Features

DRV-A310W Dash Cam with 2" Color Display: The Kenwood DRV-A310W dash camera can capture clear videos and photos while you drive and while you are stopped. It utilizes a 1/2.9" Galaxy Core (GC2093) image sensor with 2 million pixels for recording up to 1920 x 1080 (full HD) video and features an F1.8 lens with a 136° diagonal field of view (FOV). The DRV-A310W Dash Cam also features a built-in 2" full-color TFT LCD monitor that displays the built-in camera's view. It can also display front and rear views simultaneously when using the optional KCA-R110 rear view camera (sold separately). Recorded video can also be played back and viewed on the dash cam screen.

Optional KCA-R110 Rear Camera: The DRV-A310W can be used along with the optional KCA-R110 Rear Camera (sold separately). The optional rear camera can provide a clear, wide-angle video image thanks to its 1/2.9" Galaxy Core (GC2093) image sensor and F1.8 lens with a 136° diagonal field of view (FOV). The optional rear camera can provide a 1920 x 1080 (full HD) resolution image to the dash cam, and connects to the dash cam via 26' of cabling supplied with the rear camera. Power for the rear camera is supplied by the dash cam. The KCA-R110 can be placed on the inside or outside of your vehicle. The KCA-R110 cannot be used as a backup camera and does not include a reverse trigger input.

HDR Technology: The Kenwood DRV-A310W utilizes HDR (High Dynamic Range) technology that easily records clear images in dark or well lit settings without underexposing or overexposing the image.

Selectable Camera Display: The DRV-A310W lets you select from three display options when combined with the optional KCA-R110 Rear Camera: Dual Cameras, Front Camera, and Rear Camera. In Dual mode, both camera views are simultaneously recorded, while Front and Rear modes will record just those camera views.

Built-in GPS: Using its built-in GPS receiver, the DRV-A310W can also display and record the time and GPS position (longitude and latitude) directly onto the recorded video and still image files. You can also have the travel speed stamped on a video file.

3 Video Recording Modes: The DRV-A310W offers 3 types of video recording modes - Manual, G-Sensor, and Parking/Motion Detection.

  • Manual: Press the "Record" button and the unit will continuously record video in 1, 3, or 5 minute clips onto the inserted microSD card. The camera will automatically delete the oldest video files to make room for the most recent video clips (first recorded, first deleted), enabling the camera to continue recording even when the memory card is full.
  • G-Sensor: If the built-in G-sensor of the DRV-A310W detects an impact incident (such as a collision while in motion or a bump while parked), that recorded video file is locked and stored in the "Protected" folder to prevent being overwritten and to provide later access to the video. The G-Sensors sensitivity can be set to Low, Medium, or High.
  • Parking Mode & Motion Detection: When the vehicle is parked and turned off, parking mode becomes active once the unit does not detect any vibration for more than 5 minutes. If the vehicle is then subject to a collision or other physical impact, the camera powers on and automatically records 30 seconds of video. While in standby mode, the DRV-A310W can detect objects moving in front of the camera and will automatically record a 30 second video and will stop when no movement is detected.

Note: The Parking Mode and Motion Detection features require the optional Kenwood CA-DR1130 Hardwire Kit (sold separately), allowing the camera system to remain powered when the vehicle is off.

Video/Photo/Audio Recording: The Kenwood DRV-A310W is able to record video and capture still images.

  • Videos: The DRV-A310W records in 1920 x 1080 (full HD) @ 30fps resolution, and records in H.264/MP4 format. Recorded video clip length can be set to 1, 3, or 5 minutes.
  • Photos: In addition to recording HD video, the dash cam has the capability to capture 1920 x 1080 JPEG still images so that in the event of an accident, you can take photographs from inside the vehicle.

microSD Card Slot: The dashboard camera is outfitted with a microSD card slot for use with a microSD, microSDHC, or microSDXC memory card (sold separately, see Accessories) 8GB-256GB; Class 10 or higher. Video, audio, and photos will be recorded onto your inserted microSD/SDHC/SDXC memory card in exFAT/FAT32. The storage on the microSD memory card will be split into three areas according to the type of recording - Protected, Video, and Photo. The unit will automatically delete the oldest non-protected files to create space for new videos and photos.

microSD Card Size Recording Time
32GB 290 minutes
64GB 580 minutes
128GB 1160 minutes
256GB 2360 minutes

Note: The Kenwood DRV-A310W requires a microSD card for recording, which is not included and must be purchased separately.

Kenwood Dash Cam Manager App: The DRV-A310W supports the Kenwood Dash Cam Manager app (for Apple iOS 15+ and Android 10+) over a wireless 2.4GHz WiFi connection (802.11n/WPA2). With the Kenwood Dash Cam Manager app, you can easily manage the DRV-A310W's menu settings and recorded videos from your compatible smartphone via a wireless WiFi connection.

  • Review & Playback: You'll be able to review the video on your smartphone device with routing on Google Maps and driving information such as speed, G-sensor and trip distance. *The Kenwood Dash Cam Manager app does not support a live video feed.
  • Copy, Edit & Share: You'll also be able to copy videos onto your smartphone for editing and sharing to social media apps.
  • Settings & Firmware: In addition, you can adjust the dash cam's menu setting and update the firmware from your smartphone.

Kenwood Video Player Software: The Kenwood Video Player is a computer software application that lets you display video recorded with the DRV-A310W onto your Windows PC or Mac computer. It allows you to review and edit the DRV-A310W's recorded videos with your computer. Simply plug the dash cam into your computer using the included miniUSB-to-USB cable for display ("Read-Only") purposes. If you want to copy, delete, or edit files on your computer then remove the microSD card from the dashboard camera and use an external card-reader to connect to your computer. Your computer will need to meet the following system requirements -

  • Windows OS: Microsoft Windows 10 & 11 (Microsoft Visual C++, and Direct X XAudio2 must be installed on a Windows 10 PC).
  • Mac OS: Apple Mac OS X 12 (Monterey) or later

Note: The Kenwood Video Player software does not support live video feed playback; only previously recorded video will be played back.

Mounting Options: The dash camera can be installed in the inside of your windshield using the included self-adhesive mount. The bracket allows you to adjust the angle of the camera once its mounted. The adhesive mount slides into a slot on the camera, allowing you to quickly place and remove the dash cam from your vehicle.

Note: Do not install this product in your vehicle if its location or use would obstruct the driver's clear view of the road or the operation of any vehicle airbag. It is also the driver's responsibility to know and comply with the laws, rules, and regulations of the driving location, including, for example, passenger privacy rights, and not to use the device in any location where its installation or use is prohibited.

Power Requirements: The dash camera is powered through the included USB car charger and 13' USB cable. Once the DRV-A310W is connected to power, the cameras will automatically turn on and off when your vehicle is started and turned off. If power is lost, a built-in Super Capacitor prevents a recorded video file from being corrupted, as it provides enough power to allow the video file to close properly. The DRV-A610WDP supports 12V and 24V application. The optional Kenwood CA-DR1130 Hardwire Kit (sold separately) allows the camera to remain powered, even after the vehicle is off. This lets you take advantage of the Parking Mode and Motion Detection features.

Camera Dimensions: 2.32" (w) x 1.70" (h) x 1.50" (d)

Q
Where can you adjust video recording time in Video menu?
mark  Apr 15, 2025
1 answer
A
If you have any questions with your Crutchfield purchased Kenwood DRV-A310W camera Mark, do not hesitate to call our Technical Support hotline with your order number handy and we are happy to help. You should be able to adjust the clip length in the general settings menu. Adjusting the clip length setting affects how long each recorded clip lasts before being overwritten. I hope this helps!

Q
What are the replay options available for this model?
robert  Mar 01, 2025
1 answer
A
Greetings Robert. Thank you for your question. Viewing options would be on the unit itself, remove the SD card and insert that into a PC to view recordings, or wireless transfer to your mobile device using the Kenwood Dashcam Manager app.

Q
Can it connect to a usb port rather than a cigarette lighter type of port?
tom  Feb 23, 2025
1 answer
A
Hey Tom, below is directly from Kenwood on that USB for power: The KENWOOD dash cam requires a 2A current for normal operation, and the KENWOOD USB car charger provides a 2.6A output current. Please do not use other USB ports in the car to connect the KENWOOD dash cam, as most car USB ports deliver less than 1A output, while the KENWOOD dash cam requires a 2A current for normal operation.

Greetings Neal. Thank you for your question. We don't have the extra mounts for dash cameras. It is a possibility you can order them direct from Kenwood. Their parts number is 800-776-2626.
