Great sound for the price

Sounds really good for the price point when it works. I use Youtube TV and when I change channels I lose the sound and have to reboot every time. Not sure it's user error, but I've tried everything I know.

JBL Bar 2.1 Deep Bass MK2

It's a solid option for the price point. When I first fired it up, the highs were very harsh, but they seem to have softened a bit with use. There are no EQ adjustments so, other than the 3 pre-set subwoofer levels, you get what you get. Speaking of the sub, it's a good compliment to the bar. I have it on the middle of the 3 level pre-sets, positioned behind the couch and it sounds tight enough watching action movies / series. Something that size is obviously never going to give you that chest thumping bass, though. Also worth noting is that the soundbar does not pass anything above 1080p. I worked around this by running my source (an Apple TV 4K) directly into my TV, and then used the ARC to run audio back out to the soundbar. It seems to work just fine in this configuration. I'm also able to control the power / volume through the Apple TV remote. It's not a replacement for a proper multi-channel surround sound system but, if you need a simple solution for good sound at a reasonable price, this gets it done.

The sound is clear and sounds great...when the Bar works. The Bar does not work all of the time. For example, when we turn off the Bar at night, the Bar does not work in the morning. We called Tech Support and Josh had us to unplug the Bar to make it work. Then, it happened again after talking to Josh. We do not want to have to go through this process every morning. So, overall, the Bar receives a 2-star rating.

Had a JBL Bar 2.0 before and wanted to get something with a little more bass and this fit the bill. It sounds almost exactly like my old bar only now with a little more bass in music. When watching movies you can feel the explosions in the floor since the sub fires downward. For less than $300 it's a pretty okay deal. If you are a bass head and looking for something to shake the ground during music, I would look somewhere else, like the JBL Bar 500 or maybe a different brand. Another downside is this is the only bar from what I can tell that is left out of the JBL connect app, so the only form of adjustability you get is 3 levels of bass on the remote that comes with it, which range from almost nothing, to a tiny bit of bass, to "hey I can feel the floor vibrate". You also can only connect through Bluetooth or stream onto your tv if trying to play something on your phone, this bar misses out on Apple Airplay (which I knew going into the purchase so not disappointed). All in all, this fit the bill of what I was looking for: a little more bass and better movie-watching experience without paying a whole lot. If you are looking for mind blowing bass this definitely isn't it, think of it like a basic soundbar with punchy bass on the side.
