Product Research

Features

Overview: The AudioControl AC-LGD20 Load Generating Device let you add an aftermarket amplifier or signal processor to a Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, and Maserati factory non-amplified sound system. Many modern factory radios feature built-in protection circuits that will mute the audio outputs if the factory speakers are removed. The AC-LGD20 has been designed to generate a load (20Ω) to stabilize the signal from the factory radio and provide the best possible audio.

Connection: The AC-LGD20 includes 2 load generating devices, each with connectors and 6.5" of attached speaker wire that's color coded to match most aftermarket speaker wire colors. If adding an AudioControl amplifier or processor, the included connectors simply plug into the sockets on the AudioControl device. If adding another brand of amp, set-screws on the connectors allow the wire to be easily removed and attached to the new amp. The Load Generators get placed in between the output of the factory radio and the input of the new amplifier or processor. Each channel can accept a maximum input voltage of 15Vrms (50W) and provides 20Ω of impedance.

  • Note: The AC-LGD20 is designed for factory NON-AMPLIFIED systems. If installing in a vehicle that's AMPLIFIED, the AudioControl AC-LGD60 will be required.

Q
2019 rt do I need these after unconnected speakers?

I have the Uconnect stereo in a Jeep Wrangler. I installed a 8 channel amplifier and the stereo would not produce any sound going straight to the amp. I installed these between the stereo and the amp so the stereo would " see " a load and output sound again.

yes, if you remove the speaker for signal. it mimics the ohm load of a factory speaker for the uconnect radio

Q
If I kept my stock door speakers but have a kicker amplifier and and epicenter should I buy the LGD 20 or LGD 60?

the speaker is not important. the car stereo has to sense a load on the wires. the model year of your car is where you'll find the answer. if you have any of the front speakers still hooked directly to the stereo you won't need these on the front. audio control has a website and you can e mail or call them.

They are for the stereo not the speaker as far as I know. U might need it if you have a stock radio in a morpar but if you have an aftermarket radio you can just rca it to the epiccenter
