Features
General Overview: This unit is a precoded AND learning (programmable) remote. The buttons glow in the dark (light blue color). This unit requires four "AA" alkaline batteries which are not included. The approximate life span for the batteries is five months. The remote will maintain any learned code for up to one hour without batteries to allow for battery change.
Note:This remote is precoded for numerous other brands of equipment. For specific information, please contact a Crutchfield sales advisor.
Components: This unit can control up to 8 components. The component select buttons are marked as TV, VCR, CBL/SAT, DVD, CD, MD, TAPE and AMP, however, any component button can be assigned to another component so, for example, the CBL/SAT button could be set to control a second VCR. The unit is preset to control Sony components.
Learning function: In addition to the units which can be entered by using the supplied codes, this unit can also learn most functions of other infrared remotes; thus units which are not precoded can be learned. Learned commands may be erased one at a time or all at once for a specific component
Volume control of visual components: The unit is preset to control the volume from visual components such as VCRs by the Television's volume control; but this can be changed to controlling the volume through your receiver.
Data Transfer: Learned signals and component code settings can be transferred between this unit and another Sony RM-VL900 or a Sony RM-AV2100 remote control.
Macros: There are three System Control buttons on the unit which can each learn up to sixteen consecutive steps for one touch operation. In addition to these buttons, up to 8 Component select buttons can be set up with macros of up to 16 steps, giving you a total of up to 11 Macros.
System power-off function allows you to turn off all Sony components when the off button is pressed. Note that this works for Sony components ONLY.
Hold function: Locks all buttons to prevent accidental operation
Operating distance: Up to approximately 32.8 feet depending on the component which is being controlled.
