds great and looks just as good. I won't but stereo equipment anywhere else.

6 stars on the pre wired harness. I opened the box and this head unit jumped into my dash. Sounds great, looks great, and everything I needed was in the kit, including vehicle specific instructions. All documentation backed up thru pdf files, there was literally no way I could screw this up. The interface used to pick out equipment that fits is phenomenal. Anybody that has purchased car parts online knows what a nightmare that can be. Crutchfield is the opposite of that.
Pros: All fit and function is mapped out before you hit checkout.
Cons: Alot of bad reviews from people who can't read instructions.

I got this to replace the factory equipment on my old '92 Toyota 4runner. Installation was easy with excellent instructions. Had a minor issue getting the old mounting brackets to fit the new unit, but a quick call to tech support instructed me to remove the outer trim piece on the Boss unit and to bend back several metal tabs on the brackets. After that, getting the new unit into the vehicle was simple. Very pleased with the Android Auto integration and other features. Now, I plan to install a similar unit on my 2001 MR2 Spyder.

This unit is everything it was described to be. I'm very happy with the features and performance. Touch screen is very responsive and the sound is awesome. Not happy with the headunit. The unit randomly restarts while driving and sometimes freezes. The phone audio is very poor with Android auto. Waze notifications and directions are near silent even when cranking up the phone and head unit source volume. I'm going to just trash this unit and pay more for a better unit.

Got everything in place, but no sound! Called Tech Support for advise. The problem lay with the speaker, not the radio. Discovered later that front left speaker had come free and fell into door panel. Tested speaker using 9V battery, put speaker back in place, and sound came on! I really like all the features that the radio offers! BTW - Factory installed woofer only measured 3 inches in diameter and was held in place by a single screw and bracket. Also discovered that no tweeter was installed. Needless to say, I just ordered a set of new lower front speakers from Crutchfield!!
Pros: Good buy! Very pleased! Goodbye to factory stereo and cheap speakers!

First review I've written in a long time on something. I've had this radio for a while now. I'm not impressed at all. First had to be returned because the backup camera image kept flipping upside down randomly. The replacement one doesn't switch back to full volume after backing up. The screen freezes constantly and the only way to get it to come back is turning my truck off and restarting it, kinda hard when I'm on the highway. Apple car play function is horrible, the images displayed for albums aren't even the same artist most of the time. Bluetooth isn't that great so I go through settings to turn of connection and it still shows a message about allowing connection. Overall not happy with purchase. Spend a little more and get something better if you can.

Make sure you ordered the wiring connections and dash kit. All the wires get a tad overwhelming if you don't!. Stiff drink would also work. You do get what you pay for. This is not a bad unit, but not a great one! It has limitations in what and how it can do...and how it does it! That said, I am happy with it!

2008 Mitsubishi Raider
It doesn't fit my vehicle. I bought this with aaaaaallll the fixin's from here, but it doesn't fit my 2008 Raider. The wiring harness is awesome, so I know it works, (and stick-tap to your tech who built it) but the mounting kit fill-ins for the dash enclosure don't fit the unit because of the unit's bezel. The mounting kit is also the worst. The instructions are basically nonexistent - unless your job is installing car stereos, then I'm sure they're great - but that's not what Crutchfield is supposed to be about. This is DIY - so big fail on the mounting kit. The dash enclosure doesn't shut because the units is about 10mm too wide. It's July 4th and I'd planned to be on the road for a week, but now I'm stuck with an aux input on a 14 yr old radio. One star because of Crutchfield tech harness assembly is amazing. All I wanted was Car Play. Super disappointed y'all. Not cool.

Audio controls suck

Works well, but has two fundamental issues. First most annoying is each app has a different volume setting and you can only adjust the volume while thar is running. The main volume defaults to a reasonable level. The rest are so low you might think they are now working at all. Everytime you restart the vehicle you will need to set them again. Meaning you must do the dialogs for each app to adjust the volume. The second problem is the Bluetooth for calls with spontaniously drop. After that all calls are going through you phone speaker. You need to unplug and replug your phone to reconnect, but then all your volumes reset again... These issues are sp annoying I dropped this review to two stars from five.

Great stereo and options for the price. Android auto hiccups sometimes but overall a solid upgrade. My only cons are the fitment and install instructions were a little lax, i wish you could customize the backround with uploaded pictures, and the trim that comes around the stereo had to be removed because it does not fit hight wise in the double din. Crutchfield made it very easy to wire with thier pre-wired harness.

2013 Mazda CX-5
Pretty happy overall especially for the price. Put in my wife's 2013 Mazda CX-5 no problems and all the steering wheel controls work with the adapter recommended by Crutchfield. Kind of crazy this radio cost less than 300 bucks and has a higher screen resolution than the stock CarPlay unit in my 2022 Nissan Leaf. Screen on this Boss is 1376x720 pixels. If you're looking to get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in an older car and not looking to break the bank this is a great choice. Hopefully the unit will hold up and stand the test of time.

Had this for a year and 1 month and it started freezing and going black a few months ago. It has progressively gotten worse. As soon as I hit the volume button it freezes and goes black. And it won't come back on until I turn off my car for about 30 mins. And after it comes in I'm lucky if I can get at least 3 songs before it freezes and blacks out again.

The radio will not show track info (RDS). Contacted BOSS they said that they left it out of some units because they could not get the chips, but did not say anything about it. The back up camera display needs to be adjustable, it is barely viewable and not functionally equivalent to the original. Audio is good, but really needs to have the subwoofer amp built is as the original did.

A very nice head unit. I replaced a 2000 Chevy factory radio with this unit. Works great , hooked up front and rear camera and they work great. After getting all the settings and preferences set up I am very please with its performance. Apple play is awesome. Hey Siri makes hands free calls by microphone. Crutchfield made my harness for plug and play install. Just wired up camera power wires and done. I would recommend this product.

Poor FM reception. Limited features, expected a little more than basic sound settings. Normal listening volume setting is almost maxed out. Very disappointed with free mounting kit. Had to buy black foam to seal side gaps between the kit's bezel ring and dash opening so the unit's steel mounting tabs weren't visible. Also needed to remove Boss' bezel ring as kit's bezel ring wouldn't fit over it and added more foam to fill this gap.
Pros: Easy Android play phone setup.
Cons: Poor FM. Basic sound features. Mounting kit fits poorly.

Not a fan of this radio. CarPlay doesn't stay connected. Must turn truck off and back on several times a day to get the radio to play. About two months of good functionality and then suddenly the radio doesn't turn on. Once on, no sound, restart vehicle and it eventually plays.

Its not terrible, but def. not great. It was suggested by a rep as a replacement for a Sony unit i was looking at that was out of stock. She said it would be equivalent but was not. You would think that with a "premium" unit, that it would come with a built in crossover. It has several upper level features, but at the end of the day, i had to buy a new amp that had a built in crossover b/c this one did not. Also, the screen clarity/color balance is pretty poor. I purchased this for my wife's car and am comparing it to the Kenwood unit i have in my truck. When you are viewing maps on GPS or back up camera, it leaves a lot do be desired. There is not a whole lot of clarity there.

I installed the Boss BV800ACP recently and it is so-so. Going back I would have gone with a different brand and spent a little more. The head unit has some annoying idiosyncrasies including that it doesn't remember what you set the default volume to and it always seems to go back to some system default. This is particularly annoying for the Apple Car Play as Siri's voice and navigation volumes are too low and you have to quickly turn them up with she's speaking. Similarly, the fade feature and other audio settings go back to baseline each time you start the car (and yes, I have the yellow constant voltage wire connected). It does remember your radio favorites and bluetooth connected devices, just not the other stuff. The tuner does not work well and I get only have the stations I usually do. I also get echoing when using Apple Car Play to make calls, but not when connected via bluetooth. And, if you want to use Apple Car Play you have to plug your phone in to the USB cable, it doesn't work via bluetoohth. The good side of that is that your phone is always charged. A positive is that it has a second USB output for charging other devices. I do like that you can mute the screen and audio and I was able to connect it to my steering wheel controls.

5 stars for the stereo but more importantly, 5 stars for the customer service. The stereo is awesome. Fits perfectly in my 04` F150 with the help from Rodell. He gets 5 stars. He asked questions and listened. He gave me options but didn't try to up sell on items I didn't need. I also called tech support because the Boss install instructions were lacking. Again, Tech support listened and walked me through the issue on a Sunday morning and he was very professional. I will definitely go through Crutchfield again. Don't let the prices sway you. It's worth the ongoing support you get.

Having never used this brand I was a bit skeptical at first but it turns out that this is a great unit!! Install was a breeze and the Apple car play is awesome as well!! With all the options to use to play music with this unit I do not miss my CD player at all. Setting up my sub woofers was a breeze and let me tell you about the sound..IT CRANKS!! I will be recommending this brand to friends as a replacement option for sure.

Works well. A little clunky switching back and forth between the radio tuner and carplay maps. Thought it was worth noting that although it says you will lose your external temperature display, (2012 F-150) I did not. It continued working, which was a pleasant surprise.

I wish I had read these reviews prior to purchasing the unit in August 2020. After buying the unit,installation kit, modifying the dash and installing it. It experienced the same events (skipping stations, then the touch screen failing) 3 months after the warrenty expired. The representative at Boss was very nice, but stuck to his company policy of a one year warrenty. I would not recommend this unit to anyone, and avoid the Boss Company in general as they really could have helped me out with unit.

Installed this unit in my C6 Corvette, replaced OEM receiver. Wires were well marked and install went fairly easy. Speaker for phone is very clear. I have used the Apple Play with Google maps. I have connected Bluetooth with Spotify for my favorite music. Looks good and works great !!

good quality radio. lots of features. the touch screen is very good quality i dont have any issues with that. my brother installed it and he said to buy the wires pre-connected or something like that because it's very tedious. only thing i don't like is the volume buttons and that its not a knob. makes it kinda hard to change volume while driving but you get used to it. the bluetooth is also kind of touchy. it will sometimes not connect to my phone and i'll have to forget devices on both the radio and my phone and start over but this doesn't happen often. the carplay is good too. charges phone while connected too. i've noticed sound quality is a bit better when using carplay. i dont use radio or anything other than bluetooth or carplay.

Pretty much match up the wires. Almost plug and play. Works perfectly, got everything soldered and installed in 30 minutes. This unit replaced a defective OEM unit on my 09 Silverado 2500 non-Bose edition. I chose the cheaper install kit, it gave me everything I needed to install the unit. Very straight forward, this is my second car stereo install in my whole life.

Purchased as I needed navigation and all the brand name systems were out of stock so was not expecting much... lack of volume knob and sound level re-set to standard level every ignition cycle is fairly annoying, some glitches and quirks but not too bad, unfortunately stopped working at 6 months so I would not recommend.

Great receiver for the price. I ended up buying a back up camera off another retailer that had a 26ft cord so it could reach all the way in my 15 Sorento. Overall, long install due to tight clips on the dash, but I'm happy with the result

2003 Dodge Ram 2500
I bought this to replace my factory radio in my Dodge Ram 2500. I have never heard of Boss until I purchased one for my daughters Honda Ridgeline. She loves streaming from her phone and has been very happy with the receiver. She is an Apple user and was impressed that the nav shows up on her screen. I am an android user and Android Auto just doesn't seem to be functional. I use Waze and still haven't been able to get it to pop-up on the screen. The sound is decent with aftermarket speakers but I really think it would be better with an amplifier and subwoofer. I rarely drive the truck so I doubt I will actually add them. Possibly the amp in the future but a sub is unlikely unless I can convince myself that a sub alone will improve the sound.
Pros: Cheap. Small enough to make installation easy.
Cons: Sound quality is marginal. Does not offer a complete multi-media experience.

I'd give it a 4.5 stars, it's because I'm not able to use the pickup/hang up or push to talk on my steering wheel. This is a known problem with Boss Decks, I do wish it would have been mentioned, not that it would have swayed my decision, but it would be good to inform customers. The tech did say he will keep me updated if there is a fix. Also for other 2014 Subie XV owners. I removed the cigarette lighter, added the CarPlay & chargers USB ports in its place. Looks better!!

If you're looking for a device to just use CarPlay, the BV800ACP will be fine. The radio functions on the BV800ACP are weak at best. This device does not display any information that most radio stations transmit (RDS) - song name, artist, name of the station, etc. Also the user interface with regard to setting up and playing favorite stations is clunky. This information was not provided by the Crutchfield advisor I spoke to on the phone. I ended up going to the retail store in Charlottesville, and Crutchfield employee Chris came up with an excellent solution. I returned the BV800ACP, and purchased the Pioneer DMH-1770. The Pioneer is a much better unit with regard to the radio. It does display RDS, and has a very intuitive user interface. The DMH-1770 also comes with a microphone (installed near the rear view mirror) that makes the sound quality of phone calls much better. I wasn't happy about having to pay for two installations, which could have been avoided if the phone advisor knew more about the BV800ACP, but in the end, thanks to Chris I am pleased with final result.

Exceptional for the Price

For the price, the radio is really great. I used Crutchfield's Ready Harness service, so it was easy to connect and took less than 30 minutes. The display is high resolution and responsive, if not a little to saturated in the colors. The built in operating system is ok, but really I'm just going to use carplay all the time.

I love this stereo, it runs smoothly and makes my aftermarket speakers sound amazing. It definitely makes my dash look way better than having a factory stereo. The install was super easy and simple, only thing I recommend is to actually remember to install the mic that comes with it before you realize you didn't until you have everything installed lol, other than that and the minor setbacks I would recommend this to anyone just getting into this stuff, I know there are way better ones but for the money this thing isn't bad.

Got this for my wife's 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited without Alpine Audio. Great description of the radio and features so you can trust that info is all correct. Jeeps are pretty easy to take apart so the install went quickly and with the pre-wired harness is a snap. The dash fit kit on this is a little tricky to adjust the angle of the radio but after a couple tries of taking the dash on and off, it came out great. This is our first radio with Apple Car Play and it is perfect for her. Your USB cords and mic can easily route out right above the radio to your accessory try so perfect spot there too. No we just need to upgrade the speakers!

2013 VW Passat. Installation was super easy. The unit started out great but now after owning it for 6 months, it randomly goes to a black screen with the side lights still on. Everything lights up like it's supposed to but no audio, no back up camera, no way to reset it unless I turn the car off. I'd recommend it for a cheap unit to put in a car that you're trying to flip, but not for a daily driver like mine where music is a must.

So far, so good. Installed this radio in 2014 Ram 1500. Could not be happier withe the purchase. Looks like OEM install. At the same time I added an aftermarket backup, also fantastic. With all of the correct recommended install accessories I kept my steering wheel controls and my center console USB for Android auto. Unit works great and as usual Crutchfield customer support are fantastic.

Quality issues, heat/humidity sensitive

2006 Honda Element
These head units have really inconsistent quality. I installed mine in January to help modernize my 2006 Honda Element and was really happy with it for about 6 months. Then during the summer, the screen started to go black occasionally or the unit would spontaneously reboot. I think it's sensitive to either temperature or humidity levels. I contacted Boss and got a replacement under warranty. Issues with the replacement: the chassis slightly changed shape (!) so I had to play with alternative mounting brackets to get it to work. Once it was in place, this new one had issues with the touch screen: it either doesn't respond at all for seconds at a time, or else goes wild and acts as if 10 fingers are touching it at once which results in really unpredictable behavior. Summary: this radio is basically crap. I wish I experienced the issues within the 60 day return period and got to put my money elsewhere. As it stands I guess I just have to suffer with an inconsistently operating radio for the life of the car because I'm not going to put more money into this project.

Your Standard Radio is Better.

I hate this product. It is NOT seamless like advertised. It is clunky and a pain to use. The sound quality is bad too! Using the FM radio is the worst. I want to be able to set my 6 favorite stations, and be able to cycle through those 6 using my steering controls. Like literally any other radio from this century. This radio has "favorites" but I can't navigate these with steering controls. I have to take my eyes off the road to get to the favorites menu and select the station I want. Then you have "presets" which you can supposedly navigate using steering controls, but I can't change these! There is literally nothing in the user manual about how to assign a desired station to the slots. What you can do supposedly is select the magnifying glass icon which scans and auto assigns the 6 strongest stations to those slots. Not sure why anyone would want to do this, but I tried it, and it wiped the 6 pre-programmed stations. Splendid. Back to the steering wheel controls, they did a bad job cycling through the presets even before they got wiped. You can push the up button and cycle through 1/6, 2/6, etc, but once you get to 6/6, it does not take you back to 1/6 like you'd expect. It just continues to the next highest station! See what I mean by clunky? If you click mute, then click into anything else, it unmutes. With Bluetooth, you can't change the song in the main menu. You have to be in the Streaming app. Just because something is touch screen, doesn't mean it's well designed.

Radio works great, and the wire install was a breeze
Pros: Wiring was easy with the included harness. Having the ability to have Apple car play in a 21 year old truck is HUGE. Radio works flawlessly and sounds great.
Cons: Volume, mute and home buttons aren't as sensitive as I'd like them to be. Also I wish the directions were for the mounting brackets were a little bit more clear, the radio didn't seem to line up as the directions described and it was a trial and error as to how much needed to be trimmed. Even with trimming as much as I could it was still a tight fit.

Don't buy Boss. Do your research. Turns on they are the laughing stock of the audio world. Crutchfield used to be considered the top audio supplier in America so I just assumed (wrongly) that they only carried quality manufacturers. I bought the Boss because it was literally the only thing in stock and I thought 275 would net you a decent sound. I should have waited for something else. This is the least musical HU I have ever heard in my life. It doesn't even sound stereo, its almost mono quality. And maybes its the cheap speakers I also bought, but it's way to heavy on treble. I had to turn the treble EQ completely off plus fade back to mostly rear speakers just to tame it. I also think the high treble already blew the brand new tweeters I bought as well. The EQ is also seriously flawed. You can mimic the it to match the presets and it will not sound the same as the presets. I'm not sure what the EQ is doing honestly. I made a huge mistake spending money on this thing, the terrible stock receiver was at least as good. The Android Auto works well, but I was hoping for more than just a map for my car. I bought this for a company car that I don't even own so I didn't get high end like I normally do and now I'm really wishing I would have just left it stock.

Safer than having your phone in your window but has flaws.
Pros: Convenient and safer use for music/podcasts while using GPS when driving.
Cons: Android auto only works if phone is plugged otherwise Bluetooth can only make calls and play music, however while plugged in it doesn't charge or loses charge. Almost every ride it disconnects from Android auto which must be unplugged then plugged back in to work again.

I picked this up to replace a stock 2015 Toyota 4Runner head unit. This ticked all the boxes on what I needed and the price was right. I don't really have many complaints out of the box but it does seem a bit less touch responsive than other head units. I had to adjust a few settings to my liking but that's expected with any radio. One weird setting was the camera view setting. I couldn't figure out for the life of me why my camera was displaying "backwards" meaning left was right and right was left. But once I turned off that view it reversed it to what I was used to. I will update this review if I find any weird settings or anything crazy.

2016 Kia Soul.So far so great!!! This radio made my daughters stock speakers come to life! Easy installation. After we got done the sound was so amazing we thought there was a hidden subwoofer somewhere. Easy to operate and the apple CarPlay is fantastic. Now my daughter can operate her playlist safely. Best thing about it is she loves it. I would buy again.

Regret this purchase. Have to cable phone to unit. Basically just a phone magnifier screen with a cumbersome FM stereo. Crutchfield support was helpful but sure wish they had let me know all the limitations before I bought! They suggested this unit but never indicated that most of the programs won't work! Going to trash it and buy something better.
Pros: Fits vehicle and install wasn't hard
Cons: Phone has to be cabled. No video capability even though icons are on screen. FM controls are poor.

very simple and straightforward to install, and since this radio is actually shorter than the stock unit, i was able to install it without cutting the sub dash. the only cuts required were on the front plate, which were well hidden by the dash kit. 4 stars just cause i can't skip to a certain spot in the song. all features work as advertised, and the microphone is high quality. if anyone is debating whether or not to use the premade harness, do so. saved so much time and effort with my chevy. really brings this truck into the 21st century. i decided not to hook up the cameras yet, but with the rca input i could run a trailer backup cam or a front trail cam for when i'm offroad. fm works well with my bullet antenna, bluetooth isn't the worst but carplay is definitely preferred. there's different volumes for different media(main, voice, call), and the customizable delayed shutoff is a very nice touch for if i need to kill the engine in a drive thru. i got the whole add on kit for a little less than 300$, and i am throughly impressed and satisfied with the outcome. would recommend again and again. will update when i add an amp and subs

good for the price, a little disappointed in what would Bluetooth connect and what had to be USB wired, but better than no alternative. Does NOT connect to factory bluetooth microphone, have to wire in aftermarket mic for phone.

Cons: does not actually bluetooth all conectivity, driving apps etc, have to be wired, Android Auto must plug in using rear mounted USB, not ideal, but better than no option at all.

Hmm? Not really sure about this radio. Just plowed through connecting it up tonight. Instructions are basically worthless and Crutchfield doesn't seem to have a clue . . . Backup camera worked for a minute or two but now saying not connected. Seems like just another piece of crap .

Loved it and I it worked fine until about a month ago and now the Apple CarPlay kicks off after about two minutes and work any longer have tried several cords and my phone works in other vehicles just fine so I know it's not my phone and I currently am stuck using the Bluetooth radio and I would not recommend this product to anyone

I bought this for my 2014 RAM 1500, Bighorn. with all the extra parts and fitting they sell, it fits perfectly in place. My truck USB port didn't support the right amount of amp for the apple car play, so I drilled a hole down into the drawer below and fed the cable directly. Overall, it works great, and I can still use my steering wheel controls as well. Would highly recommend.

It's an average setup. CarPlay is really excellent, but the tuner, in my experience, is genuinely terrible. The Nissan factory tuner was pretty good, but this one barely gets the local stations that I know are pretty strong, both AM and FM. Not a dealbreaker, but it could be better.

For under $300 I got everything I was looking for. The main reason I got this was for Android Auto capabilities, which so far has worked flawlessly. Installation was overall pretty easy even for an amateur like me. Minor complaints are the volume decreasing when putting the car in reverse, some stupid safety feature I imagine. Also the "check your surroundings" notification does take up some space on the top of the rear view camera feed, this could have been done better in a less obtrusive way. I've got a weird issue where when I turn the car off, my volume automatically increases right before the head unit turns off. I've contacted tech support about this and they're not sure what's going on, so they're sending me a replacement unit to see if that will fix the issue. Great customer service through and through.

Great product. Easy to use controls allows me to use my iPhone for CarPlay and when my wife drives she can use her Android and still get Android Auto to work. This head unit has nav functionality via your phone and easy integration with all major music apps like Spotity. Unit has 2 USB (one for charging and one for CarPlay) and 2 camera inputs. I personally installed 2 cameras(Boss brand) on my older vehicle so I now have a reverse cam and one installed under a sideview mirror for blind spot monitoring. Overall this is a great stereo. Suggestion if you are going to buy it then utilize Crutchfield service where they cut and match a wiring harness for you so its easily able to plug and play instead of you having to splice wires. Get a kit where the existing steering wheel controls are able to be utilized as the volume buttons on the stereo face are quite small.

2007 Toyota 4Runner
Bought this for a 2007 4Runner (4th gen) to bring it up to the 21st century. The Apple CarPlay works great, and along with the built-in hands-free phone option with the microphone it comes with, it's a no-brainer. It was also not a bad install although it took most of the day so plan for that if you will do it yourself. You'll also need the harness that Crutchfield recommends to get it all in. Once you have it all hooked up, you'll think it won't possibly all fit in there, but it does easily. The functionality is great and the screen's responsiveness is perfect. The only weird thing is when you use the actual tuner (radio) functionality, it could be better when selecting stations, etc., but if you just use CarPlay with Spotify or something similar, it's a non-issue. Overall, this was a good purchase and we are super happy with it. We also installed a back-up camera at the same time and that works great too.

2014 Dodge Challenger
Exactly what I wanted from the unit and amazing customer support from Crutchfield. 2014 Challenger. The dash kit was very helpful and was happy to find out that I actually didn't need to modify my subdash at all. There are 2 USB ports in the back, one for charging and one for Apple Carplay and Android Auto so I was able to wire my dashcam to the charge port and get rid of the cigarette lighter adapter. I got the readyharness from Crutchfield which made it 10000x easier. Originally they sent one that didnt work but after 20 mins on the phone with tech support he figured out which one was correct and fixed the issue for me. All I really wanted was carplay and this unit does it perfectly. Still have my steering wheel controls which is suuuper nice. If you dont have a backup camera you can disable it in the settings and can also disable the EULA agreement when you turn it on. Other users have said you can change the LED colors but I havent been able to figure that one out myself

Installed this on my Honda Fit. Not thrilled with the product. Does not dim nearly enough for night driving and there is no setting to black the screen when not in use. This results in my eyes never being able to adapt to night driving which is dangerous. Additionally, the volume control is not very good. The touch "buttons" don't sense my touch about half the time so tapping the volume up and down is not really effective. I have to hold my finger on the volume control which rapidly accelerates volume change after about a second rather than linearly changing the volume. Not a fan of the volume control but the display brightness options for night driving is terrible. Everything else is fine. Would not buy again.

Mounted in a 03 Silverado Paid a little extra for them to pre-wire the interface for me and it was super easy! When you attach the mount, take note that there's a trim piece on the stereo that comes off before you attach the mount! You may find that there is an extra plug, depending on your setup, that may not be used. To use Apple Carplay you have to connect via usb. I found a flush mount usb extension online fairly cheap and mounted it in a blank plate on the dash. There is also another usb port for charging your phone. Overall, amazing product and definitely worth the money!

User Flexibility?

It would be good if some of the features had more flexibility. Like CarPlay, when navigating with Google Maps, the map shows on the stereo screen, but only turn by turn directions show up on the phone. Also, you can't wirelessly connect to CarPlay, so to use it you need to buy USB extension cable and plug in. Also after you turn your car off, when you turn it back on , the stereo automatically sets the starting volume, not the last volume before you turned your car off. Back up camera, you can't use the backup camera unless in reverse, (which switches automatically) so why have the ability to select the camera? Maybe that's if you have a drive recorder or something.
Pros: Generally easy to use and set up
Cons: Lack of user flexibility, screen is not that sensitive when selecting, which could be distracting if driver is messing with it.

Thought I was gonna be happy with this unit until I realized it won't save your display brightness settings once you change them. Every time you power off and on the settings return to default. I certainly don't want something that I have to change setting on every time I turn it on. This is no bueno.

We installed this in my son's 2011 Outback so he could connect to CarPlay and take hands free calls. Crutchfield sent everything needed for the installation. At first it looked overwhelming: all the wires and connectors. But eventually we got it to work nicely. This is a big upgrade into modern technology for his 2011 Subaru. Nice unit for the price point.

Recently put this radio in my 2008 Toyota Tacoma, and I am very very pleased. The graphics on it are very well done. The touch screen if you are wondering is not hard to press like some, but it is honestly like your phone. It is very customizable as well which I really like. You can do a precise EQ on it. I think it has 8 Eq band to adjust. You can adjust the Game of the screen which is like the contrast of it, the brightness at night as well, another feature is that you can adjust the parking lines on the rear camera, pretty awesome stuff! The ONLY downside is that even though when you hookup the camera to only get reverse voltage it does not automatically come on you have to tap the camera button.

2011 Nissan Rogue
Installed this myself in a 2011 Nissan Rogue with the ReadyHarness kit. Went smoothly and it looks and sounds great. I was not able to use the factory backup camera which is typical (as I later learned) so I installed a Rydeen CM-MINy3 which looks so much better anyway. I disabled the Parking Guide which removes the Check Surroundings banner - many complaints about that but I can live without the parking bars if it removes the banner. Sound is much better than expected and the screen is responsive enough given the price. Wish it had a volume knob but the steering wheel volume still works. Would buy again.

Easy install. Swapped a stock radio in a '13 Wrangler, ordered the wiring harness for steering control also which was also super easy to figure out. Their instructions are incredibly easy to follow and their customer service is top notch. The radio functionality is great. Easy to use and navigate with the interface. No qualms.

For the money, great device! The Screen is bright and clear, responsive and good sized. Apple CarPlay works great on it! The brightness adjustments are good but when CarPlay switches to dark mode due to windshield wipers/headlights turning on in the daylight, it gets a bit hard to read. I would rate it a 5 star if the interface for the device itself was a bit more modern. We purchased it specifically for CarPlay integration.

Purchased this for my 2007 Tacoma Double Cab with the integrated JBL system. The order came within three days and came with everything I needed! I really enjoy the touchscreen responsiveness and the CarPlay. Microphone works excellent as well. The CarPlay does require your phone to be plugged in which I don't mind, and it sure beats paying a ridiculous amount for wireless CarPlay. Sound quality is great and offers many EQ adjustments for personal preference. The only con of this really stems from the Metra dash kit. Everything but the stereo sleeve fit properly. The actual sleeve itself that the receiver slides into measures out to 6 3/4 inches and the stereo measures 7 inches. I just dremeled and shaved off a little of the sleeve and it worked for me. I'm sure it may vary based on the type of receiver but at least for this stereo it could be better. Overall I'm satisfied with my purchase!

This radio irritates me a lot. When it works right it's great but it seems to have some problems. First my blue tooth constantly disconnects and done times freezes up to where I can't play music. Then if I take a call and shut the connection off it reconnects in the middle of calls so I'm constantly messing with it. I would look else where before I bought this radio again.

Radio arrived quickly, pre-wired connections made it pretty simple to connect. Android Auto works great. My biggest complaints is the brightness isn't that bright when at max, and the HUGE yellow banner stating "CHECK SURROUNDINGS BEFORE PROCEEDING" while in reverse is obnoxious. There is no way to disable it to my knowledge and it blocks a good portion of the screen, effectively making the rear view camera useless...

USB allows you to upload your own wallpaper well as the seven it offers . The reviews don't do the justice , I was skeptical at first being a lower - end unit but could not be more happier . Only con is the color variation is blue and you cannot change the color

Does everything I wanted. Great CarPlay integration, it sounds as good if not better than my factory radio. The display is clear in all kinds of light. With the wiring harness I retained my steering wheel functions. It was easy to install and with the provided instructions and wiring service from Crutchfield there was no guess work. I did have to call for a quick question and that was answered with no problem and the tech found an issue before it became an issue and walked me thru the fix. Great radio and great company.

Installed the BV800ACP in a 2008 Toyota Tacoma Sport. I must say I'm Totally surprised about how good this power head looks and sounds. I was expecting to have to do a speaker upgrade based on how the old unit sounded, but nope... this brought new life to the vehicles speakers. Even FM radio was so much better. I used the PAC interface to connect to the OEM harnesses. Also purchased the mic suggested in the kit and a separate USB charge and radio connect port made to fit a dash space in this truck. A few tips and observations: The mic is a bit big, but the voice sound quality is better than any vehicle we own, including the new Rover. The PAC has some harnesses you won't use... no worries, just connect what fits. The wiring diagram for the PAC is not perfect but the colors to connect to the radio's harness were spot on- just match them up. Set the DIP switches to Pioneer/other (thanks David at Crutchfield tech support for the quick answer.). The dash trim kit that came in the kit was not ideal for this radio. We used a different one that we ordered elsewhere. It had problems also but trimmed out better around the radio. We had to do a fair amount of Dremel work and some improvising to make it fit and mount securely. The steering wheel controls worked using the single analogue prong connector. This is not an install for a beginner, but I'm no expert either. Take your time, expect some improvising and pulling the unit in/out for fine adj

I am very happy with this Boss head. It was originally installed in a 2004 Camry and upon selling that car installed it in a 2009 Forester. The unit works great and the UX is intuitive. The only reason I'm giving it four stars instead of five is because it's missing a 3.5mm aux port in the back. Instead it has RCA ports, meaning when you access the Aux interface you get a message saying the unit can't find a video signal. (My RCA ports are being fed audio by an external SirusXM head.)

The product arrived well packed. Instructions were easily understood and easy to follow. I purchased the dash kit, harness, and USB cable to fit my factory cable harness. Instructions on how to remove the old radio and console specific to my vehicle were provided making it even easier to DIY. Installation was really ea sy. Splicing the radio wires to the wife kit was a breeze. Instructions were provided for that as well. Everything thing that you need to install the radio and to maintain factory wiring made easy through Crutchfield. You will not be disappoin ed. The unit works well and my steering wheel control still works. Did not get the camera with this unit since i my vehicle already has one.Going to splice the video cable to my existing camera harness so I can have the backup screen on the unit a d read view mirror. Highly recommend.

Cleans up pretty nice. Installation wasn't too hard. In my 07 F150, it was pretty simple after splicing a few wires . Although I was disappointed when I saw the frame not fit the radio screen as I thought it would. As well as the key colors not changing like they do in the review video that's attached. If you want a radio with multiple colors , do NOT buy this . It's solid blue. Other than that, the screens reaction time is pretty quick. Gives my speakers more of a crisp tone.

This is a great unit. If anyone is looking for an upgrade and don't want to break the bank this is it. The best part is the overall size and the responsiveness. Sine the unit is shallower I didn't have to cut anything out the touch screen is incredibly responsive. Sound quality is far better than what I was expecting even with the Bose system that came with the truck. Also when I bought it I also purchased the RP5-GM11 along with there Harness Ready service making install easy. I also installed an aftermarket back up cam and everything work flawlessly.

I was very excited to get this unit to replace the factory radio in my 2001 Pontiac Aztek. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to expectations. The USB/Flash drive cable is woefully too short, I'll need to buy an adapter to make is useable. I also found the sound produced to be weak, the OEM radio producing far better sound. The unit also freezes up between stations or changing settings. Then, when it's not freezing, the radio scans continuously. I finally powered down the unit, but it apparently didn't like being shut down and started playing random stations - with the display off! I couldn't adjust the volume, change the settings etc. And all this with the unit being powered up for the first 10 minutes of its life.
Pros: Looks great installed, Android Auto worked super

Great radio with apple car play. install was easy and looks nice. Sounds great using factory amp and subwoofers 2007 mustang with mach 500. Only complaint I have is with the tuner. it does not show the preset channels. unless you hit another button. Crutchfield was great to work with. I had ordered a radio that could not turn on my subs. I talked to tech support and sales and got the radio I needed. Exchange was quick and easy.

Does everything it says it does and more. Integrated seamlessly with OEM functions, which is saying a lot with a GM vehicle as a lot runs through the radio. I was even able to match the color of the lighting to the dash lighting for an OEM appearance. Integration with an aftermarket backup camera is perfect, and unlike other manufacturers who put a nanny on their backup cameras, you can view the rear camera while moving forward to monitor a trailer or pull through a parking spot.

The Boss head unit was a perfect fit (2013 CrossTrek) and the installation instructions were easy to follow and correct. The only step that was missing was how to disconnect the temperature and air flow cables to remove the center panel, but that was easy to find on YouTube. Shopping for all the required components for installation could not have been easier. Crutchfield's online system automatically lists the recommended components for your vehicle. The sound is great, the Apple Car Play is perfect. I could not be happier. I will update this post with pictures when I get them taken

Great product for the price! As others state, it's slow to start up but not really a problem for me. I really liked that it has two USB inputs in the rear which few seem to have. As always, Crutchfield customer service is phenomenal. The first unit I received had a bum apple CarPlay usb. Was shipped a replacement overnight (only live an hour from them). Unfortunately, the second unit had a bum USB input as well. Bad luck. Again, no questions asked, shipped a third which works flawlessly. Incredibly happy with the unit because it got me CarPlay which is what I wanted. I really didn't have too many other requirements because I can't hear much in my Jeep when moving anyway. Install was a breeze.

Affordable Upgrade with Apple Car Play

2004 Honda Pilot
I purchased the Boss BV800ACP for a 2004 Honda Pilot LX with navigation to get Apple Car Play. Crutchfield recommended the Scosche HA 1703B install kit, the Metra 70-1721 wire harness and the Axxess ASWC-1 steering wheel control adaptor. I pulled the stock head unit and the nav display and installed the Boss into the upper slot where the nav display was installed. The Scosche kit didn't work because the face frame was too small and there were gaps between the head unit and the dash molding. Also, the Scosche tray was not wide enough to fill the head unit space. I went online and bought the Metra 95-7861 install kit (which fit perfectly), a Batige dual port USB adaptor (which fit in the original AUX power hole with some widening) and two Honda trays (which required some trimming but fit in the original head unit space). The Pilot has an amplified antenna which was not covered in the wiring instructions but Crutchfield support had that fixed in under 2 minutes. I also had some issues with the ASWC-1 not recognizing the Boss unit but Boss support helped fix that by resetting the ASWC-1. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the performance, fit and cost of the receiver and Car Play works great. The physical install was easy thanks to great instructions and support by Crutchfield and Boss. Minor issues with the Boss unit controls and the ill-fitting Scoshe face plate resulted in the one star deduction. I would have deducted only a half-star if that option
Pros: Apple Car Play, 2 USB ports, retained factory steering wheel controls, better sound than OE, good value for the features, Crutchfield and Boss customer support solved all technical issues quickly
Cons: Volume resets to low on startup, no option to chnage display layout, display could be brighter, FM reception slightly weaker than the Honda head unit, Scosche adaptor kit didn't fit, lost the OE subwoofer but I think that is a universal issue with replacement head units

DO NOT BUY THIS HEAD UNIT. I put this in a 2011 Jeep Wrangler. I'm on my second unit and now the rear speakers aren't working. Go to turn on the fader to help debug the issue - no fader controls, no balance controls. Talked to support tonight - they can't find it either. Between all the issues I've had with this thing I've had the dash apart no less than 30 times. So now I own a head unit with no fader, no balance and the rear Kicker speakers won't work in the sound bar, so who's to say it ain't flipping software... Let's see what tech support comes up with this time...

This is an inexpensive and well-featured unit. The sound quality is good, but obviously is dependent upon your speakers. Bluetooth pairing is quick and easy as one might expect, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto both work flawlessly. The microphone is a bit large, however.. but the cord is suitably long so you can find an out-of-the-way place to put it. All in all, I strongly recommend this unit for people who want good sound but aren't over the top.

Awesome unit, especially for the price. All the features you could want and works flawlessly. Bluetooth connection or Apple CarPlay. Interface seems a little clumsy at first but didn't take long to figure it out. Good power for my Jeep with the top off, paired with Polk DB series speakers in the dash and sound bar. Also added the Kicker Hideaway powered sub and the sound is awesome now. No problems hearing it on the highway now! Crutchfield is awesome with the recommended install gear and instructions. Didn't have to run out to get anything during the install! First time anything has gone that smooth for me. I will never go anywhere else.

I have a galaxy s10 and can not get "android auto to work on this. I've downloaded all kinds of apps that it say. However when i plug my phone in its "un-supported device". However if I had an iphone it would just work as soon as I plugged it in. But the other thing is that it was disconnecting my phone all this time. I turned of the Auto Connect and it seems to help.

Very solid headunit, I was expecting some drawbacks at first but Boss really did come through and exceed my expectations. Shipping was quick, and they even threw another coupon in with the order! Radio is excellent. Wiring diagrams were a little confusing. Cleared up after speaking with rep. PAC unit did not hold wire clips in and had to zip tie them up as previous reviews suggested. Also Boss radio not listed for Pac setting. Again, rep recommended Sony setting and all functions worked perfectly. Steering wheel controls worked too!

The backup camera displays a huge "CHECK SURROUNDINGS BEFORE BACKING UP" banner that is not possible to turn off or make smaller or anything. This alone is very annoying, since it takes up a portion of the screen that would allow you to see further down the road. The radio doesn't give you an option of saving favorites on the radio home, so if you want to change stations you have to go to the list, scroll up or down and then press on the station you want. They added more steps on something that has been standard on car radios since I don-t even know how long. The FM radio also hisses constantly. The unit takes forever to start, and when it does is sometimes turns off for a couple of seconds (this is a very big issue since most times it happens when I'm using the backup camera).

Honestly a refreshing change for my 2005 Toyota Tacoma. Very seamless transition from phone-to-head unit connection either via Apple Play or Bluetooth. The only caveat to my experience is how the head unit processes phone calls/Siri/speech to text volume; whenever I make/receive phone calls, or have Siri read out my messages, the volume drops way below what I set it to while listening to music prior to these actions.

I've had this installed for a couple weeks now and it is working great. There is only one annoyance I have, but it isn't a show stopper. I would like to setup what starts up when the unit boots up, but as far as I can tell, I can't change it from starting up with the radio on. Also, I noticed that some people had mentioned that the home screen can't be configured. That would be nice, but I am finding that I just ignore the things I never use. Other than that, I am enjoying the Android Auto and other little features that I use often. I don't have a rear or forward cameras, so I don't use those features. I'm sure they work great, like everything else.
Pros: Has the features I need. Easy to install.
Cons: Cannot change the feature that starts after boot up.

This is an easy to install radio. Things to like: intuitive menu selection, attractive, excellent options. Things that frustrate: hard to change volume (it is not a button, and there is no remote), it defaults to a low volume (it is not intuitive how to default to a higher volume. I prefer a high volume and to control with my phone ... since there is no remote. I am glad i purchased this radio, the drawbacks are minor. Thanks to Crutchfield, my install looks professional and, as always, it worked perfect the first time.

Absolutely love this head unit very easy to install and made such a big difference in my car, brought my car a little touch of modern to it and makes the car feel not as old any more.for 250$ this has to be the best unit on the market right now plus it comes with Apple car play didn't realize how much I would like it in a car till I got this. The touch screen on this is very nice and very responsive, it is also very bright during the day and dims down nicely during the night as to not distract the driver over very happy with this head unit and my over all experience shopping with Crutchfield very nice they they give you everything that you need to put this together from plugs and wires to mounting brackets

2005 Nissan Frontier
Fits great in a 2005 Nissan Frontier. It is a perfect replacement for the manufacture receiver. Highly recommend USB chargers too if you don't have them already installed. I didn't purchase a back up camera but this receiver allows to easily add a backup camera. Has nice hands free feature where you mount your microphone and can make phone calls and text messages with one touch. I haven't tested any of the other hands free features yet.
Pros: Perfect fit for replacing Nissan Manufacture receiver in 2005 Frontiers. Works great with Apple and Android phones.
Cons: Getting used to a touch screen versus hard buttons.

2014 Toyota Venza with after market backup camera. 1. Aftermarket backup camera took some doing (not plug and play) 2. Radio/USB/Apple CARPLAY All works well (factory USB works as well). 3. Sound Quality is OK, not the best, but not bad as well. (I have upgraded Kenwood speakers, all six of them, in my 2014 V6 Venza) 4. Siri answers to. "Hey Siri" external Mic works well ! 5. Dimmer works well between night and day mode set to automatic. 6. Touch screen is reasonably responsive. See pictures, as to what this unit really looks like in your car.

Got this replace my factory unit in my 2013 Volkswagen Passat. Install was fairly easy. I think it looks great and works very well. It is a good value for the features you get. My only complaint is that the unit displays a big "CHECK SURROUNDINGS BEFORE PROCEEDING" at the top of the screen with my backup camera. This stays on and can not be deactivated. (I called the company to check) This takes up a lot of the screen and limits the usefulness of my camera. I think it should at lest go away after a few seconds

2013 Ford F-150 XLT
This has been a great upgrade to my 2013 F150 XLT. The package that came with it from Crutchfield made this a very easy install for DIY. The only real complaint I can say is the USB plugs for the Apple/Android connection, and the second one are too short. It required me getting a double extension to allow them to reach the front of the dash. For my truck at least it would also not utilize the built in vehicle microphone for calls. I placed the included microphone right in front of my instrument cluster to the right of the steering wheel. This has worked very well so far.
Pros: Excellent interface and good connectivity. Apple play works wonderfully and included microphone is crisp and clear.
Cons: Needs an extension for USB to reach front of dash, will not utilize built in vehicle microphone even with an adapter on 2013 F150.

The unit was a perfect fit and lived up to my expectations. While I found the same unit at other retailers, I am glad to have purchased it through Crutchfield. The tech sheets and instructions were perfect and extremely valuable when installing the unit. In addition, the free technical support came in handy when my wiring harness differed slightly from those in the instructions. I highly recommend purchasing any unit through Crutchfield.

Cons: Unfortunately, there are no wiring harnesses for my vehicle to keep the factory installed back up camera with this radio. However, this seems to be the case with any apple car play enabled radio for my vehicle.
