Portable Outdoor Design: The Sony SRS-XV800 is IPX4/IPX2- rated, meaning it is water resistance and can withstand light water spray. The SRS-XV800 portable speaker has caster wheels and built-in handles so you can easily move it. The handles can also be used to lift and carry the speaker. It is recommended that two people lift and carry the speaker since it weighs 40.7 lbs.

• The speaker is designed to sit vertically or horizontally. It has an IPX4 rating when positioned vertically and an IPX2 rating when positioned horizontally.
• Wired connections (including source and power connections) should be removed and the protective connector cover closed for the speaker to be fully IPX4 or IPX 2 rated.
• Do not power or charge the speaker via an AC outlet connection or charge an electronic device via the speaker's USB-A port when there is potential exposure to water.
• The SRS-XV800 is not water proof or dust tight. It should never be submerged in water and never left outside permanently.

Power Requirements: The Sony SRS-XV800 X-Series portable Bluetooth speaker can be powered via the included 59" detachable AC power cord, or its built-in lithium-ion rechargeable battery The built-in, rechargeable battery provides up to 25 hours of playback. It takes approximately 3 hours to fully charge the battery. The SRS-XV800 also offers quick charging, so only a 10 minute charge can provide up to 3 hours of playback. The speaker system features overcharging protection to keep the built-in battery in optimum condition.

• STAMINA Mode: In STAMINA mode, the SRS-XV800 speaker's lighting function and sound effects (including MEGA BASS mode) are automatically turned off to conserve energy power and save battery life.
• Auto Standby: If there is no audio signal or operation for approximately 15 minutes, the portable Bluetooth speaker will automatically go into Standby mode. Auto Standby does not function while a microphone or guitar is connected to the 1/4" TRS input. Auto Standby will also not function when one or both of the USB ports are being used to supply power or charge a device.

2-Way Driver Design: The Sony SRS-XV800 employs a 2-way driver design, featuring a total of five dome tweeters and two X-Balanced woofers, plus a passive bass radiator for full-range stereo sound. The five tweeters on the front and rear of speaker produce clear high-frequency sound all around; while the dual woofers and passive bass radiator produces deep and powerful bass.

• Five Dome Tweeters: The SRS-XV800 is equipped with a total of five dome tweeters. There are three 2.375" tweeters on the front of the speaker cabinet, as well as two 2.375" tweeters on the rear of the speaker enclosure. The five tweeter array immerses your listening space with omnidirectional high-frequency sound.
• X-Balanced Woofer: The SRS-XV800 houses dual 6.75" X-Balanced woofers featuring a unique rectangular design that allows for a larger surface area compared to conventional speaker units. The maximized diaphragm area increases sound pressure for a deeper and punchier bass sound, clearer mids, and an altogether better listening experience. It also reduces driver excursion while maintaining the same sound pressure, resulting in less distortion and greater clarity.
• Passive Bass Radiator: The rear-firing passive bass radiator works in tandem with the dual midbass/bass woofers to deliver even deeper, bigger, and louder bass response. The passive bass radiator also incorporates Sony's X-Balance design.

Sony Sound Technologies: The SRS-XV800 incorporates a variety of Sony propriety sound technologies to create bigger and deeper bass for your movie and music soundtracks, a wide open soundstage for a live audio experience, and better sound for TV and gaming.

• MEGA BASS: The Sony SRS-XV800 portable Bluetooth speaker's MEGA BASS feature allows you to dial up the bass even more for deeper and more impactful bass sound. There is a MEGA BASS button on the top-panel of the speaker.
• LIVE SOUND: With the SRS-XV800 Bluetooth speaker's LIVE SOUND feature you can recreate a unique atmosphere that simulates a live music experience for your favorite music tracks. Use the Sony Music Center App (for Apple iOS 11.0+ and Android OS 5.0+) to enable the LIVE SOUND feature.
• TV Sound Booster: When connected to your TV, the SRS-XV800's TV Sound Booster feature synchronizes the Bluetooth speaker's audio with the TV's audio for bigger bass and greater clarity. Use the Sony Music Center App (for Apple iOS 11.0+ and Android OS 5.0+) to enable the TV Sound Booster function.

Wireless Speaker Pairing: You can pair two Sony SRS-XV800 speakers together for stereo sound (Stereo Pair), or connect a number of X-Series speakers together for bigger sound (Party Connect).

• Stereo Pair: Using the Sony Music Center App (for Apple iOS 11.0+ and Android OS 5.0+), you can connect two SRS-XV800 speakers together to create a stereo pair for a wider stereo soundstage. One speaker will be designated as the Left channel, while the other speaker is designated as the Right channel.
• Party Connect: Using the Sony Music Center App (for Apple iOS 11.0+ and Android OS 5.0+), you are able to connect up to 100 compatible Sony X-Series speakers and sync music and lights. The same audio and lighting effects are played on every linked speaker.

Bluetooth 5.2: The Sony SRS-XV800 features Bluetooth 52 with support for wireless audio playback (A2DP) and control (AVRCP). You'll be able to wirelessly stream stored music, music apps, and other audio content from your Bluetooth-enabled smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer to the SRS-XV800 speaker system. The portable Bluetooth speaker system has a wireless range of approximately 98.4' (30m).

• Multi-Device Connection: You can pair multiple Bluetooth devices (up to 8) with the SRS-XV800 and keep two Bluetooth source devices connected at one time. When playback starts on one device while music playback is in progress on the other, the speaker switches the audio source from the latter to the former and starts outputting sound from the switched source device (Multi-device connection).
• Supported Codecs: In addition to supporting Bluetooth's standard SBC codec, the SRS-XV800 also supports Apple's AAC codec and Sony's LDAC codec. By supporting AAC, the SRS-XV800 offers better audio performance of the music streamed from your Apple iOS device. LDAC is a new audio technology from Sony that allows you to enjoy high quality wireless audio via Bluetooth. With 3x the data transmitted (compared to regular Bluetooth), LDAC provides an enhanced wireless listening experience.
• Auto-On/Off: The Sony SRS-XV800 speaker system can be set to automatically turn on when it senses a previously connected Bluetooth source device. The speaker system will automatically turn off after there is no Bluetooth audio signal or operation for approximately 15 minutes.

USB Port: The SRS-XV800 Bluetooth speaker is outfitted with a USB-A port for playback playback of MP3, WMA, WAV music files from a connected USB MSC (mass storage class) device, such as a USB thumbdrive. The USB MSC device must be formated in FAT 16 or 32 with no more than 300 folders and 2,000 total files. The USB port is rated at 5V/1.5A so it can also be used to charged your smartphone, tablet, or other electronic device.

Optical & Analog Audio Inputs: The Sony SRS-XV800 is equipped with an optical (toslink) digital input for connection to your TV. The optical digital input supports 2ch PCM, up to 24-bit/96kHz (not compatible with Dolby Digital, DTS, or other multichannel audio formats). The SRS-XV800 is also equipped with a 3.5mm Aux input for connection and playback of an external audio player or device.

Mic/Guitar Inputs: The Sony SRS-XV800 is equipped with a 1/4" mic input and a 1/4" combo mic/guitar input for connecting a dynamic microphone and a guitar (or two dynamic microphones) to the portable Bluetooth speaker. A button on the rear-panel of speaker switches the combo input between Mic or Guitar mode. The Mic and Mic/Guitar inputs have their own variable gain level to accommodate a variety of dynamic microphones and guitars.

Top-Panel Controls: The Sony SRS-XV800 offers soft touch controls on the top-panel of the speaker system that will operate Power On/Off, Volume Up/Down, and Play/Pause, and MEGA BASS functions.

App Compatible: The SRS-XV800 supports the Sony Music Center App and Sony's Fiestable App. Both apps are supported by Apple iOS and Android OS mobile devices. A wireless Bluetooth connection between your compatible Apple iOS or Android OS mobile device and the Sony SRS-XV800 is required to use either app.

• Sony Music Center App: The Sony Music Center App (for Apple iOS 11.0+ and Android OS 5.0+) allows you to optimize the speaker system's audio settings (including LIVE Sound and TV Sound Booster), control music, choose lighting patterns, group speakers (Stereo Pair or Party Connect), and manage your Bluetooth connected devices.
• Fiestable App: Sony's Fiestable App (for Apple iOS 11.0+ and Android OS 5.0+) provides DJ, Illumination, Motion, and Voice control of the SRS-XV800 speaker system. You'll be able to access fun features like making party playlists, karaoke, and more. You'll even be able to control the speaker by simply shaking your compatible smartphone device, or by speaking preset voice commands into your compatible smartphone device's microphone.

Lighting Effects: The Sony SRS-XV800 offers ambient illumination lighting that produces modern and subtle lighting effects for parties and everyday use. You can select a variety of different lighting patterns from the Sony Music Center App (for Apple iOS 11.0+ and Android OS 5.0+)
