Features

Overview: JL Audio's SB-J-WRUD/10TW1/BK Stealthbox has been specifically designed to fit select 2007 - 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with a black interior. It features a single 10" 10TW1-4 subwoofer in a custom sealed enclosure that mounts above the passenger side rear wheel-well. A driver side version is available here.The enclosures for either side can be used individually or as a pair for even more bass. Both enclosures are also available in grey.

Subwoofers: The JL Audio Stealthbox's single 10" 10TW1-4 subwoofer offers a powerful combination of a shallow mounting depth and high excursion capability, producing deep powerful bass from a small enclosure. The single 4 ohm subwoofer is capable of handling up to 300 watts RMS and includes a sturdy steel mesh grill for protecting the driver.

Enclosure: The Stealthbox sealed enclosure is made from 100% fiberglass and finished in automotive black carpet. The enclosure has been configured to mount over the passenger side rear wheel-well and won't affect installation or removal of the vehicle's hard-top.

Will it fit if I installed a rear seat tilt? How much space is between the sub box and the seat? The lean kit reclined the rear seat back about 1.5 to 2 inches. Want to be sure the box will still fit.

I don't think it will work with the tilt kit. There is very little to no room between the back of the rear seat and the subwoofer. In fact, sometimes I have to kind of push the rear seat back forcefully to get it to latch. I have not tried to see if I can adjust the position of the subwoofer to better accommodate things. I don't know if that's possible.

Rick I dont think it would work. I dont have the lean kit on my jeep. The back seat and the sub is really tight and pressing against the back of the .

The box is right up against the rear seat on my 2016 JKU. I have doubts that the box will still fit with a recline kit. I hope that helps Rick.

It most likely will not fit. It is tight to the seats and I also wanted to install the blocks to let the seat back. My best suggestion would be to install it on the single seat and keep the other two tilted. So the answer is no, but I do recommend getting it as it looks and works great.

It's actually a snug fit, so there would be no chance for the seat to recline at all.

I recommend for you to ask JL audio. I do not think so. All I know is that I believe that if you install this you may not able to recline your back seat if its a JLU. Cause sub wont let you. I bought the passenger side.

How much net airspace is there in this sub? I know what the driver's spec says for minimum but I would like to know what the spec is for this unit. That is, net space after subtracting the speaker volume and all internal bracing.

The JL Audio Stealthboxes are all custom made and shipped directly from JL's warehouses upon purchase, so we don't have enough hands-on access with them to determine detailed specifications, including the net airspace. Each system contains one 10TW1-4 in a sealed enclosure with 300 watt power handling. Each enclosure is wired for 4 ohms (using two achieves a 2 ohm load in parallel). A steel mesh grille is included with each to protect the subwoofer driver. Each enclosure installs above one rear wheel well, with specific models for passenger and driver side. Does not affect hard top installation.

Can you tell me what the inside clearance is between the L and R woofer grills? 2012 JKU trying to determine if cargo box will still fit between stealth subs.

The sub sits on top of the fender well so the grill only sits only about 1.5" inside of the base of the cargo area. Said differently, a vertical straight edge along the grill face touches the bottom of the cargo area about 1.5" from the side of the cargo area.

Short answer is I don't know about the 2 door (mine is a 4 door). There are 3 brackets that hold it in place. One attaches to the seat belt bolt behind the back sets, the other two attach to the bolts that hold the hard top on. If the orientation of those three connection points isn't the same on a 2 door vs 4 door then I do not think it will fit a 2 door w/o drilling some new holes for connection points. If you like this model better than the box that fits in the cargo area depression it may be worth ordering and then sending back if it doesn't work for you. I LOVE this unit btw. I have just one and has all the bass I could ever need.

Yes. The speaker is mounted over the rear wheel well behind the back seat. The front seats will not be obstructed.

We mounted ours in a 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. It came with all the mounting hardware, so no need to drill any holes.

No drilling required at least for the hard top wrangler. The bolts that hold the hard top on are replaced with bolts that are provided with the speaker. Easy install.
