It uses Digital Reality Creation--Multi Function (v2.5) to create a high \r\ndensity video signal that traditional interpolation video processing cannot \r\nachieve.

Native Resolution: This TV has a full HD native resolution of 1920 x 1080 with over 2 million \r\npixels (more than twice the pixels of 720p HDTV). The TV's three HDMI inputs can \r\naccept 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i, 1080p and 1080/24p signals, and the two component video \r\ninputs can accept 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i and 1080p signals. Game/Text Mode: This mode \r\nprovides the optimum screen settings for viewing images with fine lines and \r\ncharacters that are input from video game equipment and PCs.

P&P and PIP Features: The TV features P&P (picture and picture) \r\nand PIP (picture in picture) to allow you to view two \r\npictures simultaneously. P&P provides two windows side by \r\n\tside with A/V inputs and TV channels. The main window can be from the \r\n\tcomponent 1 or 2 or HDMI 1 or 2 inputs (except PC timing), while the sub \r\n\twindow comes from a TV channel from the VHF/UHF/Cable input. PIP displays \r\nthe PC input signal in the main window and TV channels in the sub window. You \r\ncan move the sub window to different corners of the screen.

Favorite Channel: This feature \r\nallows you to store and quickly access 30 of your favorite analog and digital \r\nchannels.

Freeze Function: Press this \r\nbutton once to display a frozen image of the current program in a window on the \r\nscreen. Press again to show only frozen image on the TV screen. Press again to \r\nreturn to the program.

Jump Function: This feature \r\nallows you to jump back and forth between two channels. The TV alternates \r\nbetween the current channel and the last channel that was selected.

Label Channels: \r\nThis feature allows you to assign labels such as station call letter to the \r\nchannel numbers. You can use up to seven characters.

Input Label: Each of the six \r\nvideo inputs can be labeled with names (VCR, DVD, Satellite, etc.) instead of \r\nvideo 1, video 2, video 3, etc.

Caption Vision/Info \r\nBanner: This feature allows Closed Caption and/or channel programming \r\ninformation to be displayed on the TV screen. You can choose from CC1, CC2, CC3, \r\nCC4, Text1, Text2, Text3 and Text4. Digital Channel's Closed Captions can be \r\ncustomized. You can select Text-type, Character-size, Character-style, \r\nCharacter-color, Character-opacity, Edge-type, Edge-color, Background-color and \r\nBackground-opacity.

Sound Booster: Sound Booster provides \r\n\ta fuller sound with greater depth and width by emphasizing the high and low \r\n\tfrequency sounds. You can select High or Low for the amount of boost you \r\n\tdesire.

Voice Zoom: Adjusts the clarity of \r\n\thuman voices by emphasizing or softening vocals.

Steady Sound: Steady Sound equalizes \r\n\tvolume levels so there is consistent output between programs and \r\n\tcommercials.

Volume Offset: adjusts the volume \r\n\tlevel of the current input (TV or video input) relative to other inputs.

Timers: There is one event \r\ntimer and a sleep timer built in. The event timer is set for the day, time, channel, duration \r\nand volume. The sleep timer switches the television off \r\nafter a specified amount of time. The sleep timer can be set to 15, 30, 45, 60, \r\n90, or 120 minutes.
\r\n
Power Saving: This feature \r\nreduces the power consumption by adjusting the backlight brightness of the TV's \r\nscreen. This also enhances the black level of the television. You can select \r\nfrom Low, High, Off and Picture Off.
\r\n
Parental Control: You can \r\nselect a viewing limitation based on the TV and movie ratings. Three presets are \r\navailable (Child, Youth, and Y. Adult) or the limitation can be customized to \r\nspecific industry ratings. The control is accessed and protected by a 4-digit \r\npassword.
\r\n
PC Compatible: The television \r\ncan be used as a monitor for your PC through the TV's RGB HD-15 input or HDMI \r\ninput. The TV supports the following PC resolutions - VGA, SVGA, XGA, WXGA, SXGA \r\nand HDTV. You can adjust Phase, Pitch, Horizontal and Vertical Position and Wide \r\nMode of picture.

Wireless Remote Control: The TV \r\ncomes supplied with a wireless remote control (RM-YD017). The remote control is \r\npreset to operate Sony brand video equipment. The remote is also programmable to \r\nwork non-Sony brand equipment such as DVD, VCR, DVR, Satellite or Cable.

Removable Stand: The \r\ndisplay comes mounted on a removable tabletop stand. There is also a support \r\nbelt supplied that bolts to the base of the stand and is attached to the back of \r\nthe shelf on which the TV sits. The stand can be detached by removing 4 \r\nPhilips-head screws from the back panel of the TV.

Optional Wall Mount Brackets: The stand can be removed, allowing you to wall-mount the TV using an optional \r\nwall-mount bracket. The TV has 4 threaded screw holes with a horizontal spacing \r\nof 11-3/4" (300mm) and a vertical spacing of 7-7/8" (200mm). The screw holes \r\nall accept M6 (6mm) \r\nscrews.

HDMI: The KDL-40XBR4 features \r\nthree HDMI \r\ninputs, including one on the side panel. One input also has \r\nleft and right RCA audio jacks. The HDMI (High-Definition \r\nMultimedia Interface) terminals provide an uncompressed, all-digital audio/video \r\ninterface. With an HDMI-to-DVI cable, you can \r\nconnect the TV to a DVI-equipped A/V component. When connecting to a \r\nDVI-equipped component, the RCA audio inputs are used.

PC Input (RGB): A 15-pin HD15 \r\njack allows you to connect your personal computer to the display. There is also \r\na corresponding stereo mini-jack (3.5mm) for the computer's audio signal.

Side Panel AV Inputs: For \r\nconvenience, there are two A/V inputs on the left side panel of the TV. \r\nIncluded are an HDMI input as well as stereo RCA inputs and a composite video input.

Headphone Jack: Along with the \r\nA/V input on the left side of the TV, there is a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack. \r\nWhen headphones are plugged into the TV, the speakers are muted.

Analog Audio Outputs: These stereo RCA audio jacks allow you to \r\nlisten to the TV's audio through your stereo system. In the menu you can set the \r\noutput to Fixed (volume controlled by the receiver/amplifier) or Variable \r\n(volume controlled by the TV's remote control) operation.
