Excellence from Excelon

Kenwood's Excelon Series mobile audio components feature their highest level of technology in advanced designs that give you the great sound and quality you expect from Kenwood. Their subwoofer enclosures are built to last, with solid enclosures and subs made to kick out the jams.

Subs built to dish it out

The P-XW1002B enclosure comes loaded with one 10" 4-ohm Excelon Series shallow-mount subwoofer. The sub's cone is made from an advanced carbon glass fiber honeycomb material to give you clear, rich bass at high volume levels. The speaker is designed to dissipate heat generated by extended high-powered use, and features a die-cast aluminum basket that keeps everything steady.

A box made to take it

The rugged enclosure is built from 5/8" MDF with a 3/4" thick internal baffle to give the sub solid support. The enclosure's down-firing design allows it to fit under many truck and SUV seats. It also works well in cargo areas, as you can stack items on top of the enclosure.

This box handles up to 250 watts RMS, so you'll want an amplifier with plenty of power to get the best from this enclosure. Whatever power source you choose, you'll get superb bass response with the performance and quality you need.

Q
Will this speaker give good sound in a 2016 Toyota 4runner? I recently purchased Focal for the doors and kicker for the midrange front from you. I also purchased a plug and play 5 channel Amp from a different vendor that has the capability of pushing 75 watts per speaker and 300 watts to the sub. Any insight would be helpful

I run this sub in my 2016 4Runner and love it! I have it powered by a Kenwood Excelon X502-1, 500 watts at 2 ohms. It puts out plenty of bass and I don't have it anywhere near max'd out. I am using speaker level inputs and the stock head unit with no complaints. I started off by swapping out all of the OEM speakers. Kickers in the dash and doors, and Hertz in the rear hatch. Sound was improved but when I would turn up the volume the bass would rattle the doors and the sound would fall apart. I decided to get the amp and sub and it really brought it all together. Next step is a 4 channel amp but I'm not ready. I hope this helps!

Thanks for your question. For information on selecting the best amp/sub combo I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to help determine the differences between the models and help you make the best choice for your system.
