About the AudioControl LC-6.1200

Power galore
Power galore
Two keys to unlocking great sound in a car stereo system are serious power and extensive control — and this amp's got them both. For power, AudioControl's LC-6.1200 6-channel amplifier puts out 125 watts RMS per channel, so it'll drive even the most demanding aftermarket speakers with plenty of headroom to spare. And if you're into bass, you could bridge this amp to 3-channel mode to drive three subwoofers with 400 watts RMS each, 1200 watts in total.
Active controls for active systems
This amp will work well with a 3-way system that uses a pair of tweeters, midrange speakers, and subs. Highly adjustable crossover networks let you set high-pass, low-pass, and bandpass filters so each driver gets only the frequencies it was designed to play. AudioControl's AccuBASS® circuit ensures maximum bass performance, even if you're connected to a factory radio that normally turns down the lower frequencies as you turn the volume up
Add kick to your factory stereo
AudioControl designed the LC-6.1200 to work equally well with aftermarket and factory stereos. Eight active speaker-level inputs allow you to connect to almost any factory radio, with signal summing accommodating the separate bass, midrange, and treble signals found in some factory systems. Signal sensing circuitry turns the amp on, via the front speaker-level inputs, so you won't need to run a remote turn-on wire throughout your vehicle.
Convenient features
Onboard LEDs indicate optimized signal flow for inputs and outputs, plus give you a warning when a source is too loud and causing distortion. An optional wired remote can get assigned to each and every channel pair so you can control volume from the front seat.
Important Note: Some factory radios and amplifiers will not work without sensing that its speakers are connected to their outputs. If you don't have output from your factory system after installing this amplifier, you'll need an AudioControl AC-LGD load-sensing adapter (sold separately) to correct the issue.

Features
Overview: The AudioControl LC-6.1200 multi-channel amplifier is designed to enhance the sound of your car stereo system, whether it's a factory system or an aftermarket one. The amp will accept speaker-level or line-level inputs, and can be configured for 3/4/5/or 6-channel operation. The LC-6.1200 features a black brushed aluminum chassis, with black powder-coated cast alloy heat sinks and a one piece bottom panel. A black brushed aluminum cover is provided to protect the amp controls from tampering. A 2.5mm Allen wrench (supplied) is needed to remove the cover.
AccuBASS: The patented AccuBASS processing circuit compensates for factory bass rolloff to improve bass performance, especially with most factory installed sound systems. The circuit has two rotary controls: the Threshold lets you dial in the level at which the AccuBASS will begin to work, while the Level control raise or lower the level of AccuBASS compensation.
ACR-1 Remote: The optional AudioControl ACR-1 wired remote, when enabled, lets you adjust the level of the main outputs, and the line outputs, from the driver's seat. Switches, located on the top of the amp under the removable cover, let you enable or disable AccuBASS and the ACR-1 for each pair of channels. If disabled, the ACR-1 only controls the level of the line outputs. The ACR-1 comes with a 20' cable.
Maximum Input Level Control (MILC): The amplifier analyzes the input signal to detect any clipping. If the signal reaches the level of clipping, the MILC Source Clip LED glows red, prompting you to turn down the gain level. When the gain level is maximized, a green Maximized LED will glow to indicate the gain, for that set of channels, is set to the optimum level.
GTO (Great Turn On) Signal Sense: If you are connecting the amplifier to a factory stereo, or an aftermarket unit without preamp outputs and a remote turn-on lead, the GTO Signal Sense circuitry can turn on the amplifier when an audio signal is detected on either the line-level or speaker-level inputs. After a period of time with no signal input, the amp will turn itself off.
Controls: The LC-6.1200's controls are located under a removable protective panel. The included 2.5mm Allen wrench is needed for removing the panel during setup. A flat-head screwdriver (not included) is needed to adjust the rotary controls. The amp's controls are as follows:
- GTO Signal Sense: On/Off
- Channels 1/2:
- Front High Input: This rotary control adjusts the level of the Front High speaker-level input.
- AccuBASS & ACR-1: 2-way switch to enable or disable the AccuBASS circuit and the ACR-1 remote level control (if connected).
- HP Crossover Frequency: This rotary control sets the cutoff frequency of the High Pass Crossover for Channels 1/2. The control is variable from 30Hz to 300Hz.
- Crossover Range: This switches the crossover range between 30 - 300Hz and 500 - 5kHz
- Mode: If bridging channels 1/2, you can set the output to mono. If not bridging, it can be run in stereo.
- Gain: This rotary gain control adjusts the overall output of channels 1/2.
- AccuBASS: The AccuBASS circuit enhances the bass
performance of the amplifier.
- Threshold: The Threshold control selects the level at which the AccuBASS will begin to work.
- Level: This dial adjusts the level of the AccuBASS.
- 1/2 - 3/4 Bus Sum: This switch can sum inputs 1/2 and 3/4 together so one pair of inputs can feed outputs 1 - 4.
- Channels 3/4:
- AccuBASS & ACR-1: 2-way switch to enable or disable the AccuBASS circuit and the ACR-1 remote level control (if connected).
- Crossover Type: This switch determines whether channels 3/4 will be High-passed or Band-passed. Two crossover Frequency dials are used in conjunction with this switch.
- Crossover Frequency: These rotary controls set the cutoff frequency(s) of the crossover for Channels 3/4. The High-pass dial has a range of 30Hz - 300Hz and the Low-pass dial's range is 500Hz - 5kHz.
- Mode: If bridging channels 3/4, you can set the output to mono. If not bridging, it can be run in stereo.
- Gain: This rotary gain control adjusts the overall output of channels 3/4.
- 3/4 - 5/6 Bus Sum: This switch can sum inputs 3/4 and 5/6 together so one pair of inputs can feed outputs 3 - 6.
- Channels 5/6:
- AccuBASS & ACR-1: 2-way switch to enable or disable the AccuBASS circuit and the ACR-1 remote level control (if connected).
- Crossover Type: This 2-way switch allows the Crossover for channels 5/6 to be either Low-pass or High-pass.
- Crossover Frequency: This rotary dial sets the Crossover frequency, whether HP or LP. The range is 30Hz - 300Hz.
- Mode: If bridging channels 5/6, you can set the output to mono. If not bridging, it can be run in stereo.
- Gain: This rotary gain control adjusts the overall output of channels 5/6.
- LED Indicators: The LC-6.1200 has six LEDs on the front panel to
let you know the status of the amp.
- Power: If the amp is powering on correctly, this should be lit green.
- Protection: The amp has built-in diagnostic codes to tell you exactly what is going wrong if the amp detects a problem. Both the Protection and Power LEDs can flash certain codes indicating where the problem is. A chart of these is provided in the Quick-start guide.
- MILC Source Clip LED: The MILC (Maximum Input Level Control) level-setting circuit prevents clipping and distortion. It calculates when the waveform of an incoming signal on input 1 or 2 is clipping and lights this LED. The level of the incoming signal should be set just prior to MILC LED coming on.
- Maximized 1/2, 3/4, and 5/6 LEDs: These LEDs indicate when the LC-6.1200 amp gain for channels 1/2, 3/4, and 5/6 has been maximized for optimum performance.
Connections: The LC-6.1200's connections are aligned along the front of the amplifier for ease of installation. The amp's connections include:
- Fuses: Three 40A ATO blade-type fuses are installed in the amplifier.
- Power: Set-screw terminals are provided for connecting +12V Power, Ground, and Remote In. The set screws can be tightened/loosened with a Phillips-head screwdriver (not included). The Power and Ground terminals will accept 4 to 0 gauge wire, while the Remote In terminal accepts up to 6 gauge. A 120A fuse should be placed in-line on the power wire, no more than 18" from the battery.
- Line Level Inputs: Three pairs of RCA jacks are provided for connecting the amp to the source unit via RCA cables.
- Line Level Output: One pair of RCA jacks for feeding the signal to another amplifier.
