About the Kicker CompRT 43TCWRT102

Bob Bihlmayer

A match made in heaven...or Oklahoma

Kicker's 43TCWRT102 loaded enclosure puts a thumping 10" CompRT subwoofer and a second passive sub behind the seat of a truck or in any vehicle that's low on space. The rugged sealed box was designed specifically for the subwoofer, so you can count on getting maximum performance, no matter what kind of tunes you enjoy. The second sub (called a "passive radiator") reacts to the air pressure produced by the active sub, creating lots more bass without producing any port noise.

Big bass from a CompRT sub

The 10" CompRT sub features a rigid injection-molded polypropylene cone that won't flex and cause distortion while you're cranking the bass. Its rubber surround will last through years of heavy use, combining with a special-design back and top plate to give you more excursion (which equals more bass) than other skinny subs.

Heavy-duty enclosure

Sturdy medium-density fiberboard ensures long-lasting performance from the enclosure, and its sealed design keeps the bass punchy and accurate, without getting sloppy. The enclosure's 2-ohm impedance draws maximum power from your mono amplifier.

Features

Speaker Terminals: The spring post terminals (one pair) are mounted on the left side of the enclosure and will accept pin connectors, single or dual banana plugs (3/4" width), or bare wire up to 8 gauge.

Woofers: The Kicker 43TCWRT102 enclosure uses one 10" CompRT series subwoofer and one 10" passive radiator.

Break-in Period: Due to the complex nature of Kicker CompRT speakers, they require a break-in period in order to produce optimum low-bass response. The suspension system is very stiff out-of-the-box. Approximately two weeks of daily playing will allow the suspension to break-in and reach its optimum equilibrium. Once broken-in, the subwoofer will exhibit stronger bass performance, smoother response, and greater low-bass extension.

  • Height: 12"
  • Depth (base): 6-3/8" (7-1/8" including the subwoofer)
  • Depth (top): 3-1/2" (4-1/4" including the subwoofer)

Customer Q&A

Q
Has anyone ever mounted one of these behind the rear seats in a 2005 GMC extended cab pick-up? The box is too large to fit neatly under the back seat, and I can't have this taking up usable interior space. A custom $600+ enclosure isn't up my alley either.

My research department has those pickups listed as having no room behind the seat for a subwoofer box. I do not expect this one or any subwoofer to fit behind the seat in those pickups. I wish I had different news for you there.

Q
I own a kicker 4ohm 43TCWRT124. How, if at all possible, do I change the speaker?
dwayne  Feb 05, 2020

A
The screws are hidden by stickers that fill in the recessed areas around the mounting ring. Carefully peel them up, and you can remove the sub from the box and unplug it.

Would this sound better facing through the back of the seats of a 2019 mustang or facing into the trunk area?

In a 2019 mustang Face the sub toward the seat

Lows tend to permeate and do not have to be aimed as much as high frequencies. The nice thing about this model is it is self contained so you can try it both ways to see what suites your preference.

Thanks for your question. For information on selecting the best amp I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to help determine the differences between the amp models and help you make the best choice for your system.

Hi... I'm not too familiar with numbers and specs, but What I can tell you is that this sub is beautiful, well made and sounds amazing in my F-150 single cab set up with a Kenwood Radio and hooked to an Alpine 2 channel amp. Great Punch for the buck????

Hi Slatfour! I am so sorry for any inconvenience. I did pull the Owner's Manual for this sub, and it does reflect a sensitivity level of 89 dB. We will get that correction reflected on our site, ASAP. Thanks for reaching out!

Q
Will this enclosure fit behind the back seat of a 2017 Tacoma double cab without having to remove the storage inserts?
seth  Jan 29, 2019

Recently purchased this item. The actual enclosure will fit the dimensions of the bin, however the seat will not close. If you trim the storage insert in the front to accommodate the speaker surround, it will fit nicely but I understand not everyone wants to do that. I ended up removing the passenger side storage (remove the drivers side first!, needs to come out before passenger) and it fits nicely with room to spare for other items. So long story short, unless your willing to "trim" the storage bin, it will not fit and operate.

Hard to imagine it fitting behind the seats. I have a 2018 Silverado and it fit like a glove underneath the seat (crew cab). Take the measurements and go with your gut.

Not sure. I do know it fits behind the seats in a 2004 GMC Sierra 2400 crew cab if that helps

Q
Does this sub have dual voice coils? I want to wire it to 1 ohm.
matthew  Feb 10, 2017

A
The Kicker CompRT 43TCWRT102 enclosure comes wired internally to present a 2-ohm load to your amplifier. If you would like to discuss other sub enclosures we offer that present a 1-ohm load, feel free to contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.
