The kit specifies Magnum/Crysler. But this works well on a 2004 RAM. It make the job so much easier. To rewire the wires from the doors would have taken so much longer. For the money this wiring kit is excelent. I would highly recomment it.

Features

Wiring Harness: This wiring harness prevents you from having to cut your vehicle's factory radio plug when replacing your factory radio with an aftermarket head unit. Simply solder or crimp the wiring harness to your aftermarket head unit's harness (solder & crimps not included), plug the aftermarket head unit's plug into the rear chassis of the aftermarket head unit, and plug the wiring harness into your vehicle's factory radio plug.

Note: Installation tools, hardware, & accessories are not included & sold separately. Please see the Accessories tab for recommendations & availability.

Wiring Notes: If the wiring harness is not equipped with a ground wire, you will need to ground the aftermarket head unit's ground wire to the metal chassis of your vehicle. Some vehicle's may require you to bypass the vehicle's factory amplifier (in another location from factory radio) or hardwire certain connections. If your vehicle is equipped with factory steering wheel controls, an additional adapter is required & sold separately.

Is the only difference between this and the 9-wire product the fact that you don't have to cut into the factory wires with this one?

Greetings Jeremy. Thank you for your question. A 9 wire will carry the 8 speakers wires and a remote amp turn on. This factory amp bypass also includes factory plugs, constant power, switched power, ground, and also a center speaker/tweeter harness.

i have a 2005 grand cherokee limited. I purchased a kenwood head unit a couple years back and had yall install the factory connection on it. So now i want to bypass amp and replace speakers. Do i just undo the connections yall made and add this? Thank you for any help.

Generally speaking, this is the case. However, I would recommend reaching out to our tech support team when you are ready to perform the bypass so that we may guide you through which connections need to be undone and which may be left in place. We do not offer an amp bypass harness for this vehicle. You would need to run new wiring for that.

You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your factory system. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you.

Yes, if you're trying to bypass the factory amplifier. If no factory amplifier in vehicle, you wouldn't be needing this harness, but a different one..

I used it with an aftermarket radio. It worked great. Im nor sure if the factory unit has enough power to drive the system without the amp

OK, So what I want to do is delete the OEM amplifier and run my head unit direct to the speakers without running all new wires to the doors and under the carpet and removing body panels. I'm not sure how this harness does all that, or if it does all that. Seems like what I would need would have two connectors at each end. One to connect the head unit input side into the amplifier output side. Right?
