I paid a lot of money for this radio because I thought that Pioneer had a good reputation. It turned out I was wrong. The mic stopped working after a little more than a year. Pioneer's service is useless. I will never buy another Pioneer product.

Amazing features

What a nice audio unit, installed in my 2007 Honda Odyssey and it looks amazing, my wife said it's a 2024 Odyssey now. It really makes your ride look more luxury. It puts out good sound. I love the auto connect wireless CarPlay - I no longer have to plug in to usb. What a great deal for what you get, you only get 2volts to rcas but if you're an audiophile then get the next model up of this unit and it will provide 4volts but for the everyday average person this unit is a rockstar.

Pioneer DMH-WT3800NEX

Works great in our 2015 Highlander and adds wireless CarPlay and Android Auto to the vehicle. Stereo sounds great and connectivity to the vehicle works well. The larger floating screen is much better than the smaller 7" options. Keep in mind it's only Sirius XM ready and you need the separate Sirius XM receiver if you want to use that feature. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is the screen does pick up some glare in certain lighting conditions. We may look into an anti glare screen cover.

Great sounding head unit. May not be powerful for some but plenty loud in my tacoma. Installed this before I upgraded the speakers and even with stock speakers it really improved the sound quality. I was told by a rep that it would fit flush in my tacoma, but it was not the case.

Fast, Modern, and Reliable Product

Great product overall!!! Wireless android auto works well and the screen is pretty big with small bezels. Software looks much better than other stereos that look like they are from 2005. If you are thinking of getting this I'd recommend steering wheel controls for volume because adjusting it with the stereo sucks. Couple recommendations for Pioneer: 1. Volume is annoying to change from the stereo especially if you are driving. Small button that you have to continuously tap. Would be great to be able to drag my finger on top to adjust the volume like the Google Home Max (tap to pause too?). 2. When adjusting the volume there is an animation that slides up a volume level from the bottom of the stereo screen. While the animation is playing you can't adjust the volume. Annoying when the are spamming volume up or down and you are waiting for this animation to finish. 3. Google Cast / Airplay to the stereo. Wireless Mirrorlink at least! 4. Be able to change the Splashscreen from the CARAVAssist app 5. You have to press a button to see the backup camera lines every time you put it in reverse. Please save my preference because I am not going to press this button on the stereo every time. It would also be nice to have these lines be dynamic moving the steering wheel

Great Unit

This was my first install since high school and a lot has changed since then. Despite me installing the head unit upside down the first time, everything went smoothly. I am really enjoying the wireless car play feature and it's given new life to my old pickup truck

Awfull for the price

For a pioneer product this is so bad. I've had nothing but problems with this thing. As I speak it keeps turning on and off with no wiring issues. Plus the price is insane. The UI looks awfull unless if it's on android auto or apple carplay. I've had to take it to a shop 5 times not and it's still not fixed. I got the backup camera for it too and I mean yeah it works with it no problems so ig that's a plus. I also like how you can controll the subwoofer kill switch straight from the sterio so there are 2 good things but the rest is so bad

Very nice!

Install was fairly simple with the suggested accessories. Sound is good CarPlay works pretty quickly. The only thing I was a little disappointed with was the plastic mounting bracket. As others have said it's kinda flimsy. Just installed so time will tell about long term quality. 2012 Ram 3500 looks like it belongs there. Nice navigation screen and automatically pulls up directions to home. Haven't tried all of the functions but pretty impressed so far.

It's great, big improvement over the stock head unit. I Installed this in my Mitsubishi Outlander Sport - had some trouble getting the head unit to switch to the backup camera when shifting to reverse, turns out that two of the wiring connectors included in the maestro kit were mislabeled from the factory. I called Crutchfield Tech Support and they spent a fair amount of time talking me through things, eventually I called Maestro directly and they helped identify the mislabeled cables and after that everything is working the way it should. Also the ODB info wasn't initially loading so had to choose the "always on" ODB option along with "Load PID".

Major improvement over the factory JBL

First of all I have made several purchases from Crutchfield in the past 10 years. THEY ARE GREAT! I bought a Sony for my Highlander and the dash kit looked horrible. There was a large gap around the face of the head unit. Crutchfield took it back with no hassle whatsoever. They steered me toward this Pioneer and I was sceptible based on the reviews I read. However, once I installed it, I was very pleased. I payed very close attention to installation detail, making sure that all connections were solid and secure. So far I have not experienced any glitches with the screen freezing up like the reviews said. It looks great and sounds even better. I'm thinking about buying another one for my truck. I think if anyone is considering this stereo, it is a solid choice. Like anything aftermarket, Attention to detail during installation is critical.

2006 Sequoia with JBL

Ordered this unit for our 2006 Sequoia and it fits perfectly. Floating screen is kinda the new thing but it allows for you to have a larger screen which we liked, especially for CarPlay. It fits perfectly in between the two front vents without blocking it and was so easy to install with the factory JBL system with the Readyharness and wiring adapters. Literally plug and play. The longest part was running the 3 extra wires for reverse, parking break and speed sense. Sounds super great and wireless CarPlay is what we wanted. This unit fits the bill. Large screen, wireless CarPlay, and name brand.

An excellent product! Worth the money!

I really like it so far. The mounting bracket that came with it doesn't quite work with my 2014 GMC Sierra, but I was able to get the unit in. As far as the unit goes I couldn't have asked for a better one for the price. Love the wireless connection. The display is awesome! Very customizable. I'll enjoy this for years.

Replaced 1.5 DIN in RV

I was struggling to find a replacement in a Tiffin motorhome. It came with a 1.5 din radio and not enough space for a 2.0 din. I bought this one and love it. The install wasn't bad at all and it's mounted well. Also, because of the floating head, I can reach the large touch screen easily from the driver's seat.

Do Not Buy

I have had noting but problems with this unit since the 6-month mark after installation. The touch lag is awful, but the constant freezing and re-booting has made it unusable. This seems to be a common problem with this unit and Pioneer doesn't have any info on a fix. I have installed 20+ head units over the years and this one is, by far, the most problematic I have ever dealt with. It's not an istallation issue - It's a software/firmware issue. This may be the last Pioneer product I ever buy. If you do buy one, please wait until the warranty expires before submitting a review so that others have accurate information.

Works awesome, great big screen with bright display. I had to update the firmware from 1.55 to 1.56 to fix a looping Siri input issue for CarPlay, but flawless afterward. Only other complaint would be the interface is slightly laggy, but no more than most other aftermarket stereos in this price range.

Exceptional Head Unit

Full of glitches don't buy it

On my very first trip (4 hours) after install I had 1. Speed display on screen jumps from actual speed to 20-30 mph below and continues to jump back and forth 2. Screen went blank even though gps was still going 3. Lost connection and couldn't find my device at all even though it was sitting right where it had been the whole time. 4. Steering volume control randomly stopped working so I went to turn down the volume on the unit and it was locked up also so I couldn't adjust the volume at all until I turned the unit off and reconnect etc. 5. Glitchy in and out cutting off of music playing. 6. Barely step out of the car like open the door to loosen gas cap and it loses connection. I can not wait to return this thing sorry pioneer you lost me forever.

I purchased this for my daughter's car and hooked a kicker 800.1 with two 12 inch bazooka bass tubes. I'm very impressed with its performance and the fact that with the maestro module, the car basically lost none of its factory functions!

DMH-WT3800NEX in 2018 Toyota Avalon XLE Premium

2018 Toyota Avalon XLE Premium. I have not installed a car stereo in 35 years, but the lack of wireless CarPlay and Android Auto in my wife's car was driving me crazy. I think it turned out well - see photos. The only hard part was the Metra dash kit - I am glad I watched a YouTube video of an Avalon installation using that exact Metra dash kit or I probably would have had problems. Beyond that, the Pioneer radio, iDataLink interface module, and wiring harnesses were super-easy and everything worked perfectly. Of the three mounting options Pioneer gives you, I chose option #2: [option #1] screen flush without tilt capability, [option #2] floating screen with tilt capability and no spacer and [option #3] floating screen with tilt capability and spacer. I initially tried to do the flush option #1, but it was incompatible with the geometry of the Metra dash kit and now that I have experienced the floating mount with tilt capability, I am glad the flush mount didn't work out. My son says he will 3D print a blank to fill the void behind the screen, but you can't see the void at all when you are in the car. I feel like I lost access to some of the more esoteric car configuration options (and I do have the iDataLink interface module), but I haven't changed any of those esoteric configuration options since I bought the car. Sound quality is good with stock speakers. I like this radio better than the one I have in my 2024 VW.

Buggy, unreliable, look elsewhere

I had high hopes for this unit, based on positive reviews. My experience, however, has been nothing but disappointment and frustration. Installation went well and Crutchfield's service was excellent, as expected. Initial impressions of the Pioneer unit were underwhelming- the system software is clunky and dated and responsiveness is at times very slow. We frequently use Sirius XM but its display is interrupted when a phone text is received. Multiple screen inputs (again, with very slow response times) are required to return to the Sirius display. This is very disruptive when driving. The worst aspect of this unit, however, has been the multiple instances of the system freezing, the screen blanking, and often fully rebooting. This happens at random times and has happened a lot. These have all continued after firmware updates, system resets, and calls to Crutchfield. In the end, I regret this purchase and wish I had selected a manufacturer other than Pioneer.

Headache - Stay away until they fix connection issues

This Could be a great aftermarket unit. I wanted to upgrade my 19' Tundra head unit and this was a reasonably priced option. Unfortunately I immediately had connectivity issues. Bluetooth to wifi, unit saying it's connected in one area but then not working. I then ran into a problem that seemed to be worse when hot. Unit would say connected, EQ would show music playing but had no sound coming through speakers. This happened with Apple Car Play, radio, BT and with AUX/USB cable plugged in. Unit is now with Pioneer and Best Buy. This has been a frustrating process. With technology these days you would think the software could be more functional. I am confident there is software out there that could work better. I would look at options other than Pioneer if looking for a unit in this category. Pioneer Was my first go to, until now.

Great Upgrade!

Really Happy upgrading from a 2015 Pioneer NEX4100. Wireless Carplay is nice Uprgrade. The backup camera loads much faster. Sound quality is improved. Increased screen size is nice, as well as the ability to tilt the screen to reduce glare. The install was plug and play for me because I was replacing the Pioneer NEX4100, which had the same plug. Pictured in my 2011 Tacoma.

This was the best upgrade I've ever done. Brought my 2014 Town and Country into 2024. Easy to install thanks to Crutchfield! Everything was plug and play, I didn't have to splice a single wire. Runs Android Auto great, easy to use. Voice commands are flawless. Call quality is perfect. No complaints on this one!

Nice stereo, but one big problem

Nice stereo with good size screen, audio sound was excellent, but like other reviewers I had major echo issues with the BT calling. My callers would get a bad echo back in their ear. I moved the microphone to different spots, changed multiple settings on my phone and Crutchfield even sent me a replacement mic, but the issue would not go away. I paid a little more for the Sony XAV-9500EA and my BT calling is clear with no echos.

Pioneer 3800 NEX

A really good system that has great sound and has all the things I want for for my entertainment needs. Love the large screen and the sound. Wireless Car Play What I dont like. I dont like the fact that I cannot edit the menu for the NEX for example I use iOS and CarPlay I find Android apps a nuisance and would like to remove them from the clutter. I dont like the fact that there is no Fade or Balance for the speakers since the solution Pioneer uses sitting position which I dont think helps with the sound of my speakers. Sometimes the system gets confused and reboots all on its own. This has happened at least 4 times. I am holding on to the systems but would I buy this again? I dont think so. Crutchfield : Customer Support and Tech Support is amazing my last 4 purchases for vehicles have been from Crutchfield and their assistance has been very helpful.

So many features on this Beautiful Stereo!!

My new Pioneer Car stereo is amazing. What's even more amazing is the assistance from Crutchfield Techs with installing it. They helped me solve a few issues using my steering wheel buttons. They work great now. They have always been good to me. If you get the pre built cables that match new radio to your specific vehicle Crutchfield makes it even easier to install. Great HU, even BETTER customer service!

Have had various Pioneers for years and this one is excellent as most have been. Install was pretty straightforward; ran into an issue with the backup cam and luckily got connected with Wolf from customer service! Wolf's the man! In an age of terrible service everywhere you go, Wolf was absolutely unbelievable in fixing my problem! Just an awesome experience with Crutchfield overall...will be buying all of my electronics from them going forward.

Nice radio

Install was a breeze, radio sounds good and I love the equalizer. I wish there were more display options for the main display, the all grey look is boring and it has a really nice but hard to see grey colored spectrum analyzer hidden behind the radio station information I keep it in the gps screen for a better look. I love all the sound adjustments you can really make this thing sound good with a little time tweaking the eq and loudness controls. Overall it's a great radio.

Clear and responsive touchscreen, great sound, nice features. A bit complicated to assemble and install yourself, the instructions could be much better. Nothing shows which connection does what on OEM or new unit. Like the features. One improvement I would like would to be able to angle the screen side to side not just up and down.

Unacceptable BT Calling

I love the look, fit, and finish of this product. I like a monitor that is clean and where the LCD area is maximized. Not a big fan of wide bezels or large buttons on the monitor. The Pioneer screen just looks sleek and awesome. Here is the issue...when conducting a BT call the person on the other end will hear a bad echo and horrible sound quality. I was able to determine that the issue is that the microphone is picking up noise from the speaker, but moving the mic all over the vehicle could not solve this issue. I hoped it was a mechanical issue with the head unit or the mic, but I obtained a replacement unit and had the exact same issue. The stock hands free calling mic/HU in my 2015 car did not have this problem, so the industry has figured this out for 10 years. Why Pioneer couldn't seem to get this straight is simply beyond me. Do a Google search, this is a very common issue. I wonder if those giving the unit 5 stars are just living with this or don't care. I do a lot of work from my car, and I cannot have echo and sound quality issues.

Not great

Issues with Siri when sending messages. Only works about 3 out of 10 times. Will send what Siri says and not the actual message. For example when you try and send a message it will ask, "what do you want to..." then cut off and sent that to the person. Trying to update the software is a nightmare. It's pretty much impossible.

Nice unit

Very nice unit. Though not perfect. Great sound, great screen, great controls. Not so great siri. When using Siri the unit doesn't mute the playing audio and tries to respond to the audio . Gets into this weird loop thing. Pressing the home button usually ends the loop. Installation was a little tough but Crutchfield helped out and all is good. Overall I would buy it again. It's a solid unit and looks great.

Installed this unit in a 07 Ram 2500 and it fits and looks great. Added all the extra features I needed to match a newer truck. I use the apple car play and so far it has worked flawless with no connection issues. The wiring harness worked like it should and the instructions were easy to follow. I would recommend this unit if you want the added CarPlay features in your vehicle.

Love It!

This is a great unit! A couple of things stop me from giving it a 5th star: preamp outputs are very wimpy at 2 volts, and the massive owners manual is not particularly well written. I used the factory amp in my '11 Challenger RT (276 watts) and the graphic equalizer, adjustable crossovers, and time adjustments really made the factory amp and 6 speakers sound great! The screen is a perfect fit, sitting right between the HVAC controls and the dash vents above it. Since I installed the Maestro, I have several gauges to choose from, as well as the performance screen. The Android Auto did not require me to plug my phone in for the setup, contrary to everything I had read. The map screen is very sharp and easy to see. I've been very happy with it, including the voice controls! Crutchfield is a great company to do business with, and had I needed any help, it's great to know that they are only a phone call away! Not having an HD radio is not an issue for me, as I have very few radio stations that I can tune-in here in the Antelope Valley of California. I highly recommend this head unit, and especially Crutchfield, as they do their homework and can help with pretty much anything you need.

It's just okay

First, the experience w/ Crutchfield was great, no issues at all! I want to love this radio, but I believe my experience w/ other radios and smartphones has led me to believe this would be better than it is. It sounds great, as it should. The letdown here is the overall experience, mostly due to the software. The menus are clunky and not intuitive in any fashion. Sometimes you swipe up and down, other times left and right and you don't really know when. Radio presets are an awful experience, as is any real functionality w/ satellite radio. While there is some customization in terms of aesthetics, layout functionality is mostly frozen in place and it's not great. Android Auto is temperamental. The entire unit is built around being a large screen interface, and it falls apart in that very department. Pioneer makes great sounding equipment, however maybe they should've outsourced interface development. This could be resolved with updates, but I doubt it will ever happen. I upgraded from my stock touch screen unit, and at this point, the upgrade was incremental in sound delivery only. Shame, I really banked on the Pioneer name.

Well worth it! Awesome Quality!

Awesome fit and finish! I installed the radio in my 2017 Hyundai Tucson. I was able to retain steering wheel controls, factory backup camera, USB and Aux inputs as well as using the factory XM antenna. Large clear screen with very good touch functions. Vast improvement over my factory screen and Jenson 9" that's failed on me. Microphone for phone is much better quality that stock.

Big upgrade!

This is a huge upgrade for my 2019 4Runner. I love the wireless CarPlay and the large screen. Installation was easy with Crutchfields's amazing support. Only drawback is that installation involves protruding about 2 inches from the panel. I don't mind it at all, but it could bother some people in this specific vehicle type.

Pioneer DMH-WT3800NEX

It is a much needed and welcome improvement over the factory unit in my 2011 f150 lariat limited. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is it's a bit tricky to connect to WiFi/hotspot on my phone to unlock all of the features this unit offers. Fit and finish is phenomenal though, and navigating throughout the screens and functions is super easy. I don't miss the factory unit one bit. Having integrated hvac controls I was a bit nervous if it was going to work correctly but it is seamless integration. Very satisfied with my purchase.

Great replacement head unit in my '18 Tacoma, better sound, great options for android users. The best part (to me) is that the deck mounts flush in the OEM faceplate. you have to cut the face off the mounting hardware and just use the arms. Dou may also have to drill out the holes a bit for a complete flush fit. Used the Maestro set up to retain all OEM factory settings (steering wheel, backup camera, etc.) Con: the unit is a bit slow responding to everything from camera in reverse to switching between apps. It seems like that would be an easy fix for Pioneer.

This unit works pretty well when it works. Overall I would say I had issues with echo being heard on the microphone and had to go back to the shop I installed it at and they had to give me a new microphone. It still sounds pretty bad. Also there's an issue with it not switching from day/night modes as well. Not sure where that issue comes from. Also, after Android 14 came out, my unit no longer connects wirelessly to my phone. Lastly, keep in mind this unit has no "knob" to adjust volume, so if you go through a drive-thru you have to "hold" down the minus key to bring it down... In hindsight i would have preferred to get a unit with a center knob for volume control

Great set of features, not all work well

Works well at times, can tell it's made more for Android Auto than Apple Carplay (can't remove app shortcut from screen like you can others). Have issues with it accepting phone calls at times, kinda slow/buggy on that part. Sometimes caller complains of echo and being able to hear. This happens with each phone I try so far. Also sometimes Carplay will not connect. Screen brightness could be better and dimming feature doesn't work well when you need it. Screen is nice, sound quality is good. Would rate 5 star if Carplay would connect every time and phone call quality was better.

Installed with Maestro RR,nice radio, scren looks good, but it is a bit complicated to get to the menu or function that you are looking for, especially while driving. It does have some really cool features.

I'm not sure why you would want to spend more on a radio upgrade. This thing isn't cheap of course, but it all anyone really needs. Why spend three or four times the price of this excellent unit? It was really easy to install too. The instructions are easy to follow and I highly recommend the more expensive install kit. It's a matter of flashing the little "brain box" interface unit, plugging in a few components, and bolting it into the car. No soldering necessary.

When making or receiving a phone call using CarPlay, I had many complaints that an echo could be heard. After some troubleshooting, the echo seemed to only occur when using CarPlay and not when making a call with the phone connected as a Bluetooth device. When using Siri for voice commands, Siri would respond to its responses and create an infinite loop of responding. Both of these issues indicate some form of software issue related to CarPlay on the DMH-WT3800NEX. In addition to the voice issues with CarPlay, wireless CarPlay on this device connects inconsistently; often times requiring multiple attempts to connect. I contacted Pioneer support to report the problems, in hopes that a firmware update would be issued. I was told the following: - Engineers are aware of the issues with Siri, and the device was never intended to support Siri. - The technical support agent I spoke with had received multiple calls regarding the issues with echo in the past month, and was informed by engineering / senior technical staff that they are aware of the issue but will not be releasing a firmware update to resolve the issues. They do not expect any changes in behavior. If CarPlay functioned as expected, I would rate it a 5/5; but given the current experience (if you are a CarPlay user), as well as Pioneer's response to the issue, 1/5 is being generous.

Awesome head unit

I got this head unit for my 2015 Toyota Avalon. Installation was super easy with the harnesses recommended by Crutchfield. The idatalink Maestro let me keep all the factory options plus seeing tire pressure from individual tires, which did not come with factory. Sound quality is superior. I got this hooked up an aftermarket sound system and it rocks. Apple Carplay and Android Auto connect automatically and wirelessly when I start the car, which is convenient. The 9" screen is also a big plus compared to the factory head unit.

It's a good replacement the standard F-150 radio. Great touchscreen, car play and Bluetooth. Phone pairs seamlessly. Car Play works well too. FM reception good, AM typical of modern radios. Boots up quickly.

Quality build, clumsy customizations

Love the screen fit and finish, I do wish it was brighter though. It's got a good amount of features for the price. The customizations are a bit clumsy and don't really change much. Also, it has been inconsistent in re-connecting to my phone. I have a Sony head unit that is similar in spec and this process is flawless, it's 2023, this shouldn't be an issue.

Great radio

So far so good. Only been in vehicle 48 hours. Installed into 2012 ram 1500 with base radio. Speakers are all infinity brand, no amp. Music quality from radio, Bluetooth is excellent. Hearing sounds,notes,lyrics I never heard before from the same songs. Touch screen is responsive and quick. Colors aren't very vivid, and map details could be sharper that's due to the resolution of the screen.

Wireless Car Play is Awesome. Screen is big and impressive. Adaptable to many installation options. I used the iDatalink Maestro to customize my steering wheel controls. Now i can hold down my volume up on the steering wheel to turn the volume up fast. Also plugs into the car with the iDatalink Maestroso so that tire pressure, and other information is viewable on the screen. Very happy with this stereo.

Great radio. Sounds good. The install was pretty straight forward. I thought it would be more difficult as never installed a floating radio before. Since the the radio was a single din there was plenty of room for all the wires in the dash.

Great entry level model for a feature rich series!

Yes, this does fit a Fiat 500 2011-2015! Been researching a radio replacement for my 2015 Fiat 500 Abarth to get rid of the from 2005. Decided to go with a well-known manufacturer and glad Pioneer came in with an entry level model for their NEX series. Very handsome layout, very nice interface that allows for a good amount of customization. No sound issues with my factory Beats audio system. Paired it with an iDataLink Maestro RR plus the FIAT specific harness and after install of the NEX unit it was up and running. One thing to note is for the initial setup, connect to your home WiFi or phones hotspot sharing to accept the EULA's so the unit will get internet access for its apps like weather. I'm no audiophile, so I found the audio preset options just fine. I absolutely love that Pioneer thought out of the box and allows you to have a floating or flush setup. I do plan on doing a 2016+ interior swap my fiat 500 and will change it so the flush setup for an OEM look. Right now, it's mounted with the METRA single din FIAT 500 kit, the skosche isn't compatible with the DMH (need ISO mounts). Cructchfield is half correct. The unit doesn't normally fit my model Fiat 500 before 2016, but if you take off the front plastic bezel, it shortens the unit enough to fit so the harness doesn't rub against the floating bracket for the OEM radio cage in the ack, but you'll have exposed metal in the front.

Big screen upgrade for my 2015 Subaru Outback

The touch screen on my OEM stereo bit the dust and I needed a replacement. I picked up the Pioneer DMH-WT3800NEX and IDatalink kit, and I must say that I'm very happy with my choice. Pros: BIG screen, way bigger than the OEM unit. Reasonably priced option. Ability to position the screen higher, lower or offset to left or right. Ability to tilt the screen after it is mounted. Android Auto (AA) always connects with my Pixel 6. My wife and I can connect at the same time using Bluetooth. Using IDatalink system most stuff works: Backup camera, steering wheel controls, TPMS, the backup cross-traffic alert beeps, but doesn't indicate direction of incoming traffic. The DMH-WT3800NEX also detects OBD2 error codes, and it looks like maybe it can also reset them (haven't tested). Did I mention the big screen? Cons: IDatalink adds a lot of cost. Had to add a microphone (but it sounds better than OEM). Fingerprint magnet. Poor guidance on options for GPS antenna mounting. Couldn't get the USB to work with OEM port (I haven't called for support on this yet as it's not a big deal to me). While using AA the phone screen stays on and its battery drains (this is more an issue with AA). This unit is a little more difficult to install than I've experienced before because you have to mount the body of the stereo first and then mount the screen, which makes it harder to troubleshoot (install, test, remove screen, remove body, adjust, install body, install screen

Installed in a 2015 Nissan Frontier. Using the iMaestro kit and appropriate harnesses, everything was plug and play. Must difficult part was running the microphone wire from the rear view mirror location back to the head unit. I mounted the GPS antenna right on top of the head unit as it's directly located under the plastic dash storage tray so I saw no need to have it exposed. All factory speakers and steering wheel controls, and backup camera were kept and work fine. Wireless CarPlay is working well and it sounds perfectly fine with the factory speakers. The factory backup camera is rather low resolution and you'll notice this once you see it on this unit's large 9" screen.

Huge Improvement Over Factory Radio

The DMH-WT3800NEX was a major upgrade to my 2017 Honda Civic EX-T. The stock radio had too few settings and the music sounded thin and hollow. Now music sounds more full and balanced. This Pioneer unit will also handle High-Res 24-Bit/192 kHz music playback through Qobuz streaming. With my old unit, there would be audio dropouts during playback of High-Res songs. That seems to be fixed as I haven't experienced that with this Pioneer unit. The Metra dash kit also improves climate controls by having them on a separate screen. I highly recommend it for anyone wanting improved sound quality, increased screen size and more customization settings over their factory unit. This radio gives you the most bang for your buck, and Crutchfield had the best deal with free 2-day shipping. You can't go wrong with this upgrade.
