Features

Mono-Power Amp Design: The JBL Club A600 is designed with specific features to power subwoofers, providing 350W RMS @ 4Ω and 600W RMS @ 2Ω. This amplifier is not designed to power a full-range speaker.

  • Note: The JBL Club A600 does not include any wiring; an 8 ga. amp wiring kit is recommended (sold separately).

Class D Design: The Club A600 is equipped with a high-performance Class D switching power supply, which is more efficient than traditional class AB power supplies. This allows the amp to run cooler and provide high output with less current draw from your vehicle's charging system.

Low Noise & Distortion: The A600 amplifier features balanced differential inputs to ensure low noise and distortion, even at high output levels. This also makes it less susceptible to line induced, radiated engine noise.

Protection Circuitry: The amp features 3-way protection, and will shut itself down in the following cases:

  • Temperature: Amplifier is overheated
  • Over/Under Voltage: Voltage at the +12V (Battery) terminal is less than 8.5V or more than 16V
  • Short Circuit: Short circuit in speaker or speaker wire

Power/Protection LED: The amplifier features a Power/Protection LED on the input side of the unit. The Power/Protect LED lights solid when the amplifier is operating normally, and will flash when the amplifier goes into protect mode.

Compact Size: The Club A600 is housed in a compact chassis with a small footprint, allowing it to fit in more vehicles where mounting space is limited.

Controls

Hidden Control Panel: The top panel of the Club A600 can unsnap and slide off to access all of the amp's controls. A plastic trim-ring must be unsnapped from around the perimeter of the amp before the top panel can be removed.

Gain: Rotary control to match the level of the preamp input signal. When using RCA preamp inputs, the Gain sensitivity has a range from 200mVrms to 2.0Vrms. When using high-level speaker inputs, the sensitivity range is from 2Vrms to 20Vrms.

Low Pass Filter: The Club A600 has a variable 12dB per octave, 32-320Hz low pass filter to prevent unwanted high-frequencies from reaching your subwoofers so they can play deeper and louder.

Bass Boost: The Bass Boost control allows you to enhance the bass output of your system at 45Hz with an adjustment range of 0-12dB.

Phase Switch: Allows you to select normal or reverse for best bass.

Turn-On Mode: Lets you select whether you are using high- or low-level input signals.

  • DC: Allows the amp to power on/off with speaker-level signals.
  • REM: Allows the amp to power on/off when the REM terminal gets +12V from the headunit's remote output. This should be selected when using the RCA low-level inputs.

RBC Remote Level Control: The amp has an RJ-25 jack for use with the included RBC (Remote Bass Control) remote sub-level control module. The control module includes a 16.5' cable to connect the remote to the amplifier. This sub-level controller allows the subwoofer level to be adjusted from the listening position and includes hardware to mount it under the dash.

Connections

Preamp & Speaker Input: A single pair of RCA jacks is used for both low-level and high-level signals. If using high-level, 2 speaker wire-to-RCA adapters are provided. These feature an RCA plug on one end and 2 wire ports with set-screws on the other end. These can accept up to 18 ga. speaker wire.

Speaker Output: Features 4 set screw terminals for connecting speaker wires; accommodating up to 10 ga. (16 ga. minimum recommended).

Note: There are two sets of terminals to make it easier to connect multiple subwoofers. The terminals are connected internally in parallel.

Remote Level Control: RJ-25 socket for use with the provided RBC remote sub-level control.

Power:

  • +12V: Set screw terminal for power wire from battery; handles up to 4 gauge wire (8 gauge minimum recommended)
  • Remote: Set screw terminal for remote turn-on lead; handles up to 10 gauge wire (18 gauge minimum recommended)
  • Ground: Set screw terminal for ground; handles up to 4 gauge wire (8 gauge minimum recommended)

Fuses: 2 Slots for 30A ATC fuses (installed). Two spare 30A fuses are also provided.

Q
Hello How much rca input voltage this amp (club A600) can hold?
stargovic  Jan 24, 2023

A
That is a great question, Issac. This JBL Club A600 has input sensitivity listed at 200mV-2V, so 2-Volts max here. The JL Audio XDM600/1 in the link below can step you up to 4V max if you need it and delivers 600-watts at 2-ohms. I hope this helps! https://www.crutchfield.com/p_13698683/JL-Audio-XDM600-1.html

Q
Is this amp compatible with JBL Stage 1200B subwoofer? Thanks for the attention!

A
It's a little overpowered from what I'm seeing about that sub. The sub handles 250w RMS and this puts out 350w @4 ohms. But, it's better to have too much than not enough. Just be careful what you send to it.
michael  Apr 22, 2022
A
So I personally have this amplifier and it's a good one. However on the issue of compatibility it would be about 100 watts over the rms of that sub at a 4 ohm set up. If you want something that's a little more matched of a setup and would still be pretty good take a look at the Kicker 44TCWC102 subwoofer and the JBL Stage A3001 Amplifier. They would be perfectly matched for their Impedance and RMS capability. Plus they would be in a similar price range as your previous selections.
dakota  Apr 20, 2022
A
Yes this amp can power your sub.

Q
i have 2 jbl subs that have 250 watts rms at 4 ohms each, would it be better to run these in the separate terminals (4 ohms) or in series from one terminal (2ohms) on this amp?
owen  Mar 08, 2022

A
I'm not an expert but when wired to two ohms this sub can push 600 watts rms. I have two kenwood excelon shallow 12's rated at 350 rms at 4, wired to 2 ohms for whatever it's worth. I think you'll be fine to wire to 2 ohms just be mindful not to overwhelm your subs.
christopher  Mar 08, 2022
A
One terminal at 2 ohms

Yes Sir .i set it with jbl stadium 1224 .
pawanvir  Sep 17, 2021
Q
Do you have to bridge the jbl club a600 to get 600 rms or do you treat it like a mono amp and just use one channel positive and negative and wire it in parallel?
antonio  Jul 31, 2021

A
There are two sets of terminals to make it easier to connect multiple subwoofers. The terminals are connected internally in parallel.
jason  Aug 02, 2021
A
You can get the full 600(+) either way. You can use just 1 "channel" (set of + / -), for either a 2ohm or 4ohm load, or both each with a 4ohm load. The amp will deliver the same power with the same load regardless of using all the speaker output connections, or not.
thom  Aug 02, 2021
A
I believe it was one channel with a toggle switch. Runs cool at 4 ohms. An installer who knows this amp well said it runs hot on 2 ohms. Havnt tried 2 ohms yet myself.
anthony d  Aug 02, 2021
A
No, you don't have to bridge it. It all depends on your woofer. If your woofer is 4 ohms it will only pump 350 watts. If it's 2 ohms it will pump 600 watts connected to one set of +/- on the amp, either one. Now if you have a dual 4 ohm voice coil woofer you could either parallel the woofer wires and hook up to one set of +/- on the amp or you could 2 sets of +/- on the amp, one set per voice coil.
jaynard  Aug 01, 2021
A
No, it is a mono amp you get 600 out of one channel your speaker ohms (2 or 4)will only change the wattage load. It is a very nice amp, nice for the price.
tim & megan  Aug 01, 2021
A
According to the instruction manual, you use just one channel (no need to bridge). You will either get 350 watts RMS or 600 RMS depending on your sub's ohm rating (4ohms/2ohms respectively). So if you need 600 watts, you need a sub setup that has 2 ohms of impedance wired to one set of terminals (the manual depicts using the left side terminal).

Q
Is this amp capable of powering a JL audio12W7AE nicely?
ioannis  Jul 17, 2021
1 answer
A
Yes! I have a new Infinty Kappa 1200W at 2 ohms and it's actually too much. I have the recommended 1.0 cubic foot box and it needs at least an 1.5 cubic foot box. Bottoms out.
david  Jul 17, 2021
Q
I know that the recommendation is 8 gauge power wire. Does this mean that the terminal will only fit 8 gauge, or will 4 gauge work as well?
buzzdrew7  Jul 10, 2021

A
4 gauge won't fit but you can buy 4 to 8 gauge reducers and you'll be all set.
christopher  Jul 10, 2021
A
I used 4 guage when i had this amp fit just fine
adrian  Jul 10, 2021
