Makes install much easier than tracing factor wires and splicing into the factory harness
Pros: Keeps you from tracing factory harness and splicing wires
Cons: There was a blue antenna wire and orange factory illumination wire that I had to Google/research on my own to put this together. Old harness was very reluctant to separate from radio and made plugging in the new harness cumbersome. Maybe including the wiring grease would be a good idea?

Good harness... GREAT customer service!
John from Georgetown, KY on 4/4/2023
The wiring harness was exactly the part I needed. But this review is more about the customer service I received than it is about the part itself. I had to call in to ensure I was getting the right part I needed. The service technician listened to what I was trying to accomplish... asked questions and then found the wiring harness I needed for the specific stereo deck and vehicle I was mounting it into. He was VERY professional and didn't speak down to me like the novice that I am. Once I received the part and had installed the stereo, I had to call back because I was having and issue with the sound, coming out of the speakers, being at a VERY low volume level. Again, the technician was EXCELLENT in listening to my description and asked questions that led him to be able to tell me exactly what was going wrong with my installation. I followed his instructions and the problem was solved. I have been SO very pleased with the customer service I've received from Crutchfield!

A handy harness to have
Greg from Chesapeake, VA on 3/1/2023
This is a standard for harness connector, so should work with most applications, but let your Crutchfield rep confirm for you! These harness make installation so much easier, and include very clear instruction whether you are soldering or crimping you connections. If wiring or splicing is not your thing, Crutchfield can install this on your new unit for you.
Pros: Clear instructions
Cons: Requires wiring ability

The Metra wiring harness allows you to hook your aftermarket radio to the stock wiring harness without having to cut factory wiring. The wires on this harness are the same colors that are on the radio, so there is really no way to mess things up.
Pros: Is included at no extra cost with the radio you buy. Metra sets the standard for making the installation of an aftermarket radio really easy. No cutting or splicing your factory wiring harness
Cons: I've been using Metra products for years now and I've never found a problem with any Metra products.

2003 Expedition DOES NOT FIT
Nate from Orange County, CA on 4/30/2021
2003 Ford Expedition
2003 Expedition DOES NOT FIT factory harness. Discovered this as I went to plug it in (very last step of a 4-speaker, head unit, & backup cam overhaul). I then began reading reviews and saw another customer with the same review. Had no reason to conduct this research prior (lesson learned there) So why did I put my make and model in anyways?? And why after another customer (likely many others) experienced this problem, was this not addressed? I entrusted Crutchfield and their "47 years" of experience with providing me with the correct hardware to make these upgrades seamless. I guess I made a mistake there! Be sure to do your research people.
Pros: All the wires mated up excellent; customer service is awesome; install instructions made the job very manageable, even with little experience; all other products in my order appear to be correct
Cons: Inputted make and model and shopped specific products which would be compatible with my vehicle, and this part (obviously a critical component) rapidly halted progress and forced me to regress and undo all the connections, deal with the customer service hassle of correcting it, and now wait until the issue is resolved.

Very nice and easy touch , all color coded just attach wires to the radio harness and plug and play ! I used butt connectors that had the heat shrink wrap on the ends to really seal the wires . Plugged in the factory radio connector and everything worked perfectly , balance , fade etc. Makes a very quick perfect install in minutes instead of hours .
