About the Kicker 48CVTDF122

More boom in less room
More boom in less room
Kicker's CVTDF122 loaded enclosure gives you a low-profile 12" CompVT subwoofer in a downward-firing box that brings Kicker bass power to the crowded spaces of today's cars and trucks. The rugged sealed box was designed specifically for the subwoofer, so you can count on getting maximum performance, whatever you listen to.
Built to last
The 12" CompVT sub's tough injection-molded polypropylene cone gives it the stiffness to resist distortion when you pump up the volume. Its Santoprene rubber surround keeps the cone on track for less distortion, while the sub's 4-layer voice coil combines with the frame's extensive venting to stand up to long listening sessions. This sub handles up to 400 watts RMS, so you'll get the kind of bass response that brings the best out of your music.
Rugged good looks
The box's downward-firing design helps protect the sub from damage, and lets you place items on top of the cabinet to save space. Its sturdy medium-density fiberboard construction and rugged black carpet covering give the enclosure good looks that complement its performance.

Features
CompVT Woofer: The Kicker 48CVTDF122 enclosure is loaded with one 12" CompVT series shallow-mount subwoofer. The Kicker subwoofer features a stiff injection-molded polypropylene cone with full perimeter venting, along with a UniPlate back plate and pole piece, providing exceptional cooling in an ultra-thin design. The ribbed surround and cone are attached using Kicker's signature red stitching, providing an outstanding bond.
Down-Firing Enclosure: The sealed down-firing enclosure is made of heavy-duty MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) with extensive internal bracing, providing exceptional acoustic efficiency and deep powerful bass. The enclosure is covered in sleek black carpeting for added protection and a refined look. Its compact, down-firing form allows it to be mounted in cargo areas, or under seats.
Speaker Terminals: A single pair of spring-posts are mounted on the underside of the enclosure in a recessed terminal cup, and will accept pin connectors, single banana plugs, or bare wire up to 10 gauge.
Power: The single 2Ω CompVT subwoofer can handle 200W-400W RMS (800W peak).
Break-in Period: Due to the complex nature of Kicker CompVT speakers, they require a break-in period in order to produce optimum low-bass response. The suspension system is very stiff out-of-the-box. Approximately two weeks of daily playing will allow the suspension to break-in and reach its optimum equilibrium. Once broken-in, the subwoofer will exhibit stronger bass performance, smoother response, and greater low-bass extension.

This thing is awesome! I was able to fit it in my 2018 Silverado Crew cab beneath the drivers side rear passenger seat fairly well. Has some good range and rattles my mirrors plenty!
