Height-Module Speaker: The Signature Elite ES90 height-module speaker is designed to fit perfectly atop Polk's ES55 and ES60 floorstanding speakers, as well as the Polk ES20 bookshelf loudspeaker to enhance movies, music, and games in Dolby Atmos or DTS:X with immersive 3D sound. A molded rubber base securely isolates each height module atop its compatible companion Signature Elite Series speaker, preventing unwanted artifacts like rattles and buzzes. The Signature Elite ES90 is designed to take full advantage of Dolby Atmos and DTS:X height audio channels by reflecting the sound off your ceiling to add a true third dimension to the soundfield of your home theater.

• Dolby Atmos: Dolby Atmos creates powerful, immersive audio with sound that comes from all directions (including overhead) to fill your home cinema with astonishing clarity, richness, detail, and depth. Dolby Atmos brings to life a movie's soundtrack with sound that flows all around you in three-dimensional space to completely immerse you in the action, heightening your cinematic experience.
• DTS:X: DTS:X places sound in a movie soundtrack where it would occur naturally in space, creating a truly lifelike, multi-dimensional audio experience. DTS:X replicates a real-world sound environment that transports you (the audience) into a new dimension of sound immersion by delivering a truly captivating home cinema experience.

Dynamic Balance Drivers: Dynamic Balance is a proprietary Polk Audio technology using laser imaging to determine what combination of speaker materials create the least amount of resonance. Eliminating resonance in speakers results in a wide, smooth response and low distortion. Using just the right materials enables Polk to eliminate issues that reduce speaker performance and tune out performance-robbing resonances before they occur. Dynamic Balance ensures a rich, clean, full-range sound no matter what you're listening to. The Polk Signature Elite ES90 height-module speaker incorporates a Dynamic Balance two-way driver array with one 1" tweeter and one 5.25" woofer.

• Hi-Res 1" Terylene Tweeter: The Signature Elite ES90 height-module loudspeaker utilizes Polk's newly designed 1" Terylene tweeter to deliver clear and detailed high-end response for realistic reproduction of vocals and instruments. It will support high frequencies up to 40kHz to perfectly reproduce the latest high-resolution audio files with improved audio extension, earning Hi-Res Audio Certification.
• 5.25" Mica-Reinforced Polypropylene Woofer: The Signature Elite ES90 height-module speaker employs one 5.25" Dynamic Balance low distortion mica-reinforced polypropylene cone woofer for clean, clear bass, better linearity, and increased dynamic midrange and midbass. This mica-reinforced polypropylene woofer features a butyl rubber surround, massive ceramic motor structure, and a high-temperature Conex fiber spider that combine to create a driver of exceptionally high efficiency, for clean, clear bass, better linearity, lower distortion, and greater durability.

Non-Resonant Enclosure: The height-module speaker's strong, rigid and acoustically inert enclosure reduces unwanted internal standing waves for less audible coloration. And non-resonant Meddite MDF construction, extra bracing, and a thick front baffle ensure a more lifelike sound. The enclosure's curved edges not only look cool, they reduce standing waves inside the cabinet for less audible coloration. The enclosure comes in a beautiful black, white, or walnut wood-grain vinyl finish.

Anti-Diffraction Grille: The Signature Elite ES90 features an anti-diffraction fabric grille for unaltered sound.

5-Way Binding Posts: The ES90 height-module speaker features 5-way binding posts for a secure connection to your speaker wire. The 5-way binding posts will accept bare wire (up to 10AWG), pin-connectors, spade-connectors, and banana plugs (single or dual). The speaker terminals are color coded for easy identification between positive (red) and negative (black). The speaker is 8-ohm rated.

Mounting Options: The ES90 should be placed on top of a Signature Elite ES55 or ES60 floorstanding speakers, or ES20 bookshelf loudspeaker. Set the ES90 on the compatible speaker so that their front faces are flush. The bottom of the height-module speaker has rubber pads to fit securely on the speaker. You should also consider the room acoustics and ceiling when adding the ES90 height-module speakers. The ES90 works by bouncing sound off the ceiling and back toward the listening area. Your room should have a flat ceiling (not vaulted or angled) with a height of 7.5' to 12', constructed of acoustically reflective material (examples include drywall, plaster, hardwood and other rigid material that doesn't absorb sound).
